Welcome the Fab February , Our Anniversary Month, Many Congratulations to one and all.

Motherhood Club is celebrating its fifth Anniversary this month. 5 years simply means trust and faith on each other . A mother is the epitome of faith. Motherhood club has emerged on the foundation of faith, spreading sunshine amongst its members and fellow beings.

Since its beginning it has raised humanity's concerns through poetry and story writing, talk shows, poetry sessions, appreciating and encouraging talent, helping and supporting vulnerable sections of society, and is actively involved in developing a positive mindset.

The month of January saw some amazing sessions in Motherhood Club. There was a talk on depression by Umang Sarin ; Decoding Generation Z by Monica Goel Dewan ; there was a Talk Show on 'Positive Parenting' by Holistic Life Coach Dr Priyanka Tibrewala, talk on entrepreneurship by Business Coach Ms Mansi Gupta.

Motherhood celebrated Vishwa Hindi Diwas on 10th January. Jingle-Mingle show on Bollywood songs on 23rd January. Story reading by members under its Open Mic programme.

The three touch stones of Motherhood are Health, Wealth and Happiness. February augers love and feel good feelings, when flowers bloom and roses are exchanged to express love.

Having faith in self and respect for each other is the best form of love. One feels more encouraged to try new things, explore new avenues, this giving purpose to life. Motherhood Club aspires to live up to its mission.

Team Motherhood has set in motion the agenda for its Anniversary Month and month-long activities are planned. We look forward to everyone on board to make February, fabulous and memorable.

This month shall witness the culmination of Health Wealth and Happiness and a blend of offline and online activities.

Care for Care Givers Everyone plays a role of either being a patient or a caregiver of the patient in their life.

Which is more difficult? Any opinions you have? Everyone has their own perspective but according to my personal perspective, it is difficult or challenging to be in any situation. Patient is going through all those pains, anxiety, suffering, etc. But a caregiver is going through different challenges such as worry, anxiety, competitive to oneself to take better care of the patient. The most difficult part is to respond to others out there enquiring about patient’s well-being. People are constantly advising about precautions, alternatives, etc. I know it is important sometimes but access of advices, believe me it is just not easy.

It is very natural that we tend to forget about the situation or mental condition of a caregiver. We need to realize the mental stress that the person must be going through.

Will it not be nice if we check or just talk to the carer about his/her condition? May be try to divert the attention for some time. We can provide support that can include some good talks/words, some appreciation for the hard work that person is putting in a positive outlook to the scenario. If someone is physically available, may be a cup of coffee or tea, seems nice, right?

Such reactions are going to boost up the energy or emotional levels of the carers and they are better ready to handle the challenges. Moreover, just spending some quiet time also helps. Have you ever thought, what is annoying? - “Comparisons.” Everyone has different capabilities or capacities. We cannot compare situations or the way things are being taken care of. You may be perfect or had done things better but please do not boast about it. There are people like doctors, nurses, family members, friends for the patient but we need someone to understand or listen to the carer as well, the one putting in efforts to make things better.

Next time, when you get in any such situation or come across any of it, just analyse and then act. Your wishes to the patient and care to the carer will be magical and you will be proud of yourself. Wow! This is so much positive atmosphere in one go. Hope we all give such thoughts next time when we see something like this.

BOOK REVIEW Book Name: Dying to be Me Author : Anita Moorjani Book Review by Akta Sehgal

Dying to be me is an inspirational memoir by Anita Moorjani , who battled cancer for four long years and and eventually triumphant. She shares her journey of not just the 4 years she suffered , but her entire journey came to her as a flash, when she experienced a near death experience. Yes you read it write ,she had a Near Death Experience(NDE) and when she woke up , it gave goosebumps to all present around her and also to everyone who reads this book. In the near death experience that she had , she realizes her true worth and the actual cause of her disease.

Anita was born in Singapore to Indian Parents and eventually moved to Hongkong . She was diagnosed with Lung cancer in 2002 and recouped in 2006.

Anita’s health was deteriorating and she was rushed to the hospital and the doctors had given up and told her family that all her near and dear ones should be called , so they can be around her when she takes her last breath All her organs were giving up and the doctors had said there is nothing much that we can do for her. Danny her husband was not ready to let her go. Anita had slipped into coma and she stayed there for almost 30 hours, In these 30 hours she travelled and healed her self and reached a point where she had to make a choice :” I had the choice to come back . or not. I choose to return when i realized that ‘heaven’ is a state and not a place” When Anita woke up from coma, she confidently told the doctors, test me , i am free of cancer , Indeed she was and she was healing.

Anita in her book says which resonates with me “ I deserved to be loved simply because I existed, nothing more and nothing less”. This was a rather surprising realization for her, as she always felt you need to do something for someone to like you , appreciate you or love you . I had to earn the love , but the NDE changed her perspective.

She also felt that Cancer was not some punishment for anything she had done wrong, nor was she experiencing any negative karmas, as a result of her actions. Her many fears and her great powers had manifested as this disease. GO GREEN Coriander Leaves : A power house of food health Can we imagine Indian food without coriander leaves. Coriander leaves are not only used as garnish but also to add flavour to the food. Our ancient good crafters understood the medicinal importance of herbs, hence they incorporated herbs like mint, curry patta, coriander etc. into our recipes. Coriander leaves help reduce bad cholesterol while improving the levels of good cholesterol. Consumption of coriander leaves also helps in managing raised levels of blood pressure. It also supports weight loss by enhancing the metabolic rate. An excellent antioxidant, Coriander leaves nourish the skin and help fight wrinkles .

It's anti inflammatory qualities help improve neuro health and fight infection.

It is quite easy to delay or to forget a task that has no agreed end point. That is why it is very essential to keep a deadline in mind . Deadlines encourage a seamless flow of work , at the same time allowing us to collaborate toward achieving a shared goal, and to keep complex projects on track at every stage.

Meeting deadlines proves your credibility in the market .It encourages loyalty and respect among your clients due to timely delivery of the project. It enhances the overall productivity of your team.

Here are a few simple tips to meet a deadline: Do a general brainstorming with your team.

Break the project into small steps/ stages .

Create small teams and delegate individual responsibility of each stage to the teams.

Define a timeline for the creative team.

