As the Founder, CEO & President of Xcellence, Inc., I have struggled with weight all my life. I came to the harsh reality that in order for me to fulfill my life’s purpose, I must do something drastic to change my overall health outlook. I have proclaimed that this is my “Year of Yes” and for many of you it is your “Year of Yes!” In order to get what you never had, you’re going to have to do some things you’ve never done. This is a season where God wants to bless his people abundantly, however we must be willing to come out of our levels of comfort to walk into and possess the promise, and territorial land that is already yours.

I am excited to announce in this issue that Xcellence, Inc. is Going Green! What do I mean? As the visionary for this organization, I see God fulfilling many of the promises he has made me. Xcellence, Inc., is growing expeditiously with an expected growth of 5-7,000 new members in 2016, our infrastructure is grounded, set and solid, and on March 12, 2016, I graduated in New Orleans, Louisiana, with my Doctoral degree in Business with a specialization in Marketing. However, there remains one area that has been neglected over and over again, my health. Therefore, I want to share this opportunity with you so that we together, can change our lives inside out to eat the fruit of the land that is destined to us.

When I said Yes to my health, many more doors to making communities across this country both healthier and wealthier appeared. There is something about being obedient to the voice of God. Throughout this issue, you will see many community partnerships and collaborations that has joined with me to make a daily commitment to eat (3) greens a day and exercise a total of 30 minutes. In addition, we have joined Total Life Changes to bring both health and wealth in nutritional products as well as financial opportunities right to your doorstep.

I am finally back and glad to be here, writing again.

We are glad to be launching our newest go green campaign. It’s all about getting your veggies in to balance your lifestyles. It is important for us to be healthy and it has its benefits. Now, I’m going to try to convince you why. One reason why you should be fit is, so that you can face your day with a fresh new start. Instead, of being sluggish and feeling like it has never stopped. A second reason is that your body will be getting stronger as you give it the nutrients it needs to fight off everything in its way. If you are still on the fence here is one more example of why you should come on board with living for your body.

Lastly, the third reason is that you won’t only feel younger, but you will look it too. Finally, you have a reason to lie about your age with impunity (without guilt). “Aniya, but how do I start?”

I’m SO excited you asked. Well, you can start by making a more planned out meal guide with the foods you love. Still making sure, you add your colors (veggies and fruits) to it. Pinterest is a good place to find fun and easy recipes. Make this a priority. You need to want this for yourself enough to work for that dream body you want.

You have to get enough sleep or this will not turn out how you want. Additionally, you have to get those great vitamin sources such as milk, eggs, fruit, veggies, fish, and wheat/grains. So, all in all being in good shape will help your life all around the border.

Robyn Gordon

Robyn Gordon is a 2016 Stellar Award Nominee, Motivational Speaker, and now an Author. Gordon who has had many accomplishments since age 4, and now she has completed her first book at age 11 titled, ‘Stop Bullying.’ Today at age 12, Robyn is a student at West Creek Middle School, and is the member of several clubs, sings in the choir and plays volleyball.

The book, ‘Stop Bullying,’ released in March of 2016, is about a little boy named Robby; he is being bullied by a kid named Steve.

Gordon said, “I know this has happened to a lot of kids. I think it’s a major issue that our youth has to deal with today.”

Gordon says she has experienced some bullying herself, but recognizes that some children she knows have had to deal with being bullied a lot. She hopes her book will inspire her fellow students to do the right thing.

“I think there are a lot of bystanders,” Gordon said. “They see what’s happening, but they are afraid to tell anyone because they might be called a tattletale or something. “I just want to say to those kids, stand up. If I saw it happening at my school, I would definitely stand up and say something.” Robyn Gordon is already talking about her next project, a novel. Her working title is “Escape.”The book will be about escaping the emotional hole that is created in someone’s life when others hurt that person’s feelings. Robyn Gordon has scheduled several book signings and her first Daycare Tour over the summer and would love to visit your city to speak with your youth in which she hopes to inspire youth about the dangers of bullying.

