Buckler, an intelligent combination of the English look and the high quality textiles from the U.S. and Italy, has been tailored for the sexy and masculine male figures since 2001.

Custo and David Dalmau founded the brand Custo Line in the early 80’s with inspirations from art, culture and philosophy. The brothers took their trip around the world and had their attention finally set on the surfers’ lifestyle in the southern part of California and the colorful creative fashion in the north. They learned all they could about screen printing and graphic design to take their brand to a more sophisticated combinations of colors and patterns. This collection includes both men and women.

The male models you see here mostly represent the types of physique their runway male models have; thin and young fresh look. One of their model is Nick Snider from VNY Models who is the current model for Prada campaign. The show was presented with spotlights. Something beside the lighting made me feel like the Adams Family just got a makeover and they look GOOD! (Snap snap)2

The Spring 2008 collection is inspired by a seaside lifestyle, with a nod to the heritage of vintage Perry Ellis. This season was particularly inspired by the dream of a sunset cruise, as reflected in a natural palette of sail white, sand, deck, and cloud, infused with hints of soft yellow, coral and bright orange, reflective of the sun as it melts into the horizon. The thematic interpretation also mixes sportswear and active beachwear in unexpected combinations. 19

After days of begging the agencies for their male models, Ryan Stewart came to us with enthusiasm and professionalism. We work days and nights to bring to you the following pages. So, can we get more than just two thumbs up?

Ryan Stewart the interview: AMM - Hi Ryan. Ryan - Hey you. Hello readers. (waving at the tape recorder) AMM - Most want to feel like they belong either to a group of people or to a place. You are no exception but you are one of those who have to go in search of that place, that society, that time and space where your imagination can flourish with mental and physical determinations. Tell us how you feel to finally take flight. Ryan - I am SO BLESSED! With my family, my students, and my church supporting me, I feel like I can do ANYTHING. I moved from the farmlands of Ohio to the beaches of Florida not too long ago, with supermodel, Skylar Starks. It has been an AMAZING journey, so far. Coming from such a diverse and mixed family, I feel right at home in Miami. See...I’m Black, White, and Creole (Native American and Spanish mix). In Ohio, I DID feel like an outcast, though. Not black enough for my black friends. Not white enough for my white friends. In Miami, EVERYONE is mixed. HaHa. I’m loving it. I have already started working in New York, but I am eager to travel GLOBALLY the biz. AMM - We are likely to yearn for what we don’t have. What is it that you most desire to achieve? Ryan - There is A LOT more to me than just being a model. My greatest achievement will be during my acceptance speech for “Song Of The Year Award” at the Grammy’s. I will dedicate the award, and EVERY award, to my Nana Carter. She was my Grandmother and best friend that I lost to Cancer in February of 2007. I swore to my Nana that I would take my talents as a model/actor/singer/songwriter and change the world for the better. I want to give people hope. I want to show the lost, the sick, and the angry that Jesus heals ALL wounds. I believe that my purpose on this planet is to fight for those who cannot fight for themselves; the young, the elderly, the handicapped…they’re all MY responsibility. Like Jesus…or a superhero. (smiles big) AMM - Like a superhero from the comic books, you find yourself with obstacles and those who don’t like to see you happy. How do you choose to handle them? Ryan - With A LOT of prayer. HaHa. Speaking of superheroes, I will quote an X-Men comic, “people fear what they do not understand.” Jealousy is abundant in our world. We should all be working together in order to make a better future for ourselves, not tearing each other down.

AMM - To hide is to avoid predators. To be a cover-model for Apollo Male Models Magazine is to...? Ryan - Lay one of the first bricks on the path to my stardom. It’s an honor to do so with you, and the AMAZING talent that is Nick Zantop, fashion photographer. I am so grateful for the chance to grace the cover of this magazine. I want to change the status quo, when it comes to what we are used to seeing in fashion. How often do you see a person of color in a Dolce & Gabana ad? Or on the cover of a fashion magazine? We ALL buy clothing, people…let’s use the rainbow for our selection in models. We are supposedly the melting pot of the world, right? Let’s be true to that when it comes to how we advertise our pop culture. AMM - What do you do to hone your skills as an actor and model? Ryan - For modeling, lots of protein shakes, a healthy diet, and a good workout routine. For acting I spend a few hours a week in the mirror, reading monologues. Actually, I spend time in the mirror for modeling as well, doing different facial expressions and poses. HOW EMBARASSING! I also do a lot of studying. The overseas market are a few seasons ahead of us, and they are a lot more liberal with their modeling. I try and take what they do, but tone it down to work for me here, in the states. AMM - With numerous photo shoots and runway shows for your resume, how has the feeling changed since the first time you set your feet on the runway or in a studio shoot? Ryan - My first shoots were set up by my aunt, B.E.T. television personality, Sherry Carter. I was JUST A TODDLER, doing campaigns for Cheerios and Macy’s. Now I am ripping runways for Roberto Cavalli, Nike, Ginch Gonch, and modeling on the cover of this issue of Apollo. I am an eager young man with a 10-year business plan.

