Miami, FL…September 3, 2013…The North American Sommelier Association (NASA), a division of the Worldwide Sommelier Association (WSA) and Alessandra Orlich, President of Just Quality Importer Inc. (JQI), present the first Italian Wine Specialist Certification Class in the Southeastern United States. Under the tutelage of Diego Meraviglia (Gold Pin WSA Sommelier and certified by the Court of Master Sommeliers and Society of Wine Educators), both wine professionals and recreational wine lovers will benefit from this 5 day course and exam. The course will begin on October 26, 2013 from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., continue on October 27th, November 9th and 10th, and conclude with an exam on November 23rd. The cost is $650.00 and bookings can be made at: http://www.nasommelier.com/courses/italian-wine-specialist/#miami or for information, call 305.244.8272. Meraviglia, a Gold-Pin Sommelier, Master Taster, (ranked 5th by the WSA and named the 2013 World’s Best Sommelier) and his staff will bring the Italian wine experience to life. All instructors expertly know the country, as Italian natives, and wine, as certified sommeliers. “No one more than qualified experts from the very same country and regions that the wines come from, can provide this depth of information, stemming from not only facts and notions, but anecdotes and secrets,” explains Meraviglia. He is NASA’s current Vice President and Director of Education and certified by other renowned associations: Associazione Italiana Sommeliers affiliated with the WSA, Society of Wine Educators, and Court of Master Sommeliers. With American wine consumption per capita quickly growing, this course arrives just in time! Classes deeply explore all 20 wine regions of Italy, their wine laws, regulations, grape varietals, traditions, trends, history, typicality, as well as key characteristics, plus will include a brief overview of cuisine and culture. “I am very pleased to introduce the Italian Wine Specialist Certification Course to South Florida wine professionals and people just passionate about wine,” says Alessandra Orlich, President of JQI, a certified sommelier and official delegate for NASA, Florida. “The world of wine is wide and varied and continuing education courses are required to fully understand this field.” And, to add to the authenticity of this Italian wine experience, the course will be perfectly staged at the acclaimed Toscana Divino. Described by the Miami Herald as, “a divine trip to Tuscany” and with a “setting gorgeous inside and out,” old world meets Miami’s trendiest area, Mary Brickell Village, creating a perfect blend of wine, food, passion, and ambience. "Both enthusiasts and professionals alike will benefit from this course, whether they decide to pursue the final certification or not. The knowledge gained about Italy and its wines will be life-changing for enthusiasts who find themselves having to navigate through a tsunami of different wines, appellations, grapes and labels. They will be able to shop and enjoy with confidence,” concludes Meraviglia. “As for professionals, the capabilities gained will allow them to thrive in their working environments, be it sales, consulting, service or education. Knowing intimately what you are selling, is the Number 1 rule for success."