Define a deadline for production team.

Identify task dependencies while keeping a standby team ready in case of failure of any team to perform.

Break down the project into smaller tasks.

Ask all the teams to prioritize their tasks.

Try adding a buffer so that there is no last minute rush .

Decide the focus time for each team.

Keep track of each and every stage of the project.

Believe in your team , keep their morale high.

Do necessary hand holding, but give autonomy to your team.

Keep the team motivated , do not hesitate to walk the talk .

Be present at all stages of the project for timely intervention and rectification of errors/ anomalies.

Parenting Reflections: Navigating the Maze of Childhood Challenges Recently, a 12-year-old student left home following a test at a coaching centre, causing sleepless nights for the parents and sparking a neighborhood-wide search. The police scoured CCTV footage, and social media was utilized in the pursuit. On the second day, a resident from the same city spotted the runaway in another city during a work trip, leading to the student's location being reported to the search team.

The incident prompts reflection on the reasons behind a 12-year-old's decision to run away, possibly linked to the pressures of attending a coaching centre. This raises questions about the choices parents make, investing significant amounts in both schools and coaching centres. The pursuit of being perfect parents may inadvertently overshadow the genuine needs of a healthy childhood.

Just like in the plant and animal kingdom there are many species and sub-species who come with their ‘svabhavas’ or intrinsic nature, so also our children come with their own unique set of skills. Yet, society tends to treat them like caged chickens in a poultry farm, attempting to mould them into a standardized form. What caused this 12-year-old to get away? Did it have anything to do with the fact that he got away from a coaching centre? Most likely. Wha makes parents put their wards in these coaching centres when they are also paying hefty amounts at schools? Parenting has never been easy. In our efforts to be that perfect parent are we overlooking the actual needs of a healthy childhood?

Our memories play a crucial role in shaping our personalities, and childhood memories, whether numerous or scarce, positive or painful, have a lasting impact. As a society and as parents, are we ensuring that our children have positive memories to cherish in adulthood?

This incident triggered a part of me as it brought back my memories in dealing with certain boards that run the Indian ‘education system’. The consequences could have been damaging but I will laud myself for the proactive parenting and rejecting the label of academic weakness. It led to a change in schools, whilst opting for a Cambridge board with O levels and A levels. The once-labelled 'weak' child excelled and was lauded for original thinking and creativity. Today it is with pride that I see the child turn into a mature adult and has reached middle management in a Big 4 company, with art as a side hustle.

This success was achieved through considerable effort, requiring the undoing of previous damage, and though there were unpleasant moments, the experience emphasizes having faith in one's child and providing the best possible childhood. The key is to avoid comparisons, allowing the future to unfold organically without unrealistic dreams and expectations. Creating a safe haven at home, free from judgment, and living life lightly are essential, especially for the sake of the children. Just let them be.

PARENTING CORNER Consistency Most often than not, we keep telling our children, be consistent, do it regularly and so on and so forth. Have we as parents ever realized, that we ourselves dont follow the concept of consistency.

Reason for not being Consistent - Appended below are some of the reasons why we are not consistent 1. Distracted 2. Peer Pressure 3. Demotivated 4. Indiscipline 5. Mood swings The only way we can be consistent is when we are committed, we believe in what we are doing and in our selves and above all are self motivated .

Our focus is more on jack of all and master of none, and that makes us enroll our kids in multiple activities and thus the above reasons kick in.

As parents, we need to clearly identify our child's potential, their liking and allow them to learn a new skill, art or interest. By shifting them after a short span, we actually impair their learning and also convey that we can waiver and hence when they grow up they lack discipline and commitment too When children are consistent in their learning, they show results and get motivated to do even better. FIN - GURU - CONTRIBUTION वित्त प्रबंधन में महिलाओं की भूमिका

पिछले दशकों में भारतीय अर्थव्यवस्था में महिलाओं की भागीदारी कई मायनों में बढ़ी है। जब हम राष्ट्र की बात करते हैं तो राष्ट्र की या समाज की सबसे छोटी इकाई की प्रासंगिकता को नकार नहीं सकते। व्यक्ति से परिवार, परिवार से समाज, समाज से राष्ट्र बनता है। अतः अगर हम वित्तीय पहलुओं को राष्ट्र के सन्दर्भ में समझना चाहें तो पहले हमें परिवार के स्तर पर इसे समझना भी होगा, जांचना भी होगा। आज के एकल परिवार व्यवस्था में एक महिला पुरुष के साथ कं धे से कं धा मिलाकर परिवार की वित्तीय व्यवस्था में पूरा रोल निभाती है। यह कहना भी अतिशयोक्ति न होगा कि परिवार के वित्तीय संचालन में औरत या गृहिणी की ही मुख्य भूमिका रहती है। और जिस घर में घरेलू वित्त का संचालन गृहिणी के हाथ में नहीं रहता उस परिवार का संतुलन बिगड़ना अवश्यंभावी है। अगर कोई पुरुष घर के खर्चो के लिए मासिक रुपये पचास हजार निर्धारित करता है तो गृहिणी वही खर्च तीस या चालीस हजार में निकालकर महीने में आराम से दस बीस हजार बचा लेती है। 2016 में हुए विमुद्रीकरण को आज तक कौन भूला सका है जहां सामान्य परिवारों की महिलाओं के पास से भी 500 और 1000 के जमा किये नोटों का भंडार निकला था। कोविड 19 के समय भी जब मर्दों की कमाई का जरिया ही ख़त्म हो चला था तब गृहिणीयों का बचाया हुआ धन ही घर चलाने का जरिया था। ऐसा अद्भुत वित्त संचालन तो IIT का होनहार MBA भी नहीं कर सकता। घरेलू बचत ही नहीं, अब तो महिलाएं बाहर के कार्यों में भी पूरी भागीदारी निभाने लगी हैं। आजकल तो पेट्रोल पंप, यात्री परिवहन, शिक्षण, सफाई, दुकानों, सरकारी और गैर-सरकारी कार्यालयों में भी महिला कर्मचारियों की भागीदारी बढ़ती जा रही है। बड़े बड़े वित्तीय संस्थानों में भी महिलाओं का वर्चस्व दिखाई देता है। यह वित्तीय संसाधनों के संचालन में महिलाओं की बेहतरीन भूमिका पर ही रोशनी डालता है। घरेलू जिन्दगी में ऐसे अनेकों छोटे छोटे पहलु हैं जिनसे गृहिणी की भूमिका समझ तो आती है पर पुरुष के दंभ के चलते वह इन मुद्दों को मानने से झिझकता है। याद कीजिये वे दिन जब घर में तंगी होती थी तब मां या दादी कहां कहां से रुपये निकाल कर घर का वित्तीय संतुलन बनाये रखती थी। कभी चीनी या चावल के डब्बे से, कभी पलंग पर बिछे गद्दे के नीचे से, कभी अपने स्टील या अलुमिनियम के छोटे से बक्से से, या फिर घर की रद्दी बेच कर। पुराना बे जरूरत का सामान दे कर नये बर्तन लेने का काम तो गृहिणी अब भी करती हैं। कभी घर में खाना चार जनों का बना हो और दो मेहमान आ गए तो उसी भोजन से छह जनों का पेट कै से भरना है यह एक सुघड़ गृहिणी से बेहतर कौन जान सकता है। दोपहर के बचे हुए भोजन से अलग रेसिपी में शाम का भोजन बना कर परोसने की कला एक गृहिणी को ही आ सकती है। अब आप इन सारे प्रकरणों को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर देखें और सोचे कि अगर वही गृहिणी राष्ट्र का वित्त प्रबंधन करे तो क्या नहीं कर सकती। भारत के वित्त मंत्रालय की मुखिया आज एक महिला ही है जिनका नाम है आदरणीया निर्मला सीतारमण जिन्होंने पिछले कई वर्षों में भारतीय अर्थ व्यवस्था को एक नया आयाम दिया है। आज के इस लेख को मैं यहीं विराम देता हूं। अगले अंक में मैं इसी विषय को थोड़ा और आगे बढ़ाने का प्रयास करूं गा। आप सभी को यह लेख कै सा लगा इस पर अपने विचार प्रस्तुत करें। किसी भी पाठक के मन में कोई भी सवाल हो तो मदरहुड क्लब के जरिये पूछ सकते है। मेरी पूरी कोशिश रहेगी कि आपके सवालों के जवाब दे सकूं । - सीए रतन कु मार अगरवाला