That’s a HUGE change from drooling on that box of Cheerios. AMM - If you were approached by a scout who said he/she is from an agency that you recognized as a scam, how would you respond? Ryan - PUBLIC EMBARASSMENT!!! (laughing) Coming from a “small town” environment, I had a lot of experiences with scams, as well as fake agencies and modeling schools. ANYONE that is going to try and take advantage the hopes and dreams of others is DEFINITELY going to get what they deserve in the end. AMM - A modeling gig requires you to travel to a land where you don’t feel welcome. What do you do? Ryan - I take my Bible and my bright smile and stay focused. People can sense when you are collected. Stay at ease and others will follow. AMM - You love animals as many of us do. Have you worked with any in a photo shoot? Ryan - Yeah...When I first registered for college, I was majoring in veterinary medicine, then I switched to education. The day before I moved from Ohio to Florida, I had a photo shoot with my mom’s poodle. The pictures are hilarious! AMM - Any phobia? Ryan - UGH! Yes. Whatever the fear of dolls is...I have it. Doll-O-Phobia. (laughing)

AMM - I learn a new word everyday. If you could become a super hero what super power would you choose to have and why? Ryan - That is such a good question. I actually wouldn’t want to have any specific power or be a specific hero . I just want to be me. I will say, though… Storm is my favorite superhero. Hubba Hubba! AMM - They actually cut out the part where Storm was being portrayed as a great teacher in the first X-Men. I can see how her character inspires you. Are you good at organizing an event, hosting an event, or reporting about an event? Ryan - HECK YES!!! I see my work in entertainment as a BUSINESS! Therefore, I like to be the best businessman that I can be. I have helped manage other models’ careers, supervised runway shows, and also I am the assistant producer for events at Miami’s biggest group of night clubs. AMM - Who is your favorite male model...beside yourself of course? Ryan - Who me? Nah, I’m just a daydreaming farm boy...NOT. (laughing) Seriously, though, I have to give credit where credit is due. I very much admire Tyson Beckford for his breaking of barriers, but most of all Marcus Schenkenberg for his versatility. Something that many say I have learned a lot from. One of my modeling websites lists me as “Ryan The Transformer.”

o This month’s cover and feature spreads was photographed by celebrity fashion photographer Nick Zantop. Nick’s distinctive images have appeared in the previous issue of Apollo Male Models as well as in numerous other magazines, ad campaigns, and exhibitions. He divides much of his time between Miami, New York City, and San Francisco and can often be found as a guest speaker on fashion and photography related topics at schools, conventions, and other venues. Nick’s love for photography began at a young age and has evolved ever since, becoming something that he not only enjoys as a career, but also as a pastime - the ideal combination. brown leather ankle boots: Florsheim | burgundy boxer briefs: American Essentials | Leather bracelets: Abercrombie & Fitch |

Alex Kovas Standing at 6’2”, with green eye and brown hair, Alex Kovas muscled his way to our pages. Actually it didn’t take much to convince us that he should be in AMM. Take a look at the photos of him and you can see why he has worked with Nike, Adidas, Diesel, Zyvox, Sanex, Sony, and many more. I have looked deeper and found that he has done his homework.

the interview: AMM - You were originally from Russia. How did you end up in London? Alex - There are 2 main factors that resulted in me ending up in London. Since I was in my early Teens, I was fascinated by England, London in particular. I liked reading a lot, and one of my favorite Authors were Conan Doyle and Charles Dickens, and I liked English old films set in London. I always wanted to learn how to speak English. Secondly, I just had finished with my own business and was facing myself with a dilemma whether to get some job, that I’d probably hate, or get a little more adventurous and go see what the outside world has to offer. At that point my Cousin mentioned that his friend was working in London and would be happy to share the rent burden. It was only a matter of days until I left to London.

