I hope you all had a wonderful and FRUITful February! March is going to be a long one, and we hope you all are excited for everything Key Club has planned for the month. I apple-solutely can't wait for the end, with DCON approaching fairly quickly. Which means that the newly elected 23-24 officer board will soon be installed! Congratulations to Hasvita, Hallea, Aiden, Jordin and Tram! I know you all will do amazing. Especially, my editor elect hehe, Tram you have done such an amazing job within the media committee, and you will be a pear-fect editor! As my second to last issue I will ever be creating, I am so thankful to each and every one of you that reads these newsletters every month, along with again my lovely media committee that are a massive help (Tiffany and Tram <33). Please also check out our swaggy club website if you haven't already run by Amita, and admire all the beautiful artwork by Paru and Hallea! Anyways, I won't be sour yet, and I am berry excited to spend these last two months helping our community and bonding with other Key Clubbers. HAPPY HAPPY MARCH UNI-ACORNS!!
It is a new month, but a month closer to our key club term ending. Our favorite key club seniors will leave and the new elected officers will be in office! Which is good news and I am ecstatic to see what they have planned and in store for the 23-24 term! I would like to acknowledge each upcoming officer, president Hasvita, vice president Hallea, secretary Aiden, treasurer Jordin, and editor Tram! I have seen and worked with some of them closely throughout the 22-23 term and seeing them expand their key club journey and make a big commitment into their lives to take upon this role is amazing! I am so proud of each one and i hope you all get to know all of them well and continue to serve as a member during their term! Which transitions me to tell you all my lieutenant governor term will be starting soon and cant wait to see you all at a division and district level. I still am truly grateful for each and everyone of you for inspiring me to go far and beyond my limits to achieve this goal. You guys are truly the base of key club and without all of your guys’ hard work, dedication, and spirit, our home club in aoc wouldn’t have strived and expanded so much. Remember to always acknowledge your own hard work and if you guys ever need anyone to talk to! Remember I myself, and the officersalwayshaveurback:)

IMPORTANT: All service hours and requirements met this month and stated in the March Service Hour Log will not count for the Member Recognition Program, as the deadline to qualify has already passed. However, please continue filling them out for the next two months so we can reach our goal of 800+ service hours as a club!

That's crazy, our term is almost ending :( We've had elections this past month and I'm so proud to say that I have the most capable members that are serving alongside me in the upcoming term! Electionsforthenew23-24termAOCKeyClub officer board occurred on Thursday, February 2nd and Friday, February 3rd right in our usual meetingplace,room101duringlunch.Thetwo day session covered candidates for President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer and Editor. Every seat in the room was filled, as members wereeagertowatchthenewofficerboardbe elected.Eachcandidatepresentedthemselves with confidence, charisma, and courage, demonstrating their passion for Key Club with their speeches and caucus sessions. While the atmosphere seemed to be nerve wracking, everyone in the room was filled with encouragement and excitement, watching all oftheseindividualsputthemselvesouttherein hopes of becoming a part of the next leadershipteam.
DayoneofelectionsconsistedofTreasurerand Editor candidates, while day two covered Secretary, Vice President and President candidates. In the end, the current officer boardtallieduptheresultsfrombothdaysand spent the last 10 minutes of the meeting announcing the new board members. The spirit sessions leading up to Fall Rally South 2021 paved the way for my Key Club journey. Coming into the first spirit session, I was really really anxious. I didn’t know what to expect and I didn’t know anyone else besides our members from our home club, who I was not really close to at the time. However, as soon as I walked into Central Park, I immediately reconnected to the people who went to my elementary school, and we were grouped together and also with new people when we played “Poncho” which was definitely an icebreaker. At first, I felt stiff and awkward, but as the game progressed, I became more comfortable and had a lot of fun working with these people. The whole experience was an analogy of how I feel about Key Club now, and it has truly broken me out of my shell and pushed me to talk to new people!

Before joining Key Club, I was very reserved and shy and not involved in school, at all :,). Shortly after sophomore year ended, I was offered the opportunity to join Key Club as a founding officer as their Bulletin Editor, and was really excited as I have always wanted to start a club, but never had the confidence to. I was already familiar with Key Club, volunteering with West Ranch Key Club while I was still in junior high, but I had no idea that this club was way more than a volunteering organization. What drew me in was I got to run the instagram account for the club, which is how I was really able to branch out and connect with other Key Clubbers online. Editing videos, graphics and even creating this monthly newsletter became my outlet to relieve stress and display my creativity. Being editor has been my greatest experience in my highschool career, even being awarded Editor of the Year for our division last term. It was never for college applications or anything like that, I genuinely found Key Club to be my home, somewhere I felt like I belonged and was always so much fun! I have met some of my best friends today from other schools in our division, and even other divisions, which is something I never would have expected, and I am extremely grateful for my position :D

I’m Hasvita Obulapuram and I’m a current Junior. I’m looking forward to serve as your president for this term! As you guys may know, I was your treasurer this past term, and because of that I’ve learned so many skills to add on to our term to make sure it runs as smooth as possible. Some hobbies of mine include listening to music, watching TV shows, taking naps (a lot of naps…), and facetiming my friends until they get annoyed of me :) A fun fact about me is that I’ve binge watched the entirety of My Little Pony over the summer again.. So feel free to reach out and we can bond over our favorite pony ;) Excited for this term, so hope you guys are too!

Outside of key club and school, you can find me reading comics (I’m addicted, I’ll admit), drawing, baking (bread<333), playing The Sims, or plucking out tunes on my uke ��. Another fun fact is that I currently have a 272 (at the time of writing this) day streak on Duolingo; and, just like I’m committed to Duo, I’ll be committed to y'all this term , stay slayin’ uni-acorns :D

My name is Aiden Chung, a freshman, and I am proud and excited to be able to serve as your secretary for the 2023 to 2024 term! One interesting (more like unusual) fact about me is that I can zone out while walking aimlessly for literal hours without even noticing (I have some stories revolving around this if you’re interested). Overall, I have been super passionate about Key Club ever since I joined my first service event back in August, and I’m so excited to be able to serve and give back to the community that has given me numerous unforgettable experiences and memories that I will keep with me for a lifetime!
