I have been very fortunate to have met many wonderful families over the last 18 years in the real estate business. It is exciting to assist them to move to a new and exciting place and phase of their lives. For me, it has always been about educating people about the area and the market and helping them to make informed decisions. Personal Bio:
We moved to Vermont in 2000 to the Champlain Islands from Isle of Palms, South Carolina, just outside of Charleston where my wife Anne and I owned and operated a Restaurant and Outfitting Business. We wanted to raise our young family in an authentic New England community and share with them the experience of what it means to live on the water and enjoy all that the four seasons offer in Vermont. In 2001, we bought a c. 1860 farmhouse on the lake in Grand Isle, closer to our families in Upstate New York and Massachusetts, where Anne and I grew up. We live there year-round and have a 23 year-old daughter, Alex, who graduated from the University of Vermont and works at the agency as a Marketing & Social Media specialist, and 17 year-old son, Will, who attends South Burlington High School who ski races and plays lacrosse for the Wolves. We love outdoor sports including windsurfing, golfing, boating, and skiing. For many years I coached basketball at Grand Isle School and lacrosse in South Burlington. I would be happy to answer questions about the area and specific properties. Buying and selling waterfront, Island, and country properties is different from most residential real estate transactions. Photography
Photos are the first impression a homebuyer will have of a property so it is so important to have high quality photos. Still photos are taken in HDR (high dynamic range) and lightly edited to make them stand out online while maintaining a true depiction of the home. We take perspective photos to capture the layout and give a sense of spatial awareness of a home. Editorial style photos show small details and main features and are better used on social media or to show a specific feature. Staging is done throughout the photography process as necessary.
Drone: Aerial Photography & Video
Drone photography and video is used to capture aerial views of a property. This is critical when showcasing a lakefront home, land or a large property. Aerial images allow the viewer to have a better understanding of the layout of the land and/or shoreline. All drone footage is shot in 4k Ultra HD.
Video Marketing
Video is key to reaching todays homebuyers. Virtual home tours give the buyer more perspective and agents can send these videos to interested buyers before scheduling a showing to ensure interest. Shorter “highlight” videos are used for social media to promote listings and receive much higher engagement than images.

Our local company website, LakeChamplainRealEstate.com, serves not only as a website that users log onto to search for properties throughout the State of Vermont, but also to educate consumers about the buying and selling process. The website is continuously monitored for best practices in the industry ensuring that we are always aligned with the most current SEO and consumer behavior trends. The website was completely redesigned in 2020 and new content is added to it weekly.