SilverSurfer photo, concept & body make-up by Gaz © www.picsbygaz.com

32

AMM - How is your physique contributing to your modeling career? Alex - In my case directly, modeling and training compliment each other perfectly. The majority of my modeling is based on body/fitness theme. Modeling can be a very irregular business, and very often I’m having long intervals in between assignments - that gives me all the time necessary for my training and recovery, so it also true to say that modeling contributes to my training. APOLLO MALE MODELS .com

AMM - Do you have an agency or you work mostly on your own as a model? Alex - Although I am not with any of the fashion top agencies (it would be nice though!), where you are exclusively signed with them, I am represented by several agencies on a freelance basis. That variety of Agencies contributed to getting the job as a featured actor in the Guy Ritchie’s Film “RocknRolla” where I played a Russian criminal. That was truly a great experience, and although I never even dreamt trying to become an actor, once tasted it,I’d really like to do more! So if any Big Film Directors reading this interview, I photo: © www.picsbygaz.com

photo: George Ktistakis www.georgekphotography.co.uk

would be ideal for playing a mute or “Hasta la vista, Baby” types - ha ha! That was by the way a very physical part, and luckily I had to speak only in Russian. Check it out next Spring when it’s due to release! AMM - Sure will! Tell us about your experience on the set for the Diesel ad. Alex - That was a fun job for sure, and probably one of the most bizarre I’ve done so far! Definitely that was only job where I had my make-up and manicure done at the same time! I supposed to be 1 of many (and all of them) clones in the future kept in the Tubes with some kind of life supporting liquid. In order to make me look like a clone, my head had to be completely shaved, and most of the body hair removed, save for eyebrows! I was wearing just a thin flesh colour thong, and all my body had to be covered with flesh tone foundation, so by the end of that I looked almost like a plastic mannequin you see in the shop. It was a big studio set, there was a big plastic tube, as you can see in the poster, and I had to be placed inside those tubes, using belts and a lifting mini-crane. And in the final shot where I lean forward through the broken glass I was smudged by the gel to make me look wet and slimy. As I said that was fun...

the interview: AMM - Is football a sport that you used as a step towards modeling and acting? Dominic - No, football was my life growing up as a youth and all through high school and my postgraduate year. My plans were to continue to play in college, which I was recruited for. I earned the John Griffin Most Valuable Player Award, New Haven Gridiron Club Levi Jackson Offense Team Award, S.C.C All-Conference Team of the Hammonasset Division Award and 2003 New Haven County Hall of Fame Classic All Star Team. During my postgraduate year I had the honor of being one of my school’s football captains. I made MVP and All-New England playing for them. I trained myself extremely hard to accomplish what I did. It was a part of my life that I was exceptionally good at. Although, I knew in the back of my mind I wanted to pursue acting and modeling. I continued to put off my dream to take the path of a college education because that was expected of me. Until two years into college the desire for acting and modeling became my goal and dream. Now I am taking my determination, dedication, and drive in the direction to pursue acting and modeling. AMM - There are less modeling jobs for male models than there are for female models. Do you feel there is something that can be done to change that? Dominic - There are so many TV shows on to promote female models, that I think it is about time that they start promoting more male models shows. Why can’t they have “America’s Next Top Male Model” or “Deal or No Deal with male models etc…. AMM - With determination, AMM tries to shine some light on that path and hopefully soon this publication won’t be the only one focusing on male models. And that’s ok; we don’t mind competitions. What makes you so passionate about modeling and acting? Dominic - I know deep down inside this is what I was meant to do especially acting. I have that same desire, dedication, and determination that I had for football all my life. AMM - Name a few photographers you have worked with. Dominic - Richard Phibbs, Peter D. Brown, Bruno Rand... AMM - Being an athlete and a model, how competitive are you? Dominic - I am extremely competitive. My whole life has been built around competing and sports. Now it just has taken my competitive side in a different direction to pursue acting/modeling.

