ANZA STUDENT SPONSORSHIP 30TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATIONS by Louise Kennedy, ANZA Student Sponsorship Co-ordinator 2018-2019 marks the thirtieth year of the Student Sponsorship Program, which was started in 1988 by lifetime member, Marilyn Ardipradja. Starting that first year with 22 students sponsored by 19 sponsors, ANZA now helps over 500 boys and girls in the Jakarta area, based at schools where we have a long and strong relationship; we can be sure the money sponsors give us goes where it is intended. Thirty years is a huge achievement, and we want to include the students in the celebrations, so we have organised a schedule of three special outings and three parties! The first trip and first party were in November—Year 5 & 6 students from MKGR visited the IPTEK centre at Taman Mini Indonesia Indah; the whole school at Esti Bakti, Years 1 through to 9, were treated to a morning of Magic & Mayhem, with three performances from Josh the Magic Man, and fun games run by ANZA members. A very big thank you to Taman Mini Indonesia Indah and Josh the Magic Man for giving us special discounts, and to the Blue Bird Group for providing all the transportation free of charge.¿
