Wednesday 10th April
Meeting in Ashcott Churchyard at 7.00pm
We would really love to see old friends as well as anyone new who would like to join us. It is a really lovely way to spend Spring and Summer evenings, starting with shorter walks, then as daylight permits, the option of shorter or longer walks to your choice. This is a great way to meet people, have a chat along the way and find new places around our Village.
EVERYONE WELCOME
The object of our walks is to ensure all our footpaths are kept open, and we try to do a bit of clearing as we go. Please can we ask that you do not bring your dogs on these walks because of cattle in the fields, stiles etc. We look forward to seeing you at the start of the new season, which we hope will be dry !! WOULD YOU BE INTERESTED IN TAKING PART IN AN ASHCOTT OPEN SHED WEEKEND? Do you have an interesting shed? Do you make things in a workshop, brew ale, carve wood, make clothes, grow plants, keep reptiles, work from your shed or use the space for a hobby or collection? Would you be interested in letting other shed lovers visit your shed as part of a Village Shed Tour, over a weekend to discuss ideas and interests? If you would like to discuss the possibility of taking part in a Village Open Shed Weekend then please let me know and I will arrange an informal meeting in the pub to discuss the idea. Possibly planning for an “open shed” weekend in the early autumn? Duncan: Mob: 07966 133901 e: sharkcage@btinternet.com

Hi folks, If you were asked to pick the number 1 global issue in the world today, what would you choose? climate change. I think many of us recognise it but find ways of putting off doing anything for me until recently.

For this reason, our Lent course this year will be about Creation Care – which will look at some of the different environmental crises in the world today, including climate change, and how Christians could respond to them.
t entirely surprising that environmental issues are often a hard sell – they make us feel gloomy rather than cheerful, and cause us some discomfort when we consider our own lifestyles. This therefore makes it entirely appropriate to think about these topics during Lent, a season designed for us to be challenged in the way that we away from – for example, are we more selfish in the way we live our lives than we think we are? This is part of what Lent is about: the only difference The course will start on Thursday March 14, in Shapwick Church at 7.30pm, and will last for five weeks, ending on Thursday April 11. Each week will include a short introduction with video clips and some factual background, on this topic than might be supposed! Every blessing, Rich Tweedy vicar@poldenwheel.co.uk
