Spend some quality time thinking about your year, the highs, the lows, and reset for 2026.

Based on the framework and content of the book Another Door Opens

So, in summary...

Let’s start at high level.

“Until we are free to think for ourselves, our dreams are not free to unfold” - Nancy Kline

So how was your year?

Circle the face that sums it up for you. Why did you choose that face? What could’ve happened to make it a different face (for better or worse)?

Set yourself 1 minute for each one, don’t overthink, write down minimum of 20 things that... was a disappointment was a huge achievement was a success was a joy was a big lesson And then choose one from the list to highlight

Word that sums up the year

Let’s go deeper. Spend 5 minutes thinking about your Life Dashboard this year Make notes about each element, don’t overthink, just go with where your mind takes you. Now rank Red Amber Green. What do you notice? What’s the story?

Pause

Pause is the moment to slow down, notice what this year asked of you, and reconnect with what you needed most. It’s a gentle invitation to reflect without judgment, to be honest about how you feel, and to understand the things that shaped your days.

Restart

Restart is where you begin again with intention This step helps you clarify what matters now, choose the direction you want to move toward, and carry forward the lessons, values, and energy that will support your next chapter.

Use the five steps to think deeper about the year, search for the insights, for the glimmers, acknowledge the highs and lows.

Mess

Mess is where learning lives. This step invites you to acknowledge messy emotions, and to explore what these moments revealed about who you are becoming It’s about finding meaning in the tangled parts of your year.

Play

Play opens the door to curiosity, joy, and possibility This step encourages you to rediscover your sense of wonder, follow small sparks of delight, and imagine new paths without pressure or perfection.

Try

Try is the practice of stepping forward, experimenting, risking, and learning as you go It’s a reminder that progress comes from doing, not knowing, and that each attempt offers valuable insight for what comes next

Pause

Be grounded, notice, and honour what you really needed this year.
