ALMENDRIA-Lastweek, JohannKümmel,whoservedas theDeputySupremeSecretaryof theUSRandasArchbishopof Almendria,resignedalmostall ofhispositionswithintheUSR inawrittenstatement The statementcitedcanon1323, section1oftheCodeofCanon Lawashisreasonforresigning thepositionofArchbishop-it statesthat“apersonwhohasnot yetcompletedthesixteenthyear ofage”wasnotsubjecttoa penaltywithintheCatholic Church.
Ontheotherhand,Kümmelgave numerousreasonsforhis resignationasDeputySupreme Secretary,includingthefactthat hehadbeenspendingtoomuch timeontheUSRandthe increaseinauthoritarianism, specificallyinrelationtoabill enactedlastweekthatbannedall politicalparties-withthe exceptionoftheAUCP,which allcitizensweretojoin(by extension,affirmingtheir supportofsocialism,which Kummelprotestedpriortohis resignation)
Earlythisweekinawritten statementabouthisresignation, TerryMcKeen-whoservesas SupremeSecretaryoftheUSRthankedKümmelforhisservice anddissolvedtheAutonomous RepublicofLacura,
whichhadbeenrequestedby Kümmelinhisstatement In responsetoKümmel’s allegationsofincreased authoritarianism,McKeenstated, “TheUSRhasnotbecomemore authoritarian,[as]wearea prosperousandthriving democraticsocialistunion,the willofthepeople(asa dictatorshipoftheproletarian); thepoliciesofthegovernmentof theUnionarethewillsofthe people…”