Winter Sun Am sure you have heard this story told, Passed on from generations old.

Of a fight between the wind and sun, Of who is powerful and who won.

कु छ प्रश्न स्वयं से ?

हम सबका जाने-अनजाने, जीवन जिससे बनता है। ग्रंथ-पुराणों में सच पूछो, वहीं सभी कु छ मिलता है।।

है सब समय का खेला, जीवन है सुख दुख का मेला,

हर चेहरा क्यों उदास नजर आता है? उजले लिबास पर दाग नजर आता है। परदे के पीछे, क्यों रोती हैं ज़िंदगानियां ? हर शख़्स ख़ुद से बेज़ार नज़र आता है।

युग की आवश्यकता के नाते, बदल रहे परिदृश्य अपार। किन्तु बदलता नहीं मूलतः प्रकृ ति-पुरुष का सृष्टि प्रसार।। सभी प्रश्न जीवन के इनमें, समाधान पा जाते हैं। वेद-पुराणों में, ग्रंथों में, जो दृष्टांत बताते हैं।। महापुरुष अपने जीवन में, महाकर्म कर जाते हैं। रामायण, गीता में उनकी, झलक वही तो पाते हैं।। भारत के घर-घर में गूंजे, योगेश्वर का गीता ज्ञान। राम सिया के आदर्शों पर, रामायण से करें प्रयाण।। उपनिषदों की सरल कथाएं बालवृंद को याद रहें। मात-पिता से भावी पीढ़ी, सार्थक ही संवाद करें।। अनुशासन की स्वस्थ प्रथा, यूं जीवन को गतिमान करे। पुरखों से पाया जो हमने, देश का गौरव-गान बने।। सम्प्रति युग की यही चुनौती, किस विधि रक्षित युवा रहें। अपने सद्ग्रंथों से सीखें, औरों की ना नकल करें।। है संतोष ही, सुख की कुं जी, धैर्य, शौर्य धारण कर लें। करें पराक्रम लक्ष्य प्राप्ति का, अखिल विश्व पर चरण धरें।। - डा. तारूणी कारिया

Journey of a flower I open my petals to the rising Sun, Letting the soft rays caress my soul ....

Heady fragrance in the air, intoxicating so many lovers on the fray, All the rainbows cover them happily while they enjoy their romantic day.

Suddenly rough hands appear from nowhere , They snatch me from my bed , I am shocked, I am scared.

All the rainbows now lie cramped in a basket , On the way to the elusive flower market .