Arrow Men’s Wear Campaign - Help Save Ellis Island photo: Richard Phibbs location: Ellis Island

AMM - After the first five minutes you have just met someone, what would you like for that person to know about you? Dominic - That I am extremely humble. I am a good person, hardworking, and very dedicated to whatever I do in my life.

the interview: AMM - How is the male modeling industry going in Amsterdam? Dennis - I am doing ok. Modeling in The Netherlands is pretty hard, a small country with a lot of beautiful people. But I always say: The sky is the limit! I am trying to get over to the USA. I already have an agency in Miami, and while I am writing these answers to this interview, I am sitting in the plane going to New York, to try to get an agency representing me there. AMM - Best wishes and we are sure you will sign with several more agencies in the U.S. before this issue go to print. Your background as a military police officer, combining with martial arts and fitness, I can see you auditioning for an action film. Have you done or at least considered that? Dennis - I have not done this, but I would love to do more acting. I am also taking acting lessons. I am always trying to find out what works the best for me. Action movies would be nice, but I am happy with every role I can play… I enjoy modeling and acting a lot! I am very passionate! I loved the phrase Sean John used when he launched his new fragrance; It is unforgivable to be non passionate! AMM - To you at one point in time, would modeling seem to get old? Dennis - No I don’t think so. I am always trying to do different things. From commercials, runway (high fashion) and underwear. From acting to photo shoots to commercials. Just doing as much as I can and doing the best I can. Think positive always.

week. I spend a week with Albert Clayton Gaulden. I did the Sedona Intensive program with him. I learned to meditate (that keeps you young and fresh for sure!) and most of all I learned a lot about myself. AMM - Signing with three agencies, one in Spain, one in The Netherlands, and one in Miami of the US, how does that work out with your modeling schedule? Dennis - Pretty busy… My mother agency is in The Netherlands; Tony Jones Model management. Tony Jones is one of the most incredible persons I have ever met! He introduced me into the world of real modeling… He has done a lot for me! But to me modeling is a pretty insecure business. It is still my second job. My other job is work for the military police in The Netherlands, bringing back and picking up criminals all around the world. I combine that with modeling. When I am in a country for my police job, I am always trying to visit clients and agencies for modeling. AMM - Name another agency and location that you would love to be signed with in the next few months. Dennis - New York and Los Angeles. Agencies like Ford, Wilhelmina, Major. I just want an agency in the USA that is just like Tony Jones. He knows the business, is straight forward, always trying to improve himself and most of all: he is honest! *** “I want to thank everybody who gave me the support I needed

AMM - What do you do to keep your look fresh in the market? Dennis - Living my life to the fullest! My life motto! Enjoying my life in every aspect! Trying always something different. Like underwear, fashion, sports, catalogue and whatever we (mostly Dale Grant and myself) come up with during test shoots. I also learned a lot when I was in Sedona (Arizona) last

to come this far. LIVE YOUR LIFE TO THE FULLEST! After my best friend Lucas died 2.5 years ago (RIP), I started to live my life to the fullest. I wish I had done that before… But it is never too late. When you get a chance to change your life for the better, take that change!” — Dennis N. van den Eijk

Welcome! Our feature this month is with James Duer. Top Modeling Face In The Modeling Circuit. James Duer got started in modeling a couple years ago when his brother Joe Duer took him into his modeling agency in New York Click Models. He knew about the industry pretty well growing up as his brother has been a model (as well as an actor) for 15 years along with James’s father. James was playing professional baseball and personal training after he graduated from college. When he knew his baseball career ended James knew he wanted to give modeling a try and he hasn’t looked back since ... and we are all happy for that! Where have you recently seen some of his recent work? His bookings have been high profile bookings for Ralph Lauren

James tells us one of his favorite bookings would have to be the Ruehl campaign he shot with Bruce Weber in Charleston, South Carolina. Working with Bruce is something every model inspires to do and he was fortunate enough to work with him previous to this booking as well. Bruce’s very nice and supportive personality mixed with his incredible talent makes him great to work with as a model. James shares with us “The other models were really fun to work with as well and he still keeps in touch with some of them.” So what does James Duer like to do in his spare time “I have a few hobbies including personal training (myself and others), hanging with friends, reading, writing and chess. But my favorite thing to do over the past 4 or so years has been spending time with my nephews and niece. I am blessed to have 4 nephews (Jake, Austin, Rock, Michael) and a niece (Summer) from my two brothers and sister.” The next generation of The Duer Family Models! Sports-wise baseball has always been his number one passion through life and he still plays as an amateur during the summers. James also plays basketball, football and tennis with friends. Positive and negative co-exist at every twist and turn, but how we choose to use them can strengthen our mind and body so that the roads ahead of us can be brighter.

AMM - Have you always been athletic? Max - I’ve always played sports such as soccer and basket ball. But when I graduated High school I was on a mission to put on some lean muscle mass. Fitness has now become my lifestyle and not just an hour at the gym.

AMM - So when you got yourself in trouble did your superior tell you to drop and give him 10? Max - LOL, I didn’t get into much trouble but when I did my superiors refrained from dropping me because they knew I’d enjoy the exercise.

