COUNCILLOR SEATS If you are interested in becoming a Parish Councillor please contact the clerk, ashcottpc@gmail.com or one of the existing councillors, or come along to a meeting which is held on the 3rd Monday of each month in the committee room of the Village Hall.
DEFIBRILATOR Please contact the clerk (Vicky) on 01458 860827 or by email ashcottpc@gmail.com if you are able to volunteer to go on the rota for checking the defibrillator light at the village hall. This has to be checked daily so if we have a few more volunteers then no-one will have to do this all the time. I am sure you would all agree that it would be awful if it needed to be used and it was found that it was not in working order due to lack of volunteers to check it. POST BOX AT THE BATCH The Council are aware that the post box location is far from ideal due to a technical issue. It will be relocated to the green triangle, by the noticeboard when this is possible.

Hi folks, As you may know, café church is moving to the Shapwick cricket pavilion! Our first day is Sunday September 9 at 10am. ? enable our monthly café church to be a more rarely or never been to a church event, you may find café church to be refreshingly relaxed and informal. Moving to the pavilion means that we can use a light, spacious and modern facility ‘ to it. We start at 10am with fresh filter coffee and bacon butties (vegetarian options are availble), and then have an informal service from 10.30. The style of this service has been changing as well, with more emphasis now on discussion of relevant topics than on talks from the front: the aim, if you are there, is for you to feel that what we do is relevant to your life. Shapwick Church will continue to be a really important building within the parish of the Polden Wheel, and probably gets more usage than any other. Messy Church meets t running Alpha once a week as well. It is often used for other events. putting on the Alpha course: this is a series of sessions exploring the Christian faith, run over eleven weeks. Each talk looks at a different question around faith and is designed to stimulate conversation. Alpha takes place all around the globe, and everyone is welcome. There are three key things: food (there is a full meal each evening), a talk (a very wellproduced video) and good conversation. It starts on Wednesday Sept 18 at 7pm Every blessing, Rich Tweedy vicar@poldenwheel.co.uk