As scary as that moment was, Angella knew she could not turn back. Why? Because so many people were depending on her! Some now deceased such as her Father, Curtis Lee Palmer, Sr., whom she so desperately sought to please and honor for his commitment to her mom and their family, and grandparents from previous generations. Her mother, Mary Ann, daughter, Aniya Flournoy, and a huge future generation to come behind her. Spiritual Leader My name is Pastor Bobby Hall and I am the founder of Under The Cloud Ministry. Pastor Hall shares his ministerial stage along with his wife, soul mate, and partner, Pastor Lisa Hall. My journey to get where I am now has not been easy. Along the way there were some heart aches and pain. I lost my mother, dad, and brother at a young age. After losing them, I started to read the word of God and he gave me so much comfort, peace, and guidance. Later on in life, hard times fell on my wife and I. We had to sell our new home to keep it from going into foreclosure. My family and I were almost homeless. We were staying in motels and sometimes with my mother in law. Being a man, that was really hard for me because my wife and four children were depending on me.

I thank God for his word and his faithfulness, five years later God restored us! Not only did he restore us, but he blessed us with a beautiful ministry from the ground up. Never give up on God because his word is true, if he says it, then he will do it. I love God very much, and I am forever so thankful.

The Plan;God’sTiming

Ecclesiastes 3:11 He has made everything beautiful in its time.

He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

For those of you who don’t know me, I was somewhat of a spoiled brat growing up! My attitude was I want what I want, when I want it! My grandparents on my mom’s side had nearly 20 grandchildren, I wasn’t the baby of the bunch, but I was the baby girl that was always at my grandparents’ house. Everyone catered to me, aunts, uncles, older brothers and cousins. I got everything I wanted when I wanted it. Well, when I became an adult and had a child of my own I had to learn the hard way that what I wanted didn’t necessarily happen when I wanted it to happen. Yes, it took me that long to grow out of this, when I reached adulthood! I know some of you are wondering, why I am giving you part of my life history.

Well just like my life of me being a spoiled brat, God had to show me that it wasn’t all about me and what I wanted, what I wanted, really didn’t mean a thing to HIM. It’s about what HE wanted for me and in his timing. When I tell you God’s timing is so perfect, please believe me.

Waiting on God’s timing is so much better than anything you can conjure up on your own! He knows just when and how to bless you and that blessing is designed specifically for you. God knows where he wants you to be in your life and at what time you should be there.

with waiting on God to do something and you want to take matters in to your own little hands, WAIT ON GOD! HIS timing is so perfect and it will save you a world of trouble.

HE’s the creator of the Heavens and the earth; HE created you so why would HE not supply your needs or take care of that situation? Believe me, when its crunch time and it feels like you’re at the end of your rope that’s when GOD is going to come through! I know you have things all figured out but HIS plan is so much better than yours, he knew where you were going to be right this very moment in your life before HE even formed you in your mother’s womb. So sit tight, have faith, and WAIT on God’s perfect plan – HIS TIMING IS EVERYTHING! I love you, but Christ loves you like crazy!

Jeremiah 29:11New International Version (NIV) For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Trust me when I say God is strategic and HE understands when he needs to bring you out of a certain situation and put you into a different one. HE knows the plans he has for you, those plans are not to hurt or harm but, God’s plans are actually to protect you and make your life better. God can see things and HE knows things that we don’t, so just rest in HIS word. Trust HIS timing! I can remember when I had a set time for everything; when I would graduate from college, when I would get married, and when I would have children. I had all these events on a timeline, but God wrecked my timeline and allowed these events to happen when HE wanted them to happen.

During this whole process of things not going my way; being the spoiled brat that I am, I had to sit back and realize that I am not in control of this – God is in complete control and I need to chill and let him do as HE please.

Just let me make this clear for you, when God blessed me the way HE wanted, according to his plan; it made my life so much better. Had I continue to do things my way and follow my own plan I would be miserable! I want to bring some clarity to your life today. If you are struggling

Xcellence Community Magazine is proud to introduce to our Featured Medical Leader, Dr. Cathy Eng. Her 20-year dedication to the medical industry and her accomplishments are infinite. Based out of Houston Texas, Dr. Eng is one of the top oncologists in the country.

She is one of the 143 doctors at University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

She earned her Medical Degree from the Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Dr. Eng completed her residency training in internal medicine at the Rush-Presbyterian St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois and a fellowship in hematology/oncology at the University of Chicago.