AMM - Did you inspire others in the army to workout and keep their bodies in top shape during the time you were in the army? Max - Yes I did. Fitness kept us occupied with our down time in Iraq. It helped me stay positive and rubbed off on other soldiers.

AMM - That’s what I thought. Do it before you are told and you’ll never be told what to do. You are currently a personal trainer in South Florida. With a great physique and likable personality, wouldn’t you think you could do great in film and modeling? Max - I’m sure I could do great in film and modeling. It’s in my personality; I enjoy imitating others. I can be a goofball at times and it would be a pleasure to portray different characters as part of my job. It’s just a matter of time before I get discovered. I’m currently seeking representation for film tv productions and modeling. AMM - What are your skills that will contribute to your modeling? Max - I’m very open minded and see things from a wider stand point than most people might. I can take any idea and mold it into a better one. I not only follow instruction but also bring creativity to the table when I’m allowed to. AMM - What is it about modeling that interest you? Max - I love the energy that comes from a look, mood or vibe. Fashion is exciting and there are so many

diverse styles to choose from. It’s great when people from all over the world can come together as one. Fashion and modeling brings us together. AMM - You are here in Apollo Male Models Magazine. What would you like our readers to know about you the most? Max - Some people like to stereotype us fitness models. I would like the readers to know that I’m a very mellow, outgoing professional that willing to learn and grow with the entertainment industry.

Fashion is never without a designer, and a designer is never without his paths of inspirations. Whether those paths are with negative or positive experiences, they can be used as the pillars for a brand name.

the interview: AMM - Who was Kenneth Flanagan before the KAS Collection? KAS - Kenneth E. Flanagan was a Hip-Hop dancer, hustler, a pimp, lounge/ club owner, paralegal and more... WOW!... right??? I had a serious past growing up. AMM - LOL. Does fashion translate well from NY to Washington, DC? Or are there subtle modifications in between? KAS - There are definitely modifications, but that doesn’t mean it will stay that way. I believe that DC is a diamond in the rough; ready to shine and become a major fashion capital.

AMM - Does KAS Collection fill the need or does KAS Collection venture beyond? KAS - KAS Collection fills the need and ventures beyond. As a trend-setter and innovator, KAS Collection raises the bar in unmistakable fashion-forward couture. AMM - Your designs exude confidence and achievements. What types of character do you not see fit for your collection? KAS - Weak-minded under-achievers; someone unwilling to take chances and unable to keep up with KAS. AMM - Though you design for both men and women, would you say your collection for men is more challenging due to the fact that DC is so traditional when it comes to business attire? KAS - I would say menswear is more challenging. However, that is what pushes me to strive for perfecting my vision of the tailored new man. AMM - What types of build does your ideal man have? KAS - My ideal man is lean, athletic and tall, but KAS Collection caters to men of all shapes and sizes. model: Julian Sapp

AMM - Briefly describe a male model that you would consider for your campaign. KAS - He must be open-minded, sharp, on his game, and ready to push the bar to the next level. I need commitment! My audience is committed to me and I am committed to them. I pray this is displayed by my work.

With numerous accomplishments involving fitness and an active schedule, Jim Sayih still finds time to inspire us on the page of AMM.

the interview: AMM - Do men have a more difficult time getting motivated to get fit and healthy when they do it individually verses in groups such as firefighters, CEO Fitness, etc.? Jim - The group setting is always favorable. Whether it is a group of 3, 10 or 50, people exercising with others who share similar enthusiasm will engage in the experience more often and ultimately reap the benefits of a daily routine. Although there are people who have the personalities that prefer to exercise alone. These particular personalities lean towards doing most things alone anyway. Most men enjoy team oriented sports, and group exercise programs that make team members accountable to each other works well. AMM - Should America just not serve or even make foods that are known to contribute to obesity? Jim - I am in favor of foods that are unhealthy to be required, labeled and coded with a symbol that indicates the food is unhealthy, similar to the warning displayed on cigarette cartons. Corporate America has the right to trade commercial products but should include the responsibility to ensure safety with warning labels.

AMM - What is the average cost for a 300-pound man to get on a weight loss program and gain an athletic built? Jim - Costs will vary depending on where and who provides the service. On average, an email coach can range from $20.oo to $75.oo per week. Some can be as high as $1,000 per month with a personal trainer. The best cost effective scenario for a 300 lb man is to get involved in group sessions that typically have a reduced rate per session and the benefits are equally as productive to one on one sessions. Plus, they can be more fun.

