When I compare my insides with anyone else's outsides, I lose sight of myself.

VISIONES COMPARTIDAS ¿Qué es lo que hace que una persona, una cultura o una obra de arte nos parezca hermosa? ¿Cómo se fusionan la forma externa y la percepción interna para crear los valores distintivos que buscamos encontrar en el mundo que nos rodea?

¿Tu visión usa los 5 sentidos? Creemos lo que percibimos, así que sintonicémonos con el gusto, el tacto, la sensación, el olor o el sonido de nuestro deseo de dar vida a la experiencia. ¿Nuestra imaginación desafía a las palabras? La imaginación funciona en imágenes, no en palabras. Si nuestras visiones nos dejan sin palabras, hemos tenido un buen comienzo. ¿Nos enganchan con nuestros sentimientos? ¿es ese el punto de partida para sentirse bien? No pensemos sólo en lo que podría hacernos felices, sino ceamos capaces de ser perspicaces y ver más allá, para aprender de todos y de todo. Esa es mi propuesta en estas series donde la mirada es la que define la vida de cada individuo, de la sociedad y de cada cultura.

SHARED VISIONS What makes a person, a culture or an artwork seem beautiful to us? How do the external form and internal perception merge to create the distinctive values we seek to find in the world around us?

Does your vision use the 5 senses? We believe what we perceive, so we tune into the taste, touch, sensation, smell or sound of our desire to bring the experience to life.

Does our imagination challenge words? Imagination works in images, not in words. If our visions leave us speechless, we have had a good start. D o we get hooked with our feelings? Is that the starting point to feel good? Let's not just think about what could make us happy, but let us be able to be insightful and see beyond, to learn from everyone and everything. That is my proposal in these series where our inner vision is what defines the life of each individual, society and each culture.

También practico el arte relacional para apoyar a individuos o grupos a encontrar los límites de su visión interior y mediante la fotografía de sus ojos, la reflexión compartida y la intervención de los mismos con pintura que traerá la nueva luz que conseguirá una energía positiva en su manera de entender el mundo y con ello, cada quien tendrá su propia pieza de arte personal, intervenida bajo mi guía y una nueva manera de sentirse felices con quienes son y con lo que tienen.

I also practice relational art to support individuals or groups to find the limits of their inner vision and by photographing their eyes and intervening them with painting of a new light that will get a positive energy in their way of understanding the world and with this shared artwork, each person will have their own piece of personal art, intervened under my guidance and shared reflection to a new way of feeling happy with who they are and what they have.

Mis obras de arte representan espacios multidimensionales que integran los sueños, un espejo del inconsciente: cuerpo, espíritu y mente, combinados en el arte de las técnicas mixtas. Mi TRIADA UNICA es un reflejo de los tres cuerpos que nos dan forma y que se reflejan en nuestros sueños nocturnos.

Una propuesta para vernos más allá de lo obvio que reúne nuestras ideas y sueños internos.

Al igual que muchos sueños, mis obras de arte hablan en muchos niveles simultáneamente, pero tres interpretaciones entrelazadas parecían particularmente obvias y relevantes para mi callejón sin salida creativo.

Cuando prestamos atención a los sueños nocturnos y las percepciones internas de la luz del día, el inconsciente proporciona lo que la mente consciente no puede. En mi caso, descubrí una brújula espiritual.

Reconectando con mi pasión por el tema y alimentado por mi deseo de aprender más sobre mí y sobre el inconsciente colectivo, encontré una luz que guiaba nuestro ser interior colectivo.

My artworks represent multidimensional spaces that integrate dreams, a mirror of the unconscious: body, spirit and mind, combined in mixed media art.

My ONEIRIC TRIAD is a reflection of the three bodies that shape us and that are reflected in our nocturnal dreams. A proposal to see us beyond the obvious that gather our insights and inner dreams.

Like many dreams, my artworks speak on many levels simultaneously, but three interwoven interpretations seemed particularly obvious and relevant to my creative impasse. When we pay attention to night dreams and daylight inner insights, the unconscious provides what the conscious mind cannot. In my case, I discovered a spiritual compass. Reconnected with my passion for the subject and fueled by my desire to learn more about myself and the collective unconscious, I found a guiding light for our collective inner self.

Silvia Villanueva es una artista guatemalteca que ha participado en más de 20 exposiciones colectivas y ferias de arte, la última fue Red Dot Miami 2017.

Mis obras de arte pertenecen a colecciones de arte en Guatemala, Antillas Holandesas en San Martín; Roma, Italia y en la Santa Sede del Vaticano, Roma, Italia, donde he expuesto.

Silvia Villanueva is a Guatemalan artist who has participated in more than 20 group exhibitions and art fairs. The last one was Red Dot Miami 2017. My artworks belong to art collections in Guatemala, Netherlands Antilles in St. Martin; Rome, Italy and at the Vatican's Holy See, Rome, Italy, where I have exhibited.

La visión interior que nos propone la artista guatemalteca Silvia Villanueva, en sus piezas de técnica mixta sobre lienzo, es la de mirar más allá de lo evidente y encontrar en cada pieza una mirada característica de nuestros conceptos y percepciones. Su técnica mixta, mueve criterios y amplía miradas hacia la comprensión y tolerancia, esa es su intención, por lo que cuenta con una propuesta de trabajar la mirada interior de cada persona en arte relacional, fotografiando sus ojos e interviniendo la imagen con el sentido del cambio.

The inner vision proposed by Guatemalan artist Silvia Villanueva, in her mixed media art pieces on canvas, is to look beyond the obvious and find in each artwork a characteristic vision of our concepts and perceptions.

Her mixed media technique, moves criteria and broadens views towards understanding and tolerance, that is her intention in her relational art proposal to work the inner look of each person in participative art, photographing their eyes and intervening the image with the sense of change.
