combined, ours is an amazing holistic program which enhances critical thinking and growth for all students at all levels of ability. Inclusion at our school means much more than just “special needs”. We are a diverse community and also a fully accredited school with a curriculum catering to highly academic, college-bound students. This is inclusion. Montessori is an essential element of inclusion, offering flexibility within multi-age-grouped classrooms and integrated programming. Early intervention and integrated services incorporate therapies into the classrooms to support all students. We utilize an integrated curriculum that blends our highly academic core subjects, Math, Sciences, English and Humanities to overlap with all of the Arts, combining multi-sensorially in a fun, interesting, and meaningful way. Additionally, our Enrichments and Electives programs infuse these academic studies in the Visual Arts, Dance, Music, and Theatre/Film. This is inclusion. Our campuses feature large classrooms filled with natural light in collaborative learning spaces that stimulate natural learning, creating a beautiful and comfortable environment, while also maintaining exceptional physical security. Our outdoor environments feature school gardens, soccer fields,

beautiful wooden playhouses for imaginative learning and large natural playscapes. Our Programs A Montessori education in early childhood nurtures and inspires the young child during the most critical phase of development in their life. Our Elementary program focuses on the whole child with an environment designed to satisfy the child’s immense appetite for knowledge, stimulating their natural curiosity. The elementary aged child has learned about the world through concrete experiences and is now capable of abstraction and great imagination. Through academic instruction and exploration, children build confidence, find joy, and develop a life-long love of learning. Our Secondary (Middle/High school) students experience real life application of the concepts they are learning in the classroom through a wide range of field studies. Students participate in service projects and study economics both in theory and practice through actual business ventures. Money earned funds class trips to destinations such as the Shakespeare Festival in Cedar City, Teton Science Camp, and Washington D.C. citizenship and discipleship.

Lutheran schools provide a Christian education that places a high value on children and their academic, social, emotional and spiritual development.

WE PURSUE EXCELLENCE Lutheran schools meet or exceed state and national standards for high-quality schools. Through National Lutheran Schools Accreditation (NLSA) schools complete a rigorous self-study, are reviewed by a team of peers, and implement initiatives that provide a continuing program of excellence for students.

Lutheran schools provide a place where children are safe and where teachers demonstrate Christ’s love for them. Educators in Lutheran schools model visionary, servant. and spiritual leadership. This means they build up students while encouraging them to serve others because of Christ’s love.

WE INNOVATE

Lutheran schools accept students from all walks of life and have a positive effect on communities in Utah. As Christian instruction is integrated into students’ lives, Christian decision-making and problem solving are facilitated and students learn to practice respect for others. WE SHOW THE LOVE OF CHRIST Teachers share the Word of God daily with children and families. Through education of the whole child, students are prepared and equipped for a life of Christian

Lutheran schools evolve to meet the needs of students and the communities they serve. Utah Lutheran schools have high academic standards in math, science, social science and language arts while incorporating music, visual arts, health and fitness and technology into the curriculum. Individual schools offer different opportunities for students to explore and experience: classical studies, project-based learning, STEM activities, service learning, drama, athletics, foreign language, and on-line classrooms.

FIND A LUTHERAN SCHOOL FOR YOUR CHILD Concordia Learning Center & Holy Trinity Lutheran School offers infant-3rd grade. Here, children experience life and education through art, math, science, Latin, movement and music, literacy, and language. We believe that a child’s spiritual growth is equally important as academics. We accomplish this by having religious instruction each day and chapel once a week.

Our Family, Your Family, His Family Grace Lutheran School offers PS3–8th grades. Grace integrates online learning into the traditional classroom and incorporates STEM activities in all grades. International students add cultural diversity to the student body. Along with a strong academic curriculum, Grace offers visual arts, a music program, foreign language, service learning, and competitive athletics.

Growing in Grace Redeemer Lutheran School in Sugarhouse offers infant-8th

grades. Students at Redeemer collaborate and communicate through carefully planned project based learning. We foster a lifelong love of learning. Latin is taught in grades 3-7 to develop vocabulary and promote language acquisition. Students are involved in community service and care of others.

Christ Centered - Student Focused - Community Involved St. John’s Community Child Development Center is a nonprofit, state licensed and nationally accredited center for infants – 12 year olds. The Emilia Reggio approach is used; an emergent curriculum that builds upon the child’s interest. We have a beautiful environment for children to learn, filled with natural products, art, STEM, and hands-on activities.

safe, nurturing, and learning environment. Caring teachers strive to meet individual needs and develop confidence as children learn and grow. Trinity Lutheran School in St. George fosters students who demonstrate; critical thinking, problem solving, individual responsibility, personal integrity, and standing publicly in their faith. Our multi-age classrooms incorporate project based learning, individualized instruction, and a vigorous academic program. Teachers work closely with parents to ensure each child’s success in an environment where everyone is family.

CHALLENGER SCHOOL 6 Wasatch Front Campuses challengerschool.com

Education Entrepreneur In 1960, while teaching in a public school, Challenger School founder and CEO Barbara Baker became alarmed that her first grade students had received no academics in kindergarten and that their best years for establishing a foundation for learning were being wasted. Barbara decided to leave the comfort of the public schools to start her own preschool where she could teach phonics to children before they went to public school. “I figured that if they learned phonics in preschool, no one could take that away from them.” In Barbara’s first class, there were only six paying students. Two years later,

as fascinated parents witnessed their children singing songs and bubbling with excitement about learning, the tiny preschool had grown to 100 half-day preschool students with another 100 students waiting for admission. Today, Challenger School educates more than 10,000 students annually. Challenging Curriculum Challenger teaches reading, composition, math, history, and logic as essential bedrock subjects upon which literature, science, and other subjects naturally depend. From preschool on, Challenger students regularly speak and

perform before their peers, teachers, and parents. These repeated experiences help them gain the confidence necessary for effective public speaking. Challenger graduates point to these experiences as the basis for success in college and the workplace. Challenger’s curriculum and philosophy lead students to respect and protect the unalienable rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness expressed so brilliantly by our Founding Fathers in the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution. Proven Methods Students learn to identify and establish connections

between ideas. This linked structure of ideas, this understanding of an idea connected to other supporting ideas, gives students a deep and lasting understanding of the subject. Our emphasis on independent reasoning results in Challenger students’ extraordinary academic performance and their unique ability to essentialize what they learn and integrate and connect it with what they know. Breathtaking Results Challenger’s proven curriculum and teaching methods help students develop the skills needed to succeed in whatever

they decide to pursue. As students learn foundational concepts and apply reasoning skills, the results are spectacular. On the 2019 Iowa Tests of Basic Skills (ITBS), Challenger students achieved average scores well above the 90th percentile. The average percentile rank for Challenger kindergartners was 98. Challenger School’s educational philosophy and methods set it apart from other schools. Challenger School, which offers preschool through eighth grade, operates 25 campuses, including six along the Wasatch Front. Learn more at ChallengerSchool.com.
