Love Stories
See, I love you. But love is a feeling we can experiencebutneverexplain.

The contemporary art exhibition entitled "Love Stories" presented at the Diachronic Museum of Larissa, consists of visual objects known as "artist books" that explore the concept of love. Artist books are works of art that utilize the form or concept of the book and are three-dimensional constructions in various visual styles depending on the artistic style of their creator. The visual artists participating in the exhibition created original "visual books" which are presented in museum cases. In the caption of the exhibition elements, thereisaQRcodethatleadstoavideo"browsing" of the artist with his artist book. Thus, the exhibitionconsistsoftwotypesofexhibits.

Sofia Kyriakou's approach to the Artist book stems from her engagement with the environment and art.The materials that she has used are burnt tree bark (from a burnt forest) and sprouted lentils on paper. The burnt bark of a tree symbolizes the climate change because of the poor management of natural resources and disturbance of the balance of the environment. The sprouted lentils symbolize the resilience of nature and the power of life and its recreation. The letter A is the first of the word Love(inGreek,Agapi),foreverythingthatexistsinnature.

The painting is inspired by the scrolls of Eastern and Western art. Emakimono is the Japanese painted scroll that unrolls horizontally from right to left so that images are gradually revealed. The scrolls mainly depict landscapes, flowers and birds, portraits and verses of poems. The process of unraveling is part of their philosophy and meditation, where the reader or viewer calmly unravels and reconstructs the subject in their own way. In Western art, during the Middle Ages, you use the scroll, to write religious texts decorated with miniatures and also stories with knights. In the work "amore" narrative episodes of a young love are presented. One image follows another and one scene follows the next. Man, love and nature participate in the joy of the life of lovers. A life full ofpurecolorandcarefree.

In the making of the book I used FORTRAN punctured computer cards. By embroidering right into the digital/binary code automation cards, a personal, free-style writing/weave is thus generated to lay out secret messages, as the weaving intervenes to underline the possibility of choices and unexpected combinations, presenting resonant strokes of yarns amidst deconstructive outbursts of a continuous dialogue among citizens, lovers, friends. Deviating from the cards’ original purpose of social architecture (on which one reads computerized inscriptions of civil service departmental categorization such as TAXATION or PUBLIC ADMINISTRATION, etc.) the book’s pages point to an alternative web of revolutionary love messages embeddedinaritualisticmeta-writingofdigitalmysticism.

Love. A spontaneous emotion, powerful, multifaceted. Expressed in different ways and towards different recipients. This Art Book becomes a cube with its sides corresponding to multiple forms of love. Love is multifaceted like the sides of the cube. The material is natural, warm, ready to be sculpted. On it, poems with words of love, handwritten like the messages exchanged by lovers . On each side the sentences of the poems end on a funnel guiding the eyes to the other side with a new poem. The sequence of the sides follows the letters of the word ΑΓΑΠΗ ( LOVE ). Beginning and end, a red surface with the “powerful” color redcorrespondingtothisemotion.

This particular Book is a short love story in the form of an illustrated fairy tale. Two people come into this world in a nest, recognize in each other the good elements, the good heart and the wise mind, and after putting aside their Egos they allow their hearts to unite .They built a house-nest to live together, they give birth to their babies and when they die they return to earth.Thisisthetaleoflove.

Duḥkha(/ˈduːkə/),usuallytranslatedas"suffering","pain"or"misery",is an important concept in Buddhism, Jainism and Hinduism. Its meaning depends on the context and may refer in particular to the unsatisfactory-unanticipated or unrest of mundane life, which is uncomfortable when driven by craving/grasping and ignorance. "Love stories",predominantlyexpectationandoutcome-feelingthateverythingis changing for the better, the ideal. A love story, even if imagined, comes unexpectedly, almost mercilessly, and erases all that has gone before. Worries, disappointments, rejections, all are forgotten and erased in the face of the greatness, the supreme. This little {12x12} manual, tries to haunt this very process-experience. Plans, thoughts, dreams and demands, all locked together, bound together in a black box that can be opened and filled in when there is need and confusion. “Wanderlust - The Book” is a booklet that unfolds and becomes a map of New York City with images from the ephemeral installations made by Panagiotis Voulgaris in public spaces of the American metropolis. Made with paper tape, they present an intense geometry juxtaposed with nature and the city, playing with light, transparency and scale. Each artwork functions as a condenser that organizes, for a limited period of a few hours in a day, the artist's random journeys through the city, recording the number of steps, the distance walked and the hours of this process, until the return to the location of each artwork and its removal.

The “Wanderlust” temporary interventions took place at various locationsinCentralPark,BrooklynBridgeParkandtheManhattan Bridge from December 2022 to January 2023. What these projects have in common is the love of nature in the urban environment, the exploration of their interrelationships, their reception and perception by humans through walking, and their effect on them. They also represent a research into the possibility of intervening in the public space in the form of a minimal structure.
The documentation of these artworks coexists with photographs of the city taken by the artist, as well as fragments of maps and old images of iconic New York City buildings, which intertwine with the human and the body. “Wanderlust - The Book” captures Voulgaris' experience of this fascinating metropolis of the world, and how he has connected with the city through a series of ephemeral projects and countless journeys through its streets. With children’s toys, it tells a love story of two people who live in completely different parts of the world and the power of love that once brought them together. The question arises, whether they themselves should take the reins of their destiny and shape their common history or, on the contrary, accept that nothing is in their hands. The anthropomorphic ceramic sculpture resembles a cabinet with shelves. This work is a small handbook of magical love spells and potions. Everyone, I believe, has heard or read stories of love magic from distant places but also from my homeland, Thessaly, old stories, some as ancient as man. Thus, he recognizes symbols such as the herbs, the cock's foot, the binding chains, the secret spells, the stones... but also the vulva-shaped mirror, the key that unlocks the heart, the black hair of the coveted face and some others, which complete my own fairy tale. This grimoire is as dark as it should be, it can only be read by those who have fallen deeply and truly in love and the spells are unlockedwitha...

A concrete ball, heavy and bulky material. A ball that rolls and opens. A hypothetical "book" that tests the symbolism of its material and what it describes. A strip of text is revealed when the ball opens in two. One moment is enough to unite two pieces and an eternity to separate them. The time that theoretically exists and the eternity that stops it. A sonnet on time, unity and the moment. Moment at the limit defined by the vastnessofaneternity.