In 2005, Dr. Eng received the SWOG Young Investigator Award. She has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles, abstracts, and book chapters on the treatment of colorectal cancer, and anal cancer. She currently serves as a reviewer for many leading journals such as Cancer, Clinical Cancer Research, International Journal of Radiation Oncology and Biophysics, and Journal of Clinical Oncology. Dr. Eng is listed in The Consumer’s Guide to America’s Top Physicians. “As a medical oncologist and professor, I conduct clinical research at MD Anderson Cancer Center in the Department of Gastrointestinal Medical Oncology.,” said Dr. Eng.

•Why is Colon Cancer Awareness so important to you Dr. Eng? Colon Cancer is the 2nd leading cause of cancer death in the United States. Yes, it is largely preventable cancer. People fail to realize the majority of patients will present with colon cancer spontaneously and not due to an inherited form of Colon Cancer. Furthermore, Colon Cancer originates from a benign growth called a polyp. It takes 5-10 years for a polyp to become cancerous. I still find it hard to believe at times in the U.S., thousands of individuals fail to become screen when age appropriate.

Based on feedback from my patients, it

seems there is a lack of recognition of the life saving possibilities of a colonoscopy or a failure of having an established relationship with a primary care physician. A screening colonoscopy can be lifesaving.

•How has your involvement contributed to the local community?

I hope that our efforts for the Sprint for Colorectal Oncology Prevention and Education (S.C.O.P.E.) race bring awareness to the importance of screening and education.

Although I am an oncologist, through the name recognition of MD Anderson and their standing in the community, we hope that people will realize we do not only focus on treating cancer but ideally to initially prevent cancer.

•Being the heart and soul of the SCOPE Run, how has this enriched your life?

In fact, two individuals serve as the heart and soul of the SCOPE Run. Kimberly Tripp is my counterpart. Each year, seeing all the families, caregivers, and the patients that participate in the run, and to see them cross that finish line is incredibly rewarding. Many of the participants create teams on their own to show support, love, and recognition to a family member or friend. The SCOPE Run event gives me the opportunity to identify with the patients on different levels and provides an opportunity to personally meet their family members, and friend. It is truly a special day. We also choose an annual guest of honor for the race and a young colorectal cancer recipient of the Erin Scott award.

The diagnosis of colorectal cancer in a patient < 50 y/o is rare and represents < 10% of all patients. The Erin Scott award is specifically to bring recognition to a young patient impacted by colorectal cancer and their courageous fight against this disease. Erin Scott was a beautiful young girl in her 20¹s that was my former patient. Unfortunately, Erin was diagnosed with stage IV colorectal cancer when we first met. She lost her fight at an early age but her

Love Yourself Without Limits!

Every person has their own personal story on how they became the person they are at this point in their lives. My story begins as a premature baby that was not expected to live. In the 1980’s premature babies didn’t have access to all of the wonderful advancements in medicine that we hold so dear in today’s society. I was underweight until the age of five. My parents did all they could to help me grow in all aspects of my life. Eventually, I began to gain weight and flourished as a child.

As a pre-teen, my body began to grow exponentially in the areas that should be for older girls and women. I suffered from low self-esteem, and I was overly self-conscious about having clothing that showed my figure that was too mature for my age. I survived my youth because of my family, friends, and my faith in Jesus Christ. I struggled with truly being myself in front of people I wasn’t familiar with on a personal level. Unfortunately, as I got older comments and stares became worse for me. Aside from the outside world voicing its opinion of my disproportioned body, I had severe back aches, neck pain, headaches, and fatigue to name a few symptoms. In my early 20’s I decided to make an appointment to see a plastic surgeon about my options for having a breast reduction.

I was so afraid of what the doctor’s diagnosis would be and of course surgery! The doctor said that I had an overgrowth in my breasts that would continue until I was fully matured. What! Yes, that was my reaction. I’ll leave out the medical jargon, but everything equated to the fact that it was medically necessary for me to have a breast reduction. I never thought I would be faced with a decision early on in my life that would affect my future on so many different levels. I prayed and educated myself on the procedure that needed to be done and waited until I was ready to go through with the surgery. It has been 10 years, and I am so thankful for how God protected me during the surgery and the recovery time afterwards. I had to do more than prepare my body to heal during this time.

