HOUSE OF LORDS

UK India Legal Partnership( UKILP) under the leadership of London based lawyer Ajit Mishra hosted its first annual awards at House of Lords on 21 st December 2022. UKILP is a networking platform for Senior lawyers in India and the UK.

Ajit Mishra is a dualqualified senior lawyer in London and has special focus on Indian market. He has many years of experience of leading international M&A and other corporate and commercial transactions.

The event was attended by the President of the Law Society of England & Wales; Chair of the Bar Counsel of England and Wales; General Counsels, Sr counsels/ King’s Counsels,

Judges, Member of House of Lords and House of Commons, representatives of Universities and partners of some of the prominent law firms doing business with India. The theme of the dinner was “India @75 and Beyond”.

Lubna Shuja, President of the Law Society of England & Wales was awarded Carrie Morrison - Women of the year Award. Award is in memory of Carrie Morrison, the first woman to be registered as Solicitor on Rolls of the Law Society.

Mr Harish Salve KC a very prominent Indian lawyer was given Life Time Achievement Award for his long and very successful legal career.

Life Time Achievement Award was also given to Mr LALIT Bhasin, Sr Advocate and President of Society of Indian Law Firms. Mr Bhasin has completed 60 years in legal profession and has a very successful litigation and Arbitration practice.

UKILP will host their next event in March 2023.
