Scholarships The Parks and Recreation Commission believes that no youth should be denied access to Parks and Recreation programs for financial reasons. The Parks and Recreation Foundation makes recreation scholarships available to those who otherwise would not be able to afford to participate in organized recreation activities. Those seeking sponsorships will be asked to complete a Recreation Sponsorship Application Form available through the JC Parks. Sponsorships are generally limited to those receiving benefits from public assistance as designated on the application form. Sponsorship funding is limited to $200 per individual per calendar year and is restricted to ongoing programs conducted by JC Parks staff. Specialized programs of short duration conducted by non-staff members (e.g. baseball clinics) are ineligible for sponsorship funding. All application forms requesting funding for youth programs must be signed by the parent/guardian of the prospective participant. Participants/parents must pay a minimum of 20% of the registration fee for programs for which sponsorship assistance is requested. Questions concerning this service may be directed to Phil Stiles at 634-6482.