It was my heart, mind, and self-image that needed to be nurtured and healed as well. Having a premature baby survive or living through a breast reduction are both common procedures these days, but how it affects each person is different. The journey for me to understand that who I am is not defined by my body started at my birth. I hold firmly to the fact that I am wonderfully made in the image of God. He loves me and He LOVES you too! I shared my story to encourage someone to know that you should see yourself as beautiful, whole, and worthy of love. Don’t judge yourself based on the opinions of others. You have a purpose in this world! One of my favorite scriptures comes from the book of Jeremiah chapter 29 and verse 11, it states “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Live a life filled with hope!

CELEBRATING YOU IN

Celebrating you in 2016 is not a year of false New Year’s resolutions, rather a year of self-reflection and self-restoration. Women, become caught up in the daily routine of work and family; taking care of everyone’s needs and wants. What happens is this; you forget to celebrate you! Men, become caught up in the daily routine of working and providing for the family’s wants and needs. What happens is this; you forget to celebrate you! Have I grabbed your attention thus far?

Celebrating you in 2016 is not about a fad diet or a new short term workout commitment. Celebrating you in 2016 is about taking stock in who you are, what your life accounts for, and how to find a true balance in life. The question needs to be asked; what are you missing in your life that will bring you full balance? This can be a healthy diet, exercise, seeking a new promotion, a new career path, a hobby that you have put off, or simply a relaxing get-away. The choice has to be made by you after a period of self-reflection.

Why self-reflection? Because once you have truly reflected upon your life, your health, all physical, mental, and spiritual components, only then can you arrive at the final solution to finding balance and a new journey to selfrestoration.

Celebrating you in 2016 is about achieving a better version of you! Striving to be the best version of you that is possible and not allowing life to swallow you whole. When life conquers and becomes overbearing, addictions set in. Addictions can be over eating, over working, over spending, or alcohol and drug abuse. Drug abuse is a tuff one, because, many individuals will hide behind the fact that their drugs are prescribed for them. This may be true, but it is still an addiction; only a legal one.

Work overload; “my family needs the extra money”. How many times have we said that one? There is not enough time in the day! I am here to tell you that there is enough time in the day for you. The challenge is managing that time and learning how to celebrate you. This is why we need to conduct self-reflection. Selfreflection allows each of us the opportunity to clean our souls, our minds, our homes, and our list of priorities! What are you waiting for? Take stock in who you are and how you will achieve self-restoration!

Celebrating me in 2016 is about finding that balance, with work, healthy living, and my new research project. As the National Outreach Ambassador for Xcellence, Inc, I am working on a new initiative to research our communities for spiritual leaders. Our world has become a political race that has eluded the foundation of our founding fathers. Our nation was built under God and under God it must remain. of Ministry Meet 1st Lady Honoree, Sharon Donnis.

Sharon is the wife of Pastor Manuel Donis, the Pastor of Rivers of Life Church, located in Grand Junction, Tennessee. She is a native of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania and is one of six children blessed to be reared in a Christian home, and proud to share that she received her call to ministry as a young adult. She became an Ordained Minister under the leadership of her husband in 2006, and serves as co-pastor, psalmist, and choir director. Her spiritual development has prepared the way for the end time harvest of souls and the birthing of God’s presence through praise and worship with her beautiful voice to the nations. Cry aloud, spare not. Lift up your voice like a trumpet and declare to my people their transgression and to the house of Jacob their sins (Isaiah 58:1).

Presently, under Pastor Donis’ leadership, Rivers of Life Church has transitioned from a traditional Baptist church to a fivefold spirit-filled ministry that believes in teaching and living God’s Word. Sharon has supported the spiritual growth of the ministry by teaching the congregation how to usher in the presence of God through worship that touches the heart of God. Meet Pastor and 1st Lady Honoree, Dr. Patricia M. Phillips.

Dr. Phillips serves as Overseer at Power of Change Christian Church, located in Mt. Vernon, Illinois, the second location of Power of Change located in Mount Vernon, Illinois. She is a co-host of Everyday Woman with Julie and Friends on www.tct.tv. In addition to her many roles she also serves as the President of the P.M.P. Ministries; an outreach ministry of P.O.C.C.C. which is a national ministry designed to encourage the Body of Christ to live and pursue the highest will of God in their lives.

