En el marco de la Asamblea General de Socios se entregaron los reconocimientos con los que la asociación destaca la trayectoria profesional y académica, y que además distinguen a las nuevas generaciones y al aporte institucional a la arquitectura. On the occasion of the General Associate Assembly, the association presented the awards for professional and academic trajectory, highlighting representatives of the new generations and institutional contributions to architecture as well.
Medalla AOA a la Trayectoria Arquitectónica AOA Medal for Architectural Trajectory IZQUIERDO Y LEHMANN ARQUITECTOS La oficina fundada por Luis Izquierdo y Antonia Lehmann en 1984 recibió el reconocimiento por su destacado aporte a la arquitectura. Con encargos de distintas envergaduras y el trabajo con diversos materiales, los arquitectos reúnen un cuerpo de obra que, más allá de lo formal, da cuenta de un gran proceso de análisis. Desde 2012, comparten esta práctica con su hijo Cristián, quien se transformó en el tercer socio y en un aporte indudable a la oficina. En casi 40 años de trayectoria, Izquierdo y Lehmann ha abordado diversos encargos, entre los que se cuentan los edificios El Golf, Manantiales, Gasco, Cruz del Sur, la Galería Patricia Ready, más de cien casas a lo largo del país y el recientemente inaugurado edificio corporativo de CMPC, un hito en la construcción en madera en Chile. Respecto a los elementos que han primado a la hora de proyectar, Antonia comenta que la estructura ha tenido una influencia fuerte en la forma de sus edificios. "Ha sido una marca de la oficina tratar que las cosas parezcan lo que son, que el edificio se lea no como una capa sobrepuesta de pieles, que están muy de moda, sino que se entienda cómo trabaja. Se adornan mucho las cosas y a los 10 años esas pieles terminan abolladas. Mientras más sintética y austera sea, la forma del edificio resiste mejor el tiempo y más se parece a una ruina, con el mismo encanto que estas tienen", afirma la arquitecta de la Universidad Católica.
The office founded by Luis Izquierdo and Antonia Lehmann in 1984 was acknowledged for its outstanding contribution to architecture. With commissions of different sizes and work with different materials, the architects gather a body of work that, beyond their morphology, accounts for a great process of analysis. Since 2012, they share this practice with their son Cristián, who became the third partner and an unquestionable contribution to the office. In almost 40 years of trajectory, Izquierdo y Lehmann has tackled diverse commissions, among them the El Golf, Manantiales, Gasco, Cruz del Sur buildings, the Patricia Ready Gallery, more than one hundred houses throughout the country and the recently inaugurated CMPC Corporate Building, a milestone in wood construction in Chile. Regarding the elements that have prevailed when it comes to design, Antonia comments that the structure has had a strong influence on the shape of their buildings. "It has been a mark of the studio to try to make things look what they are, that the building is read not as a superimposed layer of skins, which are very fashionable, but that you understand how it works. Things are very much decorated and after 10 years those skins end up damaged. The more synthetic and austere it is, the shape of the building better resists the passing of time and the more it looks like a ruin, with the same charm", states the architect from Universidad Católica. 121
