february 2014 IOLTA Accounts Made Simple … and Other Information You Need to Ethically Start a Practice

How the New Child Custody Laws Have Affected Cases

Wet/Dry Counties and the ABC

February 14, 2014 9:00 - 11:15 a.m. Arkansas Bar Center 2224 Cottondale Lane, Little Rock

February 21, 2014 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Flying Saucer 323 President Clinton Ave., Little Rock

This informative presentation helps you start your new practice off on the right foot! Topics include setting up an IOLTA account, required paperwork, new laws on IOLTA accounts, and much more.

In July of 2013, a new statute went into effect that provided that courts should presume joint custody. How has that statute affected the outcome of cases? How is it being applied by the court? Come and listen to a seasoned family law attorney and a panel of judges cover this topic.

This course will discuss the various laws and regulations controlling the sale of alcohol in Arkansas, particularly drawing distinctions between activities permitted in “wet” counties and activities permitted in “dry” counties. Participants will learn about the different types of available permits, including private club permits. The process of counties switching status from dry to wet, or vice-versa, will be discussed. The course will also describe the mechanics of obtaining a permit, including handling an application through the ABC approval process.
