Mohammad Al Ghurari, 12D Hamdah Shahein, 12C Samin Javdan, 12A Yousuf Kobrosli, 12Dso many skilled orators...
So many skilled orators gathered to gain the opportunity to speak on behalf of their classmates. This was their chance to express their feelings, happiness, gratitude and anxiety about leaving this familiar home to seek new accomplishments. As usual, the judges had the challenge of choosing the best, and the best were many, for all of them spoke words from the heart. So many impressed and dazzled us with their sincerity, confidence, and maturity. The scores were close, but finalists were finally selected.
Again, more rigorous auditions took place, but finally, our anxious finalists rushed to hear the results. Sounds of murmurs, beating hearts, and sighs filled the room but only to be later replaced by wonderful smiles expressing how honored and fulfilled they felt at having been chosen.

I can easily recall all the fondest memories of my school days, from our animal-themed school play in third grade to the bus rides during school trips, and finally, to the day we received our caps and gowns - the moment it truly hit us that we’d made it. We shall never be here again, and there’s something tragically sweet about that. We must savor every hug, every tear, and every sacrifice we’ve endured to be here, as we have all graciously earned the right to walk across the stage with pride and write the next page of our lives - nonetheless owed to our dearest teachers and mentors. This is not the end of our chapter but the beginning of another novel of our lives.
Dana Khawaja-12C, Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud

Reflecting on my experiences at Al Mawakeb, I realize the importance of adding another pillar to this foundation: maintaining healthy relationships. Throughout my academic pursuit, I chased numerous goals, particularly during the pinnacle of my high school journey in grade 12. Achieving these milestones brought fleeting satisfaction, prompting me to ponder, “Is this all?” It dawned on me that focusing on these goals was my greatest regret. Reflecting on my high school years, I recognize that while striving for success, I neglected meaningful relationships. I’m grateful to have learned this lesson early, understanding that while hard work is essential, it should not overshadow the importance of human connections.
Jaafar Jawad-12B, Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud
Hamzah Jeha-12D, Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud

One of the most important lessons we learned during our sweet time at Al Mawakeb is the value of perseverance, which shaped our decisions and outcomes. Throughout our academic journey, we have encountered challenges and experienced moments of doubt. Still, it is during these times that we have learned to persevere, push through obstacles, and never give up on our goals. Also, we have discovered the strength to persevere even when the path ahead seemed daunting, a quality embodied through an ideal student at Al Mawakeb. Al Mawakeb has taught us endless lessons, encouraging us to strive for greatness and excellence. As we bid farewell to this chapter of our lives and step into the vast unknown of our futures, let us carry the lessons we’ve learned, the friendships we’ve made, and the memories we’ll always cherish.
Layla ElGhaziri-12F, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha

Let us take a moment to look back at our unforgettable memories at Al Mawakeb. Remember when we used to hang out at Al Barsha Park or walk each other to the bus area after school or those deep talks we had on the bleachers during recess? Each friend we made, lesson we learned, and hallway we walked enriched our lives forever. Let us remember our academic journey, from the ABCs to the complexities of advanced quantum mechanics and thermodynamics. We went through it all and never had a dull moment at Al Mawakeb. But then, let’s not forget the teachers, their patience, and their guidance through it all. Each memory brought a story, a lesson, or a laugh.
MustafaAl Rawas-12D, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha

Paul Bou Antoun-12D, Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud

Al Mawakeb has taught us to be eager, passionate, and resilient and prepared us to embrace opportunities with open arms and eager hearts. It has taught us to cheer each other on through triumphs and pick each other up after setbacks. As we step into the future, we are empowered to navigate life’s ever-changing landscape with confidence and determination… To our teachers and heads of section: Your belief in us often exceeded our own, and your dedication has shaped not just our intellect but our character. You saw potential where we saw limits. You cheered for our achievements and stood by us through challenges, teaching us not just about the subjects in books but about life. Thank you...

Maya Mustapha-12C, Al Mawakeb Al Garhoud

Memories from when I entered the school gates 14 years ago to this very moment flood my mind. I will forever remember the moment I walked into my first Scouts camp as a nervous fourth grader, unsure of what I would experience. Looking back at the memories, I can recall the marbled tiles and colorful chairs of our classrooms where our laughter and voices echoed across the school. Al Mawakeb has been a home to many of us—where we’ve laughed, cried, and grown up together. Today marks the commencement of a new chapter in our lives, filled with dreams waiting to be realized and aspirations waiting to be achieved. However, I stand here, unsure of what I am about to experience. This time, I am not a nervous fourth grader; I am a graduate, waiting to experience the life I have ahead of me.
Heba Al Halawani-12C, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha

Amin Mechraoui-12B, Al Mawakeb Al Barsha

Fellow graduates, as you embark on this new journey, I want to share a few important reminders. First, never stop learning. The world is constantly evolving, and your ability to adapt and grow will be vital to staying ahead. Second, always believe in yourself. You can achieve anything you set your mind to, so trust in your abilities and strive for greatness. Finally, always remember the importance of giving back. Use your talents and skills not just for personal success but also to positively impact the lives of others and contribute to the betterment of society. As you leave here today, carry with you a sense of pride, purpose, and possibility. You have the power to change the world, to make a difference, and to create a brighter future for generations to come.
Hamed Salman-12D, Al Mawakeb Al Khawaneej
Looking back on my time at Al Mawakeb, I see 13 years filled with joy, laughter, and friendship. Yet, alongside these moments were reflections, growth, and vital lessonslessons that continue to guide us and propel us towards independence, responsibility, and the power to shape our futures. My time at this school has instilled in me creativity, persistence, and purpose, but one lesson has proven to be invaluable to me: the importance of resilience and confidence. Throughout my educational journey, I’ve encountered new challenges and evolving environments. Whether navigating the aftermath of the global pandemic or tackling a group project, these experiences have not only taught me the importance of versatility, but also of patience, and showed me that change, as difficult as it may be, is nothing to be afraid of. As we prepare to move forward, let us embrace change and take these lessons to heart to face what tomorrow holds with determination, knowing that we have what it takes to make a positive impact on the world.
