t’s been said that it takes a village to raise a child. But it’s rare that the child gets the opportunity to repay the favor. Dr. Mark Mallery is one of the lucky few able to return to his hometown with a life-changing skill and help the community who raised him to be the man he is today. His practice, Mallery Family Dental, is not far from his childhood home, and Dr. Mallery loves the excitement of seeing familiar faces walk through his door. He delights in caring for his old teachers or mentors from childhood, while at the same time watching new generations arise. He and his staff strive to offer the community the close, personal relationship they expect from a family dentist. Dr. Mallery was born in Grand Prairie and graduated from Lamar High School in Arlington. After he graduated from Baylor in Waco, he went on to Baylor College of Dentistry, then to a year in an advanced education in General Dentistry Residency. He now lives in Mansfield with his wife, Heidi, who works as a treatment coordinator at the practice, and their three children, Justin, 11, Abby, 8, and Logan, 3. Dr. Mallery’s passion lies in finding creative solutions with the best possible outcome for his patients; something that will improve their lives in subtle or even profound ways. “The cures that dentistry offers can be life changing,” he said. “There’s nothing like giving someone the confidence to smile or the ability to eat a normal meal again.” His extensive continuing education allows Dr. Mallery to provide additional services,
