Here are the really important things to remember about feeding babies 12 – 23 months of age:

You should try to feed your baby at least 4 food group every day, and all food color groups, except for the Blue group (animal milk) each week.

• Babies at least 12 months of age can start to have milk.

• Remember to continue to breastfeed your baby while you are introducing foods. You should feed your baby who is 12 –23 months on demand. That means, whenever they want.

• At 12 months, your baby is able to chew many different types of textures (see the chart at the right). Try to include these different textures in their food, it will help prepare them for family foods.

• By the time your child is 12 months of age, you can feed them any recipe in this book. But try to focus on these new recipes to prepare your child to eat from the family pot.
