All pupils benefit from a course on Leadership and management designed to encourage pupils to dare to lead, to foster a leadership mindset and to learn how to grow from set-backs. In addition, pupils have a series of options available to them to deploy and hone their leadership skills.
Pupils in the sixth-form may benefit of tuition from access to the UAE's most celebrated, multi-award-winning university, renowned for small business incubation. The Mini-MBA course is the product of a collaboration between Amity International School and Amity University, Dubai to provide unparalleled personal and profession development for Sixth-Formers. It not only provides a contemporary grounding in business principles, but also an enjoyable and engaging means to hone skills in entrepreneurship, innovation, leadership, team-work, negotiation, decision-making, risk-taking, creativity, self-confidence, and collaboration. With a heavy emphasis on sourcing opportunities, problem-solving and practical implementation of principles, it is envisaged that pupils following this course will have a more advanced and practical understanding of modern business compared to their peers at other schools.
The Sports Leaders' Award provides an alternative means for pupils to develop and hone their leadership skills whilst also helping both themselves and others to stay physical active. The Level 3 qualification (SL3) carries credit for UCAS applications.
As a sixth-former at Amity, pupils are expected to take on various levels of leadership and management, either at a society or club level, a house level or a whole school level.