#mightymonday - Story Writer of the Month दान राजन रोज भिक्षा मांगने जाता था और भिक्षा में मिले पैसों और खाने से अपना काम चलाता था। वह एक पढा लिखा नौजवान था, लेकिन आलसी होने के कारण उसे हर जगह से निकाल दिया जाता था। एक दिन उसने मंदिर के भंडारे में देखा कि कितने ही अमीर लोग आते हैं और दान देते हैं, उसे लगा यह तरीका अच्छा है। ज्यादा मेहनत भी नहीं करनी पड़ेगी। वह रोज भिक्षा मांगने चला जाता और लोग उसे दान में पैसे, खाना, कपड़े आदि दे देते। उसके माता पिता बहुत परेशान थे और रोज भगवान से प्रार्थना करते, राजन को सद्बुद्धि दो, कोई लक्ष्य दे दो। राजन और उसके पिता रोज बहस करते और राजन की माता इस कारण बीमार पड़ गई। एक दिन राजन को भिक्षा में एक बहुत भारी पोटली मिली, राजन की खुशी का ठिकाना नहीं था, आज तो लगता है बड़ा दान मिला हैं, लगता है मेरी जिंदगी बदलने वाली है। राजन घर पहुंचा और खुशी खुशी अपने कमरे मैं जा रहा था कि फिर उसके पिता ने उसे टोका, राजन ने पलट के बोला, आज के बाद सब बदल जाएगा। मेरा वक्त बदल गया है और अब मुझे इतना बड़ा दान मिला है कि मुझे अब कु छ करने की आवश्यकता नहीं पड़ेगी। पिताजी ने कु छ नहीं कहा और उपर आसमान की और देखते हुए भगवान से बोले, आप मेरी क्यों नहीं सुनते ? अचानक बिजली चमकी और बत्ती चली गई, राजन का सब्र खत्म हो रहा था। उसने मोमबत्ती जला के जैसे ही पोटली खोली, बत्ती लौट आयी और राजन जोर से चिल्लाया। उसकी चीख सुन पिताजी उसके कमरे में आए और देखा कि एक प्यारी सी बच्ची गुलाबी कपड़े में लिपटी हुई है। "राजन ये क्या ले आया तू, तेरा दिमाग ख़राब है क्या?" "मुझे नहीं पता ये किसकी बच्ची है और किसने मुझे ये पोटली दी, मैं इसे कल मंदिर के बाहर छोड़ आऊं गा। आप जाएं यहां से और मुझे सोचने दें।" बच्ची राजन को देख मुस्कु राने लगी और एक दम रोने लगी। राजन को लगा उसे भूख लगी है, वह बाजार से उसके लिए मिल्क फार्मूला लेके आया और बोतल भी। रात भरा उसका ध्यान रखा और अपने सीने से लगाए रखा। सुबह जब वह उठा, तो समझ नही पाया कि उसे इस बच्ची से इतना लगाव क्यों हो रहा है? तैयार होके वह उसे मंदिर ले के जा रहा था और अचानक उसके पैर रुक गए और वह वापस घर की और चलने लगा। घर पहुंच के उसने पिताजी और माताजी को बोला, "आज मेरी जिंदगी बदल गई, मुझे मेरा लक्ष्य मिल गया, मैं इस बच्ची की परवरिश करूं गा और ऐसी फें की हुई नवजात बेटियों को घर दूंगा, उन्हें अपना नाम दूंगा। पिताजी ने फिर एक बार आसमान की और देखा और नमन किया और मन ही मन भगवान का इस खूबसूरत दान के लिए धन्यवाद दिया। आज राजन 20 बच्चियों का पिता कहलाता है, और फें की हुई बच्चियों को दान समझ के उसे प्यार से स्वीकार कर उनकी परवरिश करता है। इस कार्य में सबसे पहले मिली हुई बच्ची दानवी भी उसकी मदद करती है। कु छ दान हमारी ज़िंदगी बदल देते हैं, ऐसा ही कु छ राजन के साथ हुआ। एकता सहगल मल्होत्रा

कु छ अलग तरह की भूख । सुधा को आज सुकू न की नींद आई ।वह अपने बचपन के मित्र से जो मिलकर आई थी और साहित्य , राजनीतिक, राष्ट्रीय फाइनेंशियल प्रकृ तिक जाने कितने विषयों पर सारे दिन विचार विमर्श होता रहा वह सुबह उठकर तरो ताजा़ महसूस कर रही थी । वह नाश्ते की टेबल पर बैठी ,पति पूछ बैठे "क्या बात है आज बहुत सुंदर लग रही हो,मैं तुम्हें हंसता मुस्कु राता देख अत्यंत खुश हूं",और प्यार भरा आलिंगन दे वह बिजनेस मीटिंग के लिए निकल गए । नवीन के जाते ही सुधा ने अपनी बहन को फोन कर सब वृतांत सुनाया। आज मेरी वर्षों की भूख शांत हो गई है नवीन ने बहुत सुविधा गाड़ी, बंगला, ऐशो आराम सब दिए हैं, वह एक बेहतरीन पति हैं ,मुझे उन से कोई शिकायत नहीं है किंतु वह मेरी मानसिक भूख को कभी नहीं समझ सके । उन के लिए पैसों का हिसाब किताब ही ज़िंदगी है। मुझे इंटेलेक्चुअल स्तर पर बात करने वाला कोई नहीं मिला। आज सुनिल से मिलकर सब विषयों पर खूब चर्चा की तो बहुत अच्छा लगा, मुझे लगा मेरी भूख शांत हो गई है। बहन सुनंदा हंस दी " सुनील को मैंने ही भेजा था,पगली अब जा पति के साथ घूमकर आ,रात को किसी रोमांटिक जगह पर डिनर करना ।" और दोनों बहनें खिलखिला कर हंस दीं। किरण दत्ता

Charity Sundari Gehri was a fashionable socialite. She was a part of many charitable institutions and often made headlines. Her husband was a business magnate and she did not have any dearth of money or manpower. She would get up at around 8 every morning and after a breakfast of fruits and home made delicacies, (which she would criticize no end and scold the cook) have a bath get ready and be off to her various appointments. She had a 14 year old daughter Nyasa who was taken care of by an old trusted and affectionate ayah Nirmala. Sundari had no clue about her daughter's hobbies, friends, the places she went to etc. One day Nirmala noticed Nyasa come home early and shutting herself up in her room. Even after repeated enquiries she had no clue as to what was troubling her.

Thinking that matters would settle on its own, Nirmala let go. But when she noticed that this behaviour was becoming the norm, she went to Sundari and told her everything.

Instead of talking to her daughter and giving her confidence, she berated Nirmala of not taking good care of her and making a mountain out of a molehill. She said," Maybe, she had a tiff with her best friend and wants to be alone. Why do you see something which is not there?" Nirmala tried her best to explain how she persuaded the child to open up but everything fell on deaf ears. Things came to a pass when one evening, Nirmala found Nyasa vomiting and shivering uncontrollably. Without a minute's delay, she phoned the doctor and was shocked at his diagnosis. He immediately called Sundari home. Though she was irked at having to cancel her speech and lunch at the Arunodaya Orphanage, she came back. The doctor asked her point blank whether she knew her daughter's routine.

Sundari scoffed and replied,"Nirmala takes care of all that".

The doctor was furious and said" are you the mother or Nirmala? Do you know your daughter is into drugs and if we would have been even a few more days late, it would have been impossible to re-hab her. You are doing a lot of charity outside but it seems you have forgotten the adage 'Charity begins at home'. Whatever said and done, Nirmala cannot take responsibility for your child. You as the mother have to spend time with her become her friend and guide her through right and wrong. I hope this a lesson well learnt". Sundari understood her mistake, hung her head in shame and hugged her Nyasa.

