CITY MANAGEMENT
Check your sprinkler systems! Starting November 1 through March 31, watering is permitted once a week on your primary watering day.
Take Note During the Rainy and Cold Season
Be sure to turn off scheduled sprinkler systems when it’s raining or below 32°F. Operating sprinklers during freezing conditions can lead to ice buildup on roads and sidewalks, creating dangerous conditions and potential liabilities for homeowners.
DEVELOPMENTS AROUND ALLEN
Welcome Allen’s Final Fire Station: Station 6 969 Ridgeview Drive • Allen, TX
Allen Fire Department is now answering calls from the new Fire Station 6!
The new fire station is located at the corner of Ridgeview Drive and North Watters Road and will address the needs of the growing northwestern area of the city. It is also Allen's final fire station location, as it was planned with the city’s full build-out in mind.
Funding for Station 6 was first approved by Allen voters in the 2016 bond election, and construction began in 2022. Completion of the station was timed to align with new developments within its service area along the State Highway 121 corridor.
Station 6 showcases a nostalgic firehouse design, featuring classic New England architecture with decorative windows and traditional folding doors.
Allen Public Library's temporary location opened its doors to the public on Monday, September 30. This location will serve as the Library’s interim home while expansion construction is underway at its main campus.
New at Allen Public Library: Patrons can now enjoy their borrowed items even longer! Options to renew materials have increased from three renewals to five renewals, provided that there are no holds placed on those items.
For more information about the Library, visit AllenLibrary.org.
Opening This Fall
1550 S. Greenville Ave • Allen, TX
In time for fall weather, the City of Allen will celebrate completion of the Molsen Farm Trailhead. This highly anticipated landmark will be ideal for riders, walkers and joggers to park and hop on the Rowlett Trail - a major component in Allen’s expansive hike and bike trail system, and one that extends into Plano. Enjoy ample parking, restrooms, a bicycle pump station and gateway to the gorgeous scenery beyond.
The trailhead is the first piece of the Molsen Farm Master Plan development to be completed and is expected to open in November 2024.

DEFEND YOUR DRAINS FROM HOLIDAY GREASE
Grease may start as a liquid, but as it cools, it solidifies and can form stubborn clogs in your pipes. This can lead to slow drains, backups, and costly plumbing repairs. Instead of washing your grease down the drain, participate in the Holiday Grease Roundup and recycle it for free!
From November 18 to January 10 you can schedule a curbside pickup online by using the MyAllen mobile app or by calling the Community Services Department at 214.509.4551.
Disposal of Natural Trees
CWD offers curbside collection of natural trees on your assigned trash day through Friday, January 10. Place your tree at the collection point at least two feet from trash and recycling carts. Trees must be stripped of all lights, tinsel, ornaments, hooks and tree stands. If your tree is over 6 feet tall, cut it in half for collection.
Do-It-Yourself Disposal of Natural Trees
Allen residents also can compost natural trees at the Texas Pure Products Wood Grinding Facility. Please bring a current City of Allen water bill and a driver’s license with a matching address to enter the facility.
Disposal of Flocked/Artificial Trees
Because flocked and artificial trees cannot be composted, they will not be collected as yard waste. Dispose of flocked or artificial Christmas trees on your assigned bulk
