SPA, WELLNESS SPACE Academic Work

Location: Zermatt, Switzerland.

This project aims to enhance the one-star Michelin experience of the restaurant of this hotel by seamlessly merging spaces and activities that capture both elegance and the serene nature of the landscape. Inspired by a desire to capture the harvesting process, the design aims to recreate the clean beauty of the Swiss Alps in an indoor context.

The essence is in exhibiting the purity of materials, replicating the natural experience of harvesting,

and transforming the brisk Alpine environment into a spa setting. The project attempts to convey a sense of elegance and simplicity through the use of high-quality materials, neutral color palettes, and alpine-inspired textures. Beyond aesthetics, it aims to create a pleasant spa atmosphere that creates a balance between the cool Alpine feel and the warm, comfy spa zone.

CONTEMPORARY ORTHODOX Academic Work Team: Andrea Daniela Avila, Hermella Markos

The contemporary orthodox concept intend to integrate this latvian home into the environment and culture of the country. Our concept aims to shed light on Latvian ways of life through the paths and designs we create.

The housing is intended for two families who are going to stay in the area for a short period of time.

The purpose is to allow them to live as peacefully as possible, having spaces for sharing thoughts and ideas in the communal areas, while at the same

time giving them the comfort of a private space.

The main idea of this new house is to be functional and flexible, so that it can adapt to the different needs of the families, increasing or reducing the number of bedrooms in each private section without changing the furniture inside. Each of these private areas can comfortably accommodate different numbers of people without feeling too big or too small for them. They can be used for singular artists or families of up to five people.

AR HOUSE Professional work

Team: Andrea Daniela Avila, Alejandra Holguin Job :Planimetry, 3D Modeling, visualization.

The project aimed to integrate the family house with its natural surroundings in Cali, Colombia.

The primary goal was to create a sense of harmony between the built environment and the landscape, allowing residents to enjoy nature from every angle of the house. The elevated location on a hill made it possible to build an infinity pool with unobstructed

views and a one-of-a-kind spatial experience.

The design intended to create a harmonious interaction between the built form and its setting by allowing nature to get into the space as a main character, encouraging occupants to connect with the natural environment on a daily basis.

Renovation CUAN’s building Team: Andrea Daniela Ávila Ramírez | Daniel Andrés Garzón

This project sought to modify the spatiality of the buildings of the Antonio Nariño Urban Center (CUAN) by modifying the façade and moving the housing module on some floors to the opposite side of the façade in order to generate rhythm and play with the circulations, views and light.

The façade was made with a single ceramic piece that could create different

environments depending on how it was assembled. It allowed us to create two different forms of composition, generating different qualities of spaces. The living spaces had a more closed modulation to generate a sense of privacy, while the social areas, which were triple height, had a more open and dynamic façade.

ARCHITECTURE FOR PLAY Thesis work 2020 - 1 The project started in response to the neighborhood of Siete de Agosto’s vulnerable children. They are exposed to all the risks associated with the automotive industry since there aren’t any spaces where they feel free to express themselves, and their parents aren’t paying any attention to them.

According to that, the goal was to establish both public and private spaces where play would be encouraged and where kids would be able to engage in a safer way with the automotive context of the industry.

In order to create safe play areas, it was planned

to implement an urban approach through the use of the undeveloped zones. Making it possible for individuals to get together in new quality areas where they can discover complementing activities for adults, teenagers, and kids.

In order to repurpose the unused space and provide children with a secure environment where they may feel like themselves, the idea also proposed unique game modules that were created in the form of urban prosthetics that would be mounted to facades or interior walls of their parents business locals or houses.

Facade modules for private play Modules designed to let kids have a safe urban experience while still being watched over by their parents and neighbors while at work. This strategy allows the kids the independence they need to have a happier childhood while encouraging the community to take an active role in their safety.

The project consisted of designing a modular sofa for the suite of a Butique hotel in Taranto, Italy. For this, we developed “the labyrinth” as a concept, given that the city at its origin could be considered one due to its underground streets.

From this concept, we began to develop different modules that would allow us to generate different

combinations and “paths” to simulate what a labyrinth would be like, and we created our own pattern that would make this concept even more evident.

Additionally, based on the analysis of the territory, we chose to use materials from the area, such as ceramics and steel.

We created four modules that could be combined with each other to generate endless possibilities and diverse functionalities. These modules were not meant to be used just as a seat; they also serve as a table and a space to lay down.

GREENLINK Project based on sustainability Team: Andrea Daniela Avila, Karen Tannous, Yigit Kantel The project is based on an analysis of sustainability in the field of restaurants and the consumption of food. The approach to this project was through design thinking, so we developed the figure of Tara, a mom who is frustrated for not knowing how to change her consumption patterns towards a more sustainable direction without radically changing her habits. To solve this problem, we developed an application where people can find a network of

sustainable restaurants. Additionally, the app would be connected to the restaurants where a Microgreens planting station is located; here, customers have the possibility of participating in the cultivation of the products served in the restaurant. Finally, the user of the application has the possibility of receiving a gift for their loyalty to the application, so they will receive the same microgreens to take home and produce their own food in the family.