Devil in disguise Kokila adjusted her vision in the steamy and smoky bar to see the figure seated on the table at the far right.

He was a short man, no more than about 5 ft 5 inches tall, probably slightly less as it was difficult to tell. She was sure he wore lifts in his shoes. In a strange way he almost, almost, looked like Shahid Kapoor but you’d have to squint or be slightly cross-eyed to see him that way. He had full lips and a cigarette dangled from his lips that added to his sexy swagger. Kokila couldn't take her eyes off him. He wasn't anything like how he had described himself in his profile on the dating app.

But then, neither was she !! She had described herself as slim, svelte, tall , fair and model material...all of 18 years old. In reality, Kokila or Koki was a fat, short, stumpy kid with a pimply face and introverted disposition, only 16 years old !!

She walked up to him with hesitation and introduced herself and was pleasantly surprised to see that his reaction wasn't as alarming or shocking as she had expected. 'I knew that you are hiding behind a facade, Koki', he said, warming up to her almost immediately. I am here to meet Koki who is beautiful at heart and I am pleased to meet her'. Koki was immediately mesmerized. No one had loved her for 'herself'. Fat, Pimply, Short Brinjal, Kaddu, Football, Ullu had been her nicknames and no one expected her to "ever inspire love in anyone". No one knew that Koki was a gifted singer whose voice could melt mountains.

Kabir was talking about himself. He was a Tik Toker who made music and dance videos.

They started meeting frequently but only in infamous pubs or remote parks, away from the public eye. "I don't want my 'shona' to get into trouble. You are underage and I could get arrested for courting a minor", Kabir would offer by way of explanation. Koki would be mollified and do anything to please him, including giving up her virginity and selfrespect. She was so grateful to him for finding her 'lovable'. She trusted him completely and ignored the red flags in Kabir's personality.

Devil in disguise Cocky and malicious, he thought the world owed him. She could see the flick of the head as he spun another beguiling thread to tie her up in his emotional web.

He took it for granted that she would be happy to support him. He took it for granted that she would happily leave everything that was dear to her for him, not realising that it was 'her situation" that was supporting him, not her.

She was conned by this man. He made her feel like a million dollars when inside her fat self she felt totally unloved. He told her to stop singing as it was a ' bazaaroo art'. "You resemble an elderly courtesan whose body has grown slack but she still tries to lure her customers with her voice', he sneered. If she protested, he dangled the threat of ' leaving her' . The thought of being lonely and unloved made Kokila shiver and shudder. Then, one day, she caught him making out with her best friend Eva .

When she confronted him, he had the audacity to slap her across her face and say, ' Yes, I am having an affair with her since she is far more beautiful and desirable than you'.

Kokila tearfully said, ' but you loved me despite my looks" and both Kabir and Eva laughed maliciously. Kabir had recorded a mu sic video with Eva in the lead (using Koki's voice) and now the song had gone viral, flushing Kabir with riches and fame.

Kokila painfully recounted how he had deceived her and dumped her when it no longer suited him to make any further effort. She wondered how many other women he had stolen from before her. How many others who were less than confident, persuaded by him that he was all that they would ever need? The same pattern used over and over again to burrow and creep into their hearts. How many proposals, how many successes celebrated, how many gifts bought and lavished because " he was good looking and suave and worthy of all the attention and pampering ".

Kokila stifled a sob as she vowed to steer clear of such devils in disguise.

पीढ़ियों का अंतर Generation Gap यानि पीढ़ियों का अंतर अर्थात दो या उसे अधिक अलग अलग पीढ़ी के लोगों के बीच समरसता की कमी। विभिन्न पीढ़ियों के लोगों के बीच विश्वास और विचारों के असमान और पृथक भाव को ही पीढ़ी के अंतर के रूप में जाना जाता है। दो अलग अलग दौर के व्यक्तियों के बीच में यह असमानता एक स्वाभाविक स्थिति है। 1960 के दशक के समय के आसपास एक अनुसंधान हुआ, जिसमें युवाओं से अलग अलग मुद्दों पर विचार पूछे गए और पाया गया कि प्रायः मुद्दों पर उनके विचार उनके माता पिता से बिलकु ल भिन्न हैं। इन मुद्दों में उनकी धार्मिक आस्था, राजनीतिक सोच, नैतिकता, रिश्तों की अहमियत, संस्कृ ति, सामाजिक अनुबंध आदि अनेक मुद्दों पर सवाल किये गए। इससे इस बात का जायज़ा मिला कि कै से इन मुद्दों पर युवाओं ने ख़ुद को अपनी पिछली पीढ़ी से अलग किया। इस विश्लेषण से एक बात सामने आई कि इन मतभेदों का मूल कारण बच्चों और उनके माता-पिता के बीच मानसिक संघर्ष है। यह वास्तव में एक अद्भुत अवधारणा है। अगर दो पीढ़ियों के बीच यह अंतराल नहीं होता तो शायद बदलाव का जज़्बा जो किसी भी समाज के उत्थान के लिए आवश्यक है वह उत्पन्न नहीं होता और तब शायद नये नये अविष्कार भी नहीं होते। मानसिक, बौद्धिक और शारीरिक अंतराल के कारण समाज कई परिवर्तनों से रूबरू हुआ है। इन परिवर्तनों में सबसे अहम् है संयुक्तपरिवार की अवधारणा में बदलाव। आजकल लोग एकल परिवार को ज्यादा तवज्जो देने लग गए हैं और यह पारिवारिक असहिष्णुता का एक मूल कारण बनता जा रहा है। आजकल लोग अपनी प्राईवेसी यानि गोपानीयता को ज्यादा महत्व देते हैं जो पारिवारिक विघटन और पीढ़ियों के अंतराल का एक अहम् कारण है। आजकल बच्चे अपने आप में सिमटे रहना पसंद करते हैं। बड़ों की बातें उन्हें नाग़वार गुजरती हैं और दोस्तों की बातों पर उन्हें ज्यादा भरोसा होता है। जरूरत है तो आपसी समझ और स्वीकृ ति के जरिये इस विरोधाभास को मिटाने की और युवा शक्ति को एक सही दिशा देने की। कु छ पंक्तियों के साथ अपना लेख यहीं समाप्त करना चाहूँगा... युवाओं को अब अपने मन में, चेतना जगानी होगी, क्या सही क्या गलत इस की प्रेरणा भी लानी होगी। भविष्य जिन कं धों पर, उन्हें भविष्य सुधारना होगा, आज की युवा पीढ़ी को, कदम साध के रखना होगा। बुजुर्गों को कल के लिए, अनुभव की राह बिछानी होगी, युवाओं के मन में उनको, जीवन की चाह जगानी होगी। समाज और युवाओं के बीच, समन्वय सेतु बनना होगा, करें युवाओं का मार्ग दर्शन, सही निर्णय हेतु चलना होगा। - सीए रतन कु मार अगरवाला

