Enrolment in the 2023 Winter AHA program opens for Ascham families on Wednesday 7 June and external students on Monday 12 June 2023

General Information

Age guidelines

A student’s age/year group is taken as of the current calendar year. Activities will be split into age-appropriate groups (numbers permitting) Prep programs are for students aged 4 and older who start Kindergarten in 2024

Covid19

Procedures are in place to support both students and staff during this time

Students may be subject to temperature checks on arrival, program numbers are limited and any students who present with cold or flu symptoms will not be permitted to attend the AHA

Location

All holiday programs take place at the Fiona Campus of Ascham School Entry is off 188 New South Head Road, Edgecliff.

Drop off and pick up

All students attending the programs should enter the School via the New South Head Road gates and proceed around the carpark A car line will operate from 8.30am (for drop off) and 3.30–4pm (for pick up)

Timing

AHA programs run from 9am–3 30pm daily Please ensure participants arrive, check-in and are collected on time

Medical conditions

Medical conditions should be disclosed at the point of booking and action plans, or relevant documentation, forwarded to the AHA Manager.

What to bring

All participants are to wear appropriate clothing, including a hat for when outside, and closed-in shoes All children must bring their own morning tea, lunch and drinks Additional required items will be advised the week prior to your child’s activities.

Photo permission

Photographs may be taken by AHA staff and may be used for Ascham publications, on the website and social media If you do not wish your child’s photograph to be used, please notify at the time of booking

Dance Day

Calling all dancers! This is a fantastic opportunity to work with dance industry experts as you workshop different styles which could include Hip Hop, Contemporary, Jazz and Musical Theatre Groups will be split into smaller age groups and students will participate in 3 different workshop styles If you love to dance, this day is not to be missed!

Tennis Camp

A full day of Tennis An opportunity to work with the Ascham Tennis coaches focusing on fitness, skill development and game play plus fun games and movement activities. Groups will be split into age-appropriate small groups

StarTime Forensic Detective

Years K–4

Collaborating with fellow detectives, and together with StarTime Coaches, children will race against the clock as detectives, to solve this baffling mystery! Learn how to crack codes, solve puzzles, follow clues, and create simple gadgets to retrieve an important piece of evidence Children work together creatively to solve problems, developing their skills in collaboration and communication

Luna Park Excursion

Luna Park is Sydney's most iconic amusement park. Students will be bused from Ascham to Luna Park where they will discover the latest rides, attractions, fun under the Sydney sun! Bring your friends and enjoy a day full of thrills and belly laughs

Pajama Party

Bake Club Baking Professor

Have you ever wondered how yeast makes bread rise, or why puff pastry ‘puffs’? Join Anneka Manning from BakeClub for a fun-filled day of uncovering the fascinating science of baking where all of these questions and more will be answered Lunch will be provided

Spend the day exploring all things Australia with this immersive and engaging workshop We begin the day with an Outback experience lead by Koomurri Aboriginal Excursions We will then make damper and explore Aussie animals A day not to be missed

MultiSports

Run, jump, dodge, duck, this day will burn off any leftover energy! Students will compete as a team and solo in a series of evasion games, improve their ball skills and be challenged as they play new games and meet new friends

Built it! Make it! Sustainability

Years K–6

Tue 11 July

Focusing on sustainability, this edition of Build It Make It will utilise recycled materials to learn all about Trash to Treasure, solar energy and growing our own food

Record and sample sounds from your environment then combine them with a ready-made musical composition to create your own soundscape music track on Garageband Create and record your own works of art

StarTime Building Battles with Minecraft

When it comes to building in Minecraft the possibilities are endless! Learn about unique constructions and the basics of building before putting your imagination and Minecraft expertise to the test designing your own dream dwelling! For all skill levels from Masters of Minecraft to the newest of novice builders! Each student will be given the opportunity to explore Minecraft as a creative building tool
