Harvest Festival and Open House A blue sky and Fall leaves graced this year’s Anderson Center Harvest Festival and Open House (Oct. 17). Students, family members, staff and the community came out to enjoy the beautiful weather and to have some fun, music and food. A good time was had by all! The art room was open and I had the opportunity to meet and talk with the families of many of our students. I was very pleased with the turnout. It was a pleasure to have the opportunity to talk with the families of Ray P. (Rm. 411), Charles S. (Rm. 309), Brandon B. (Rm. 311), Ryan J. (Rm. 308) & Courtney C. (Rm. 313), Hunter S. (Rm. 311) and Kyler P. (Rm. 312). Thanks for coming!! Student art was on display in the Art Room (416) during the Open House (Above and Left).

Noteworthy Cards At Harvest Fest Our Noteworthy Cards were once again on display at the Anderson Center Harvest Festival and Open House. A special “Thank You” to Tiffany S. for setting up and managing the booth. Thanks Tiffany!!! HAVE INFO TO SHARE? Maple Leaf Borders Students also created colorful maple leaves to be used as borders for various bulletin boards around the school, including the “Art News” board (near the cafeteria), my two classroom boards (art room—416), and the hall board (outside the OT office). They were created using the same process as the “Oak Leaves” project (liquid watercolor paints in spray bottles over crayon).

Poppies In honor of Veteran’s Day (Nov. 11th) and the birthday of artist Georgia O’Keeffe (Nov. 15), students created three different paintings of “Poppies.” Ver. 1: Tempera/Watercolor Paint Ver. 2: Watercolor Collage Ver. 3: Georgia O’Keefe Inspired (Pictured in next edition of) The Art News (Far Lft.) Lance H-C. (Rm. 117), (Lft.) A’Vohn H. (Rm. 309), and (Above) John H. (Rm 306).