Dr. Patricia Phillips is also the president and founder of the First Lady Connection, a ministry designed to bring fellowship and empowerment to pastor’s wives. She has authored several workbooks, including A Journey through Healing to Wholeness and Reconstructing Family Values. Trailblazers International Ministries awarded her the “Keepers of the Flame” Certificate of Excellence and Honor for her service unto the Lord. She was also awarded the Apostolic Pioneering Award, and recognized for her visionary leadership and church growth strategies. Meet 1st Lady Honoree, Kristina Robinson.

Lady Kristina is the angel of the house at Johnson Tabernacle in Greenfield, Tennessee. Kristina has a voice of an angel, but more importantly she also carries the heart of one. She is the loving wife to Pastor Cortney Robinson and an excellent mother to not only her own children but all children she encounters. While attending Union University for a degree in Social Work, she is also currently working for the Jackson-Madison School District.

Lady Kristina is an advocate for the “ rights of women and children.” She is a wonderful motivational and inspirational speaker. Her hobbies include creative art, and gospel singing. When Lady Kristina sings you can truly feel her passion for Jesus. She is a great blessing sent

by God to stir the Holy Spirit within. She loves to watch individuals grow in Christ and lives her life through the scripture Philippines 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”

Community Leader Libia Winn, is a translator for the Hispanic community in Everett, Washington. Her work makes her one of those unsung heroes that we never see. In 2014, our massage therapist introduced Libia and I. To see Libia working her passion on a daily basis, all while empowering others, is truly amazing.

In 1995, Libia worked in a Hispanic foster children community center locate in Seattle Washington, where she volunteered as a Network Coordinator with Familia Unidas. Her role was to take Hispanics to attend citizenship classes and help to find employment. It was during this time that one of Libia’s colleague saw her potential and suggested she start her own business.

Using her experience from her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, and gained knowledge from some accounting classes, in 2001, Libia opened her own consulting business, Focus Servicios Integrales. Her business helps Hispanics translate, complete, and file income tax documents to ensure they are filed on time. In addition, Libia helps them write resumes, find housing, and enroll in English classes at Everett Community College.

Libia enjoys helping and empowering people. Many times the clients are frustrated and feel as if there is no hope, however Libia works hard to show them that she is committed to helping them to get the resources, and services they need. “I recall, one woman I worked with didn’t think I could help her. Shortly thereafter, I began to work with her and it wasn’t long before her confidence level increased. I helped her to land a bank job, which she held for two years. “The key is to give people a framework to become responsible for themselves.” Said Libia.

Libia continues to train herself daily so that she can be a resource to the people that need her help most. She recently went to train for coaching classes in the Dominican Republic. This education and knowledge will allow her to keep empowering the people lives that cross her path. When asked, “How do you encourage others to get involved in community work? She said, invite them to give their time and talent to our great country.”

Our Read Out Loud program is focusing on reading and writing this year. We will be publishing a book called Will You Read it Again?

We are going to make a book with entries from children who will write why they like their favorite book and draw a picture to go with it. In order to enter, please send your entries by email to: maria@marialuchsinger.com. Be sure to include your name and address. Use the page that you can download here on this site.

A portion of the proceeds from this book will be used to purchase books for children and libraries that do not have books or need new books and to our educational scholarship.

We are looking forward to receiving entries until June 30, 2016.

At that time we will compile and publish the book. All children who enter will receive a Certificate of Participation in the Will You Read it Again? book project.

Colorectal Cancer Awareness and Education

Colorectal Cancer was celebrated in March as the National Colon Cancer Awareness Month.

In February 2000, President William “Bill” Clinton made the dedication as a time to increase education and promote awareness activities about colon cancer (CRS).

Learn the True Facts about Colorectal Cancer (CRC).

What is CRC? Cancers occurring in the colon (large intestines) or rectum.

What are the Symptoms?

Early stages may not show CRC symptoms; however, mid-late stages of CRC an individual may experience episodes of seeing blood following a bowel movement. Individuals may also see these signs: changes in bowel habits, such as diarrhea and constipation, change in the size or caliber of the stool, severe anemia, gross blood in the stool, rectal bleeding, and/or abdominal pain or cramping. A medical professional should evaluate any continued presence of any of these symptoms immediately.

