Colan Associates has successfully managed dozens of projects, and partnered with engineering companies, LPA’s and DOT’s for hundreds of projects nationwide: Housing Trust Fund Corporation/Governor’s Office of Storm Recovery (GOSR) – New York Rising Buyout Program: ORC has completed over 50 permanent relocations in designated Staten Island areas and is currently addressing 90 temporary tenant relocations as relief from Hurricane Sandy.
San Antonio River Authority (SARA) - Renaissance Village Apartments (San Antonio, TX) ORC relocated 14 displaced elderly residents of the independent living facility, who originally were displaced without URA regulated benefits. ORC conducted a site survey and determined all available relocation benefits. ORC also provided multi-lingual agencts to work with spanish speaking occupants. LCTCS Facilities Corporation - Hurricane Gustav/Ike Infrastructure Program: ORC, subconsultant to CDM Smith, relocated Chennault Mobile Home park for SOWELA Technical Community College to construct an 85-95,000 square foot training facility on a 13-acre parcel of land needed to increase workforce from Hurricane Katrina. City of Minot - Souris River Disaster Recovery Program: Souris River flooded in 2011. ORC was contracted by CDM Smith to negotiate purchase of a 36-pad mobile home park with limited comparables due to a tight housing market.
Charlotte Storm Water Services Quick Buy Program (Charlotte, NC) Under a contract with Mecklenburg County Storm Water Services, ORC completed the following three separate projects. 1. Shannon House Project, Following guidelines published by FEMA and the North Carolina Division of Emergency Management, ORC relocated two voluntary tenants. 2. Selwyn Village Condominiums Project; As part of a joint venture between Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation and Mecklenburg County Storm Water Services, ORC acquired four residential condo units to mitigate repetitive flood loss claims. 3. Lastly, ORC acquired 11 residential structures damaged in a 2011 flood. This voluntary acquisition program included 7 acquired and 1 relocated properties.