एक सिक्के के दो पहलू यह बात तो सभी को पता होती है कि एक सिक्के के दो पहलू होते हैं, मगर हम सभी अक्सर ही भूले रहते हैं इस बात को। तो दोस्तों! चलिए आज मिलकर यही बात जो भूली हुई है, साथ में मिल कर याद करते हैं।

मेरे साथ तो यह अक्सर ही होता है, बल्कि सच कहूं तो ज़्यादा ही होता है और कु छ समझदार लोग नहीं भी भूलते हैं, मगर थोड़ी देर के लिए तो सभी के लिए दोनों पहलू याद रखना मुश्किल हो ही जाता है। कभी कभी भूलना स्वाभाविक भी है, मगर जब थोड़ी देर से ज़्यादा होने लगे यह भूल, तो याद करना चाहिए दूसरा पहलू, यहां पर मैं बात कर रही हूं "सुख"और "दुःख" की। सुख - दुःख जीवन के अभिन्न अंग हैं और ये चक्र चलता रहता हैं, जब हम सुख में होते हैं तो जीवन को आराम से जीते हैं मगर वहीं एक दुःख की बात पर पिछले सारे सुख भूल जाते हैं। ऐसा हम क्यूं करते हैं? हां, दुःख की घड़ी में ऐसा ही होता है, मगर हमें दोनों ही पहलू सदैव याद रखने चाहिए। हमें यह सोचना चाहिए की एक दुःख की छाया से हम सुख के पौधे को सींचना नहीं छोड़ सकते। एक दुःख सारे सुखों को भला कै से बर्बाद कर सकता है?

हमें यह सोचना चाहिए की एक दुःख हुआ तो क्या हुआ सुख तो कई हैं हमारे पास, सदैव दुःख से निकलने का मार्ग ढूंढना चाहिए और दुःख को सुख के नीचे रखने का प्रयास करना चाहिए। इस वास्तविक सत्य से अवगत रहना चाहिए कि जीवन में सुख - दुःख दोनों ही इस जीवन चक्र का हिस्सा हैं जिससे बचा तो नहीं जा सकता। लेकिन यह चक्र गतिमान है, दुःख रुकता नहीं, सुख आएगा ही, चक्र चलेगा और उसी के साथ जीवन की यात्रा भी चलती रहेगी। हमें भी किसी एक कारण पर ठहरना नहीं चाहिए, रुकना चाहिए, थोड़ा रुकना जरुरी होता हैं मगर रुक ही जाना सही नहीं। प्यारे दोस्तों ! कभी भी दुःख के आगे कई सारे सुख भूलने नहीं चाहिए, क्यों कि दुःख इतने बड़े नहीं जितने सुख हैं। यह बात तो मानना ही होगा हम सबको। तो हम सभी प्रसन्न रहें और जीवन के लिए ईश्वर का आभार प्रकट करें, मनुष्य जीवन ही सबसे बड़ा सुख है। - श्वेता भार्गव

जीवन में धैर्य और संयम क्यों आवश्यक है ? लोग कहते हैं कि क्रोध नहीं करना चाहिए लेकिन मेरा मानना है कि क्रोध भी जीवन की एक प्राकृ तिक क्रिया है जैसे हंसना, बोलना, रोना, गाना आदि आदि। कोई भी मनुष्य जानबूझकर क्रोध नहीं करना चाहता। लेकिन कभी कभी न चाहते हुए भी क्रोध आ ही जाता है। कई बार परिस्थितियां हमें क्रोध दिला देती हैं। लेकिन यह हमारी समझदारी है कि उस स्थिति में हम कै से अपने आप पर संयम रखें। क्योंकि जब हम क्रोध की स्थिति में होते हैं तब हमारा नियंत्रण न तो हमारी बुद्धि और न ही हमारी वाणी पर रह पाता है और दूसरा व्यक्ति जो हमें क्रोध दिलाता है, वह अपने मन की बात न कह कर हमारे क्रोध की अग्नि को और प्रचंड करने का प्रयास करता है। इससे हमारा क्रोध और भड़क जाता है। लेकिन यदि हम उस समय अपने क्रोध को शांत करके , अपने आप को संयमित करके अपने धैर्य का परिचय दें तब हम परिस्थितियों पर पूर्णतया काबू पा सकते हैं। यदि हम स्वयं पर संयम नहीं रखते तो हमारी बनी हुई बात और बने हुए काम भी बिगड़ जाते है। इसके साथ-साथ हमारी प्रतिष्ठा तो नष्ट होती ही है, समाज में भी हम उपहास का पात्र बन जाते हैं। अपना काम तो हम बिगाड़ते ही हैं इसके साथ-साथ हम अपने स्वास्थ्य को भी नुकसान पहुंचाते हैं। हमारे बड़े बुजुर्ग कहा करते थे कि यदि आपको क्रोध आए तो आप तत्काल पानी पी लो या उस जगह से थोड़ी देर के लिए हट जाएं। कु छ देर बाद आपको अपने आप समझ आ जाएगा कि क्रोध का कोई कारण ही नहीं था और जो बात इतनी बढ़ गई, वह समस्या तो बातचीत के माध्यम से भी सुलझाई जा सकती थी। यदि हम ठीक समय पर अपने धैर्य का परिचय देते हुए बिगड़ी हुई स्थिति को सुधार लेते हैं, तब हम मान प्रतिष्ठा बचाने के अधिकारी भी बन जाते हैं और स्वयं को भी शांत रख पाते हैं। शांत मन का होना बहुत ही अनिवार्य है क्योंकि शांत मन में ही शांत दिमाग निवास करता है। यदि हमारा दिमाग शांत होगा तभी सुविचारों की उत्पत्ति हो सकती है। यदि हमारे विचारों में ही उथल-पुथल रहेगी तो हम अपने जीवन में कभी भी संयम और धैर्य का समावेश नहीं कर पाएंगे। संयम और धैर्य के बिना हम अपने आप को तो हानि पहुंचाएंगे ही और साथ ही साथ अपनी मान, प्रतिष्ठा और स्वास्थ्य को भी खो बैठें गे। इसलिए हमारे लिए अति आवश्यक है कि हम अपने जीवन में संयम और धैर्य को सबसे अधिक प्राथमिकता दें। धैर्य और संयम को साधने के लिए हम नित्य ही ध्यान लगाने ( मेडिटेशन ) का प्रयत्न करें, साथ ही अच्छे लोगों की संगति में रहें तो बहुत ही लाभ होगा। इसके अलावा संगीत और साहित्य भी हमारे जीवन को एक व्यवस्थित रूप देने में सक्षम हैं। जितना हम जीवन की भागम भाग में लगे रहेंगे, थोड़ी देर ठहरना नहीं सीखेंगे, हमारे व्यक्तित्व का सुगठित रूप से विकास नहीं हो सके गा। दुर्बल चरित्र के लोग ही ज़्यादा क्रोधित होते हैं, कहते हैं ना " थोथा चना बाजे घना"। अपनी बात को तोल मोल कर बोलना, अपने विचार प्रवाह पर काबू रखना और परिस्थिति का पूर्ण विवेचन किसी भी अप्रिय परिस्थिति को टाल देता है। सुंदर समाज एवं राष्ट्र के निर्माण हेतु यदि हम सभी अपनी अपनी जिम्मेदारी मान कर अपने चरित्र को सुदृढ़ कर लें तो निश्चित ही सफलता हमारे कदमों में होगी। पूनम भटनागर

