Celebrity Designer, Mark Brunetz Speaks about Philanthropic Design at Grand Opening of The Carpet Boutique’s 3rd Miami Showroom

Miami, FL…May 5, 2014… Opening a third Miami showroom, is a dream come true for the Gonzalez family. When Manuel Gonzalez opened The Carpet Boutique in 1979, he envisioned bringing to Miami quality flooring products with a commitment to personalized service that would help his clients reach their design goals, from the concept through to execution. After the sudden loss of their father to cancer in 2003, the Gonzalez siblings put their own careers on hold and took over the operation of the business alongside their mother, Clara. They now run stores in Coral Gables, Midtown Miami, and soon, Aventura. “Opening a third store is a dream come true,” stated Clara Gonzalez. “We are thankful for the many years that our clients have supported us and hope the Aventura location will help serve them better. And, to affiliate ourselves with the importance of philanthropic design supports our mission to give back to the community. We hope that we can help Mark encourage more South Florida designers to participate.” “Coastal Dreams” -- where West Coast style meets East Coast living -- is the theme for the Grand Opening to be held at 6pm on Thursday, May 22, 2014. Emmy® Award-Winning, celebrity designer Mark Brunetz from Style Network’s Clean House hosts this event. Brunetz will share his experience with the International Design Guild’s Design for a Difference contest that awards the winning designer $25,000 in goods and services from IDG and collaborates with them to revitalize their nominated charity's space. “Design for a Difference is more than a name; it’s a mission to unite a community of designers and leverage their ability to change lives, one space at a time. And when it’s a space at a charity, it becomes the gift that keeps on giving, ” said Mark Brunetz. “It’s so important to give back, and this contest makes it so much easier for philanthropic designers to do so.” Designers, architects, and design students who would like to enter the Design for a Difference contest and nominate a favorite charitable organization, can visit www.idgcontest.com for more information. The deadline is June 1, 2014 and the winners will be announced on August 1, 2014. The event is FREE and open to the community, but an RSVP is required to news@thecarpetboutique.com, (305) 944-1015. The Carpet Boutique, 2250 NE 163 St., Miami, FL, 33160. More information about the event and contest can be found at: https://www.facebook.com/events/1425574637702532/ or www.thecarpetboutique.com
