French architect. born 12 August 1945 , studied at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris and was a founding member of Mars 1976 and Syndicat de l'Architecture. He has obtained a number of prestigious distinctions over the course of his career, including the Aga Khan Award for Architecture (technically, the prize was awarded for the Institut du Monde Arabe which Nouvel designed), the Wolf Prize in Arts in 2005 and the Pritzker Prize in 2008. A number of museums and architectural centres have presented retrospectives of his work.

Torre Agbar is a 38-storey skyscraper that covers some 50,693 square metres (545,655 square feet) of total surface area.

Construction began on the building in 1999, and in 2005, it was inaugurated as the main seat of the Agbar Group, the namesake company by which it is owned , and includes the local waterworks company, AigĂźes de Barcelona.

CASE STUDY

The Arab World Institute (AWI) was built at the conuence of the Boulevard Saint-Germain to the Seine river near the bridge leading to the island of San Luis and a pier, in Paris, France.

The Institute is located between two mega architectural structures, the huge complex of the Faculty of Science from the south and the massive structure of the Faculty of Literature and Humanities on the river line..

The National Museum is dedicated to the history of Qatar. Symbolically, its architecture evokes the desert, its silent and eternal dimension, but also the spirit of modernity and daring that have come along and shaken up what seemed unshakeable. So, it’s the contradictions in that history that I’ve sought to evoke here.

ONESIZE is a motion graphics design company and thier new office space offers another persuaive example of how redundant industrial buildings adapt particularly well to providing both the pratical necessities and the less tangible qualities that make an inspiring and produtive work place . free of the low-ceilinged , ribbon windowed modularity of the purpose built office block they exit as self-contained worlds , usually generously propotioned and top lit with no views beyond their own walls,opportunities for designers to set an ambitious agenda.

The concept of sustainability has been taken into consideration and it has been employed in the building by taking from the natural elements present in the mountain. The mountain is full of natural elements and minerals as it was used and used in the building appropriately.
