Accompanying most app descriptions in this guide, you’ll see a black-and-white-patterned box. These are barcodes that you can scan with the camera on your BlackBerry smartphone to “read” the code. When you do, you’ll automatically be taken to that app’s product details page within BlackBerry App World. To scan a barcode: • Download BlackBerry App World if you haven’t already (find it at au.blackberry.com/appworld in your BlackBerry smartphone’s browser). • Press the Menu key and choose Scan a Barcode. • Click Start Scanning. • Hold your device so that all four corners of the barcode appear on your screen. • Continue to hold the device until the Details screen appears. • Download the app if you choose. To use Scan a Barcode, you’ll need the following: BlackBerry App World; BlackBerry® Device Software 4.5 to 6.0 (click Options, then select About from the BlackBerry smartphone to check the installed software version); a trackpad, trackball or SurePress™ touch screen; a service plan that includes access to the BlackBerry® Browser; a BlackBerry smartphone with a camera.
