Summer time Lovin’ BY BRITTANY MONTEITH - MAKEUP ARTIST
I
t’s summer time! Bright colours are a must have this time of the year. Steer clear of those dark winter shades and make room for more vibrant colours! Bold eye looks are the best way to liven up your makeup in summer. A bold eye look with a nude lip, sounds simple - but is very effective. This look is ideal for any event, day or night.
Step 1
Step 4
Start with prepping your eyelids. You must always do your eye makeup before the rest of your face as you may find that some eyeshadows are very loose and can create fall out under the eyes. To prep your eye lids, place down a concealer and set with a translucent powder. If you are wanting your colour to really pop, place an eyeshadow primer down and apply the colour directly on top - this is effective, yet can make the blending process a bit lengthy.
With your fluffy blending brush, continue to blend from the crease of the eye into the transition shade! Be sure to use a colour that complements your skin tone and eye colour. You will notice that the bright colour you have placed on the lid, will start to diffuse which means your blending correctly and successfully. You may find that you must continue to pack the colour on and blend a few times before achieving the completed look.
Step 2
With a fluffy blending brush, start placing a neutral tone into the crease of the eye for a transition shade. Placing a transition shade down before adding such a heavy colour, will help the colour look less harsh as well as help with the blending process. Blending is such a vital step of any makeup look. This can take some time. When blending, be sure to move your brush in windscreen wiper motion until your bright colour is diffused into the transition shade completely.
Step 5
Step 6 Step 3
Grab a flat eyeshadow brush and pack on any vibrant colour of your choice onto the eyelid.
With a smaller, denser brush, place some highlight in the inner corner of the eye. Doing this will add more dimension to the eye.
Finish by adding your favourite mascara! And voila, your look is complete.
ADDITIONAL STEP: By adding a winged eye liner and false eyelashes, this will really make your eyes pop and bring the eye look together.