Who: 90% of new cases occur in men and 93% of deaths occur in age 50 and older; however, more and more younger individuals are being diagnosed with CRC. Risk factors Heredity and family history, and individuals with the Genetic Syndrome identified as Lynch Syndrome encompass about 5% of persons diagnosed with CRC. Additional persons with a history of adenomatous polyps, diagnosis with Chronic Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Ulcerative Colitis, and Crohn’s Disease, and diabetes may also be at increased risk for developing CRC. Detection/Diagnosis: Always consult a medical professional for proper evaluation and diagnosis

of any condition that presents itself. There are several diagnostic tests that can be utilized that can assist with detection of abnormal masses or tumors in the colon or rectum. I’m going to discuss one procedure in particular that is very useful in diagnosing CRC. Colon screening by a Flexible Sigmoidoscopy or a full Colonoscopy is highly recommended. The colonoscopy allows an Endoscopist to examine the entire colon and rectum. Polyps, abnormal masses, and the lining of the colon can be biopsies for further pathology examination. Polyps and small adenoma can also be removed during the procedure. The pathology examination renders a microscopic interpretation of the removed tissue specimen. If the specimen is determined to be malignant (cancerous), additional tissue testing, and diagnostic procedures are performed to determine the stage of the disease. This collective information is used to develop a treatment, and plan of care regiment.

Many people fear colonoscopy procedures, but early detection and treatment can decrease the mortality rate of the disease. Encourage family, friends, loved ones, and yourself to seek early medical attention for repeated occurrences of abnormal symptoms.

I am Blessed to work with a group of highly educated Medical, Surgical, Radiation, Gastroenterology Oncologist and other professionals from medical disciplines that are doing phenomenal work in the area of CRC education, detection, and treatment. Become educated regarding CRC and together we can promote educational awareness on a continuous basis and not just as a once a year occurrence.

Meet Psalmist & Keyboard Player, Eric Reed

“I was born big” were the first words Eric Reed mentioned as he slightly chuckled. “I was born weighing in a 12 lbs and 12 ounces.

My mom had to take all my infant clothes back to the store to get me a size 2T,” said Eric. “I have not weighed myself in over a year but I remember the scale saying 547, however I have lost some weight, I just do not know the number because my first priority is become healthier and as a result of that I will lose weight,” said Eric.

Eric is not currently taking any medications and although he knew that he needed to lose weight, self-discovery is what has led him to this next challenge in life.

It wasn’t until he lost his father many years ago that he used food as a comforter, and that craving became even more prominent after he lost his mom. According to Eric, “My #1 food sins are sweets, fried foods, and bread, which are enough within themselves to keep me at this size and growing if I don’t change my ways. A good balance to offset is my vegetables.

I love them and has started to add fruits to my daily regimen. I am currently a size 58 and has set my goal to be in a size 44 by October. That month is special for me because shortly thereafter I will be releasing my first solo-artist album. Eric is a well known vocalist and keyboarder in Christian community. He began singing at an early age in a quartet group called the Echoaires. The group was birthed through his mother’s women quartet group called the Gospel Echoes. So you can easily see that music has been and is his life, especially since it is a lasting tribute and connection to his deceased mother. “That is how I started singing, the keyboard was something different. I actually self-taught myself by ear in 2002. Music is my ministry!

There’s no more rewarding feeling from when I can touch believers and even more important nonbelievers through the love of my voice. They will often say, you touched my heart and my soul,” said Eric.

Eric resides in Fayette County but plays for Jones Chapel in Grand Junction, (Hardeman)Tennessee, under the leadership of Pastor Edrick Garrison. The entire church and community has made a decision to rally behind Eric to support him all while living healthier lives as well. Eric has hired a personal trainer and joined the Total Life Changes MLM company to not only improve his health but also increase it wealth. It seems like the perfect combination for the Xcellence, Inc. Go Green Challenge to be Green in Health, Green in Wealth, and Green on Purpose.

I hope the annual SCOPE race results in larger percentage of individuals screening in the greater Houston community. A pleasant surprise is that our annual event has resulted in my own colleagues at MD Anderson being screened. This demonstrates that even expert physicians do not take the time to be screened appropriately. In short, we hope that our event via word of mouth or from a former participant can get the word out about the importance of screening. We hope we can save one life or many lives by encouraging screening.