सहानुभूति और समानुभूति दोस्तों ! आज से कु छ समय पहले मैंने एक ऑनलाइन सेशन ज्वाइन किया था जिसमें हमारा विषय था सहानुभूति। सहानुभूति के ऊपर सभी ने अपने-अपने विचार रखे और सहानुभूति के लिए क्या चीज जरूरी है, कै से बच्चों को सिखाया जाए, कै से पढ़ाया जाए... इन सब के बारे में चर्चा हुई लेकिन सहानुभूति के साथ ही वहां एक और शब्द चर्चा का विषय बन गया था वह था एंपैथी( empathy )। तो जब एंपैथी के बारे में लोगों से पूछा गया, उनसे बातचीत की गई तो मैंने देखा कि एंपैथी के बारे में जैसे किसी को कोई खास नॉलेज ही नहीं थी सब सिंपैथी को ही एंपैथी समझ रहे थे जबकि सिंपैथी और एंपैथी में बहुत फर्क है। न ही ये शब्द के वल व्यवहारिक तौर पर, बल्कि शब्द अर्थ में भी ये बहुत ही अंतर लिए हुए हैं। जहां पर हम सिंपैथी का मतलब सहानुभूति से लेते हैं वही एंपैथी का मतलब होता है समानुभूति। तो यहां पर जब एंपैथी (समानुभूति) के विषय में पूछा जा रहा था तो कोई भी इसके बारे में विस्तृत जानकारी नहीं दे पाया। मैं आज आपको सहानुभूति और समानुभूति के विषय में कु छ जानकारी देना चाहती हूं। आज जो समय चल रहा है इसमें जरूरी है कि दिलों में सहानुभूति तो हो ही लेकिन साथ में समानुभूति भी साथ-साथ पनपनी चाहिए। देखिए यह कै से एक्सप्लेन कर सकते हैं ? या इसका उदाहरण दे सकते हैं... , जैसे कि हम कहीं जा रहे हैं हमने किसी बच्चे को गिरा हुआ देखा, कोई बच्चा गिर गया है तो हमारे मन में उसके प्रति सहानुभूति जागेगी, कोई बीमार को देख लिया तो हमारे मन में उसके प्रति सहानुभूति आती है, कोई गरीब को देखने या किसी और जरूरतमंद को देखें तो कई बार हमारे मन में सहानुभूति जागती है न कि समानुभूति। लेकिन यहां पर हमको सहानुभूति के साथ-साथ समानुभूति की भी जरूरत है। हम यहां यह समझें कि के वल सहानुभूति (सिंपैथी) दिखाने से कु छ नहीं होगा आपको उसे महसूस भी करना है जो सामने वाले को दर्द महसूस हो रहा है, जो जिस परिस्थिति से गुजर रहा है उस स्थिति को ख़ुद महसूस करना, अनुभव करना यह होती है समानुभूति (एंपैथी)। सहानुभूति में हम के वल किसी की पीड़ा को देखकर आगे निकल सकते हैं लेकिन समानुभूति में जब सामने वाले को कोई पीड़ा होती है तो हम उस पीड़ा को महसूस करते हैं और जब कोई पीड़ा हमें स्वयं महसूस होती हैं तो नैचुरली हम उसकी मदद के लिए आगे बढ़ेंगे। अगर यह बात हम स्कू ल से ही, घर से ही, बच्चों को भी सिखाएं कि सहानुभूति और समानुभूति दोनों को ही अपने मन में स्थान दो, तो यह हमारे और समाज के उज्ज्वल भविष्य के लिए बहुत जरूरी है। यहां मेरा उद्देश्य के वल (सिंपैथी और एंपैथी) सहानुभूति और समानुभूति को लेकर आपको थोड़ी सी जानकारी देना है। मन में सहानुभूति तो रखिए लेकिन समानुभूति के साथ मदद के लिए आगे बढने की कोशिश कीजिए। मदद करो, सहायता करो जितनी हो सकती है, उतनी कीजिये, जैसे हो सकती है वैसे सहायता कीजिए। इन दो शब्दों के बीच में लोगों में जो असमंजस है, शायद इस लेख के जरिए उसे दूर करने में मदद मिलेगी। रेखा अग्रवाल

The Inspiring Journey of a Self-Taught Lady Auto Rickshaw Driver from one of the villages of Noida In a bustling city where the humdrum of city traffic and the cacophony of urban life reign supreme, one woman stands out as a beacon of inspiration—a self-taught lady auto rickshaw driver who chose this unconventional profession out of pure passion.

