PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE
Selamat Datang Tena Koutou Katoa G’dayWelcome back to the 1980s.
On behalf of the ANZA Committee, I would like to thank all of you for supporting the return of the ANZA Charity Ball. After two long years away, we are so happy to be once again holding our largest fundraising event for the benefit of our Social Welfare Programs.
Thank you to all our generous sponsors who have contributed to this evening. Many have donated prizes that will support our fundraising. Others have helped us get back to the future to create the atmosphere for this event.
We have a fantastic array of raffle prizes and silent auctions displayed in the foyer. Remember that the 80s were famous for big hair, big shoulder pads and also big money! Please make a bid or buy some raffle tickets to support the underprivileged communities across Jakarta that ANZA sponsors,
For the hard work and dedication of our volunteer Ball Committee, who have worked for many months to make tonight a reality, we truly appreciate your efforts.
Some of us remember the 80s as a simpler time. We knew how to make our own fun. Tonight is a celebration, so I hope that you can cut loose, footloose, and enjoy a fun night of friends, food and dancing.
Simone Murphy ANZA PresidentANZA SOCIAL WELFARE
For nearly 45 years, ANZA's Social Welfare Program has been proudly helping some of the most impoverished and under privileged communities across Greater Jakarta. Tonight's ANZA Charity Ball is the first major fundraising event that we have held in three years, and your contribution can make a world of difference - a little goes a long way.
Our Social Welfare committee volunteers continued our work throughout COVID, albeit at a reduced scale and adapting to a non-contact basis. Social Welfare helps in four different ways: Regular Projects, One off Projects, Student Sponsorship Program and Medical Sponsorship Program.
Regular Projects: Due to severely reduced funding and utilising our reserves, the number of projects reduced from 19 down to 8. This heartbreaking reduction was done gradually so that each project had time to adapt. Each month, funds are sent to the projects to help with their operating expenses. The projects are across a number of areas including feeding programs, health, disability, and elderly support. For some projects, ANZA is the only regular donor.
One-off Projects: ANZA regularly receives requests for one-off funding or requests for goods. Sadly many of these have been declined, again due to limited funding. In the last year, a donation drive for members was held for provision of staples at three Pusakas (elderly support), greatly assisted by the Australian Embassy.
Student Sponsorship Program: For 33 years the ANZA Student Sponsorship Program has enabled disadvantaged children in several schools to continue their non-government education by covering their annual school fees. There are currently 500 children in the program, generously sponsored by many long-term donors, both in Indonesia and now back in their home countries.
Medical Sponsorship: ANZA works with Yayasan Citra Baru to fund life-changing craniofacial surgeries. Although this program has slowed during COVID, these operations are sponsored by individual donors.
ANZA Social Welfare is affiliated with BKKKS, the coordinating committee for charities in Jakarta. Through this network, donations are sought from the various donor groups operating in Jakarta and information shared on project needs. Owing to its long history, ANZA's name alone can sometimes help projects to gain funding from others. Projects are monitored on a regular basis and annual evaluations performed to ensure that funds are being spent as intended.
Funds raised tonight will allow us to take on more regular and one-off projects and give us certainty towards our future. On behalf of the thousands of people that we have continued to assist, we thank you. For more information about ANZA Social Welfare, please visit our website or contact anzasocialwelfare@gmail.com.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR
OUR MISSION TONIGHT
Throughout COVID, ANZA's Social Welfare Program has continued to support the disadvantaged in Jakarta - disbursing over IDR 720 million to our regular & one-off projects, IDR 150 million in medical sponsorship, and IDR 1.35 billion in student sponsorship over the last 2 years. But with limited fundraising opportunities, our funds are fast running out!
Please help us to refill our coffers, so that ANZA may continue to have an impact for years to come. We hope you will open your hearts and your wallets tonight.
We are grateful to all our event sponsors for the amazing prizes we have on offer tonight - including vacations, staycations, group dinners, romantic dinners, spa vouchers, gym memberships, furniture, clothes, accessories and more!