AMM - What qualifications should a personal trainer have before his advices can turn into a paycheck? Jim - The best trainers have formal model: Jim Sayih education with a minimum of an Associate photo: M. Fullana Degree in Biology or other Health Sciences or Bachelor combined with certifications by ACSM, NSCA and NASM. Other certifications are available, but these 3 have established the fitness industry standards that are safe, researched based and reputable. AMM - Can a person rely on caffein for energy? If not, what are the sources we can safely rely on to get a bit more energy to go on with work and exercises throughout each day? Jim - To rely on caffeine or any stimulant for energy on a regular basis will eventually become an addiction. Research has shown that long term use of stimulants have been associated with high blood pressure, hypertension and Stroke. The best sources for energy come from the ground; fruits, vegetables and starchy carbohydrates. As long as these carbohydrates are not consumed in excess without exercise and the carbohydrates are not from refined sources, the human body will perform at optimum levels, both at work and play.

Ricardo Muñiz Photographer/Body Artist/Puppeteer

“Jaula” model: Albert Pérez

“Guerrero” model: Steven Muñoz

The main idea behind the creation of Coquíchulo Images was one of artistic support of my own Latino community. I was a social worker and teacher working with young people with severe problems (emotional, academic, social, and psychological) for over 15 years. Before I decided to pursue my artistic endeavors — photography, puppetry, and body art — I devoted myself and my work to help foster creativity and success within communities of color.

Although I’m a full-time artist, I have never left my community behind. I’m still a teacher and social worker at heart. Many of my exhibits, editorials, performances, shows and events include former students and community members either as models, participants, workers or contributors. I give much credence to the saying, “Each one, teach one.” I will say that my greatest work as an artist has been while working as a teacher. No job molds, shapes, creates, supports, directs, inspires and enables young people more than that of being a good and caring teacher. I made it a point to smile often as a teacher and as a social worker. I make it a point now to have fun while doing a shoot. Laughter goes far. At the end of the day, it’s not just a great shot that makes me smile: it’s looking back at the fun all of us had while creating it. Models like my shoots because they’re fun. We talk; we laugh; we share. I invite them and expect them to contribute to the work with their own ideas. The process is just as important as the product. If a person feels that he/she is a part of something and has a stake in it, the product will reflect this.

46

APOLLO MALE MODELS .com

However, I am also very clear about ground rules. I have detailed releases and I review all material prior to starting any shoot. Much of my work could be considered provocative, so I don’t want anyone not knowing exactly what he/she is getting into and what the expected outcomes are. Unfortunately, it is exceedingly difficult for Latino models of color to make it in the industry, but I’m hoping with continued support, we can change this. I let young people know that they have to work ten times as hard just to get to the door. With the numbers of Latinos on the rise and the industry finally recognizing our buying power, hopefully, we can start portraying more varied roles and, finally, earning something commensurate with our efforts. I love my work. I still work with young people in many capacities, but I’m able now to help young

Latinos realize their artistic visions. Recently, my art photography has drawn me more into fashion and I’ve begun mentoring aspiring Latino models. This editorial for AMM reflects this. I am honored to present my photography and body art on these aspiring Latino models. I sincerely thank Apollo and the AMM readers for allowing us to share our work with you. We may have struggled, but we’re finally here. It’s more important to know where you stand and where you are going than to worry about what you didn’t get or what you didn’t have.

— Ricardo Muñiz o For more information on the artist or the models, please contact Ricardo Muñiz at coquichuloimages@yahoo.com. (www.myspace.com/coquichuloimages).

Yeikov

Make-Up Artist/Art Director

I started in the make-up industry when I was 14 years old. I was coloring on some paper when a make-up artist “discovered me” and took me under his wing, showing me the ropes. From there, I went to school in my home town Puerto Rico where I graduated as a fashion designer. This helped me establish a vision of my own: Applying make up with a different aspect. I also studied the art of nail technician and hairstyling. I moved to Houston Texas where I spent 2 years working as a make-up artist and hairstylist in a salon. Deciding that I needed more, I moved to Miami and started working for brides and also at the cosmetic counters. I moved to NYC a year after that to establish myself full time in the make-up industry. Having my background in fashion and working for individual clients helped me establish a different perspective in photo shoots; incorporating my visions with clients, models and photographers with their individual’s need. I personally felt that make-up is an art and I considered every face a canvas, where I expressed myself as an artist. — Yeikov