Her passion for driving sparked at an early age, fueled by a fascination with the mechanics of vehicles and the freedom that came along with them. Despite societal expectations steering her towards conventional career paths, she decided to follow her heart and embark on a journey of self-discovery.

The initial days were not without challenges. She too faced skepticism and prejudice from some quarters of society, but she remained steadfast in her pursuit. She acquired the necessary licenses and certifications independently, proving that passion and determination could overcome any obstacle.

That paved her way into male dominated world of auto rickshaw driving. Passengers were initially surprised but soon found themselves in awe of her expertise behind the wheel. Her commitment to providing a safe and comfortable journey for her passengers earned her respect and admiration.

As she continues to navigate the city's streets, this lady driver remains an inspiration to all who encounter her. Her journey serves as a reminder that passion knows no gender and that breaking stereotypes requires sheer courage and strong determination. This self-taught lady auto rickshaw driver, is not just driving a vehicle; she's steering change and inspiring a generation to embrace their true calling. We salute you.

A trip to Rang Rangeelo Jaipur Khamma Ghani Sa...

Inspite of being a Mumbaikar, my Rajasthani genes always urged me to connect with my desi folks. So when I received a destination wedding invite of my niece near Jaipur, the Royalty in me decided to book our air tickets from Mumbai to Jaipur. So leaving "Aamchi Mumbai, aamchi manas", I decided to reach the land known for it's hospitality and valor, prior to the wedding function.

An architectural marvel, Jaipur is the first planned city of India and is known for its forts and palaces. It was built by Sawai Raja Jai Singh II (ruled 1700 – 1743 CE) after consulting several books and a Bengali scholar Shri Vidyadhar Bhattacharya. All the public and the royal spaces were completed in a span of four years. Jaipur city has a grid pattern, conceived and developed in a single phase depicting beautiful confluence of ancient Hindu, Mughal and Western culture.The palaces in Jaipur were constructed from sandstone that carries the terracotta pink hue and there is also a story that since pink is a colour of hospitality, the Raj painted all the city walls pink before Queen Victoria's arrival which later was named the Pink City.

We landed at 'Jaipur Sanganer Airport' (15 kms away from city) around 9 am and headed straight to our hotel where we were welcomed by a tall curvy moustached Durbaan who was wearing bright coloured dhoti kurta and red yellow bandhani pagadi (a turban), he was playing some traditional folk song on the RAVANHATHHA (an instrument similar to violin). A traditionally dressed woman smiling coyly showered some flower petals and put a red tilak (roli) on our foreheads.The cold winter breeze of December and the motherly welcoming warmth melted our hearts and we were graciously escorted to our Deewan-e- khas(rooms). Since it was 10.30 am already, we crusaded towards the The Amer Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, situated 11 kms from Jaipur on a hill overlooking Maotha lake. Enroute we gorged on Rawat ki pyaaz kachori and moong dal pakodi.

After reaching Amer fort we decided against taking an elephant ride to enjoy the fort’s magnificence. Instead we hired a jeep to enjoy the spectacular view. We marvelled at the beauty of the Diwan-e-aam, Diwan-e-khaas, Summer and Winter Palace, the Sheesh Mahal, the Shiv Temple, the huge cooking pots. The Tour guide's narration of stories and historical facts almost transported us to another era. It took us 3 hours to take the whole tour of Amer palace. We decided to miss the light and sound show and navigated our way back through the cobbled paths once again admiring the intricacy of artwork and taking a part of history in our hearts.

It was lunch time...we were now exhausted and hungry. We requested our driver to take us for an elaborate Rajasthani lunch as I had been longing to eat 'daal, baati churma, kair sangri sabji and freshly churned butter milk'. Since the Jal Mahal was on our way we decided to catch a glimpse of it, the overhead sun and hunger did not allow us to appreciate the beauty of Jal mahal. After clicking a few pictures we decided to visit 'Khazana Mahal' - an exclusive Museum dedicated to Gem and Jewelry. Then we headed straight to the city as we had to satiate our hunger and also see The City Palace. It was almost closing time when we reached but we managed to get the last slot. The City Palace 'is a royal residence stands tall at the centre depicting beautiful fusion of Mughal and Rajput architecture with colorful ornate rooms on each floor.

The tiles, carpets, the mirror room, the museum displaying a rich collection of royal costumes...everything was stunning.The Pritam Chowk is a great place for taking pictures with four sets of decorated doors depicting four seasons. Seeing the largest silver Urn in the world specially made to carry the water from the Ganges by the Raja during his trip to London left me awestruck. One day is insufficient to witness the grandeur of City Palace, but since we were pressed for time we hurried back. Seeing a local guide haggling with a foreign tourist disheartened me.

We also visited the famous Hawa Mahal with 953 windows initially made for royal women to watch the royal processions.

We returned to our hotel as there was not much to see during evening. Next morning we visited the Birla temple and did some quick shopping. I picked a few bedsheets and fabric in Sanganeri and Bagru prints from Bapu bazaar famous for street shopping. I also bought a lehriya saree, a bandhani stole and some handicrafts from Chandpole bazaar for gifting along with colourful lac bangles with mirror work.

Finally it was time to bid adieu to the vibrant city promising myself to be back once more.

Resin art. - By Kavita Drona A small note to introduce my self. My name is Kavita. I love creating different kinds of art, may it be acrylic painting, oils or resin.

I am also fond of stitching and keep making different items like Potli bags, table runners, cushions, embroidery on saris and suits etc Today I will be writing about my latest passion — Resin art.

I remember the day when I was new to Instagram and I was scrolling down when I saw this art which fascinated me to the level that I wanted to try my hand at it. I had to repeat the clip number of times to get the feel of the process.

I did not go for any tutorial to learn this art. It was just my passion to understand and create. Repeated video plays from many artists helped me to understand this art.

But the best teacher is to learn from your own mistakes !

I love what I do every single day & look forward each day to create something new.

Each piece that I create takes me to the next level and makes me more confident to create a new piece .
