Things to remember

We know this is a lot of information. Here are the really important things to remember:

• Babies at 6 months of age and 7–8 months of age have different needs in terms of how much, how often to feed them, and what texture is best for them. Look at the charts on pages 71 for guidance.

• Remember that at least four different foods groups each day is the goal but do not feed your baby dairy or dairy products at this age.

• For babies 6 months of age, look for the “first foods” image — these are great foods to get your baby used to solid foods.

• You should continue to breastfeed as you are introducing foods to your baby.
