'TAYLOR-BRAWNER PARK WITH ART' EXHIBIT IS OCT. 6-15 The City of Smyrna and the Taylor-Brawner House Foundation announce the fourth annual fine art exhibit and sale. The “Taylor-Brawner Park With Art Exhibit,” will be held at Smyrna’s Taylor-Brawner House on Oct. 6 -15. This annual event has grown to become Smyrna’s premier fine art event, and will include more than two dozen of the region’s most accomplished artists. Every participant

is recognized for their quality and accomplishments in the field. Every medium is represented; from oil, and acrylic, to water color, fiber art, wood and glass. Every piece displayed is jury selected and original; no prints allowed. A few of the featured artists are Dick Yarborough, Marsha Hamby Savage, Rebecca Brown, Ronnie Offen, Sonya Ingle, Barbara Kincaid, Wanda Crane, Richard

Herklotz, Virginia Dauth, Margaret Caudel, Paula Landry, and B.J. Hatcher. The popular silent auction is also back, featuring some 20 pieces of beautiful and unique art. The auction will be conducted during the opening night reception on Oct. 6 from 6 to 9 p.m. and will present the perfect opportunity to acquire beautiful unframed original art at a reasonable price. In addition to the large collection of framed art, loose and unframed art will also be available. And

Vinings and Smyrna as well as Northwest Fulton County. “This is an extension of Cobb Hospital,” said Amy Carrier, president of Cobb Hospital. This is the third WellStar Health Park; the two existing facilities in East Cobb and Acworth served some 300,000 patient visits last year. WellStar has some 200 employees at the other two health parks, Vinings will add an additional 175 employees. The Vinings Health Park is located at 4441 Atlanta Road SE. It is expected to serve some 200,000 residents within a five mile radius of its location near I-285 and Cumberland Pkwy. “Instead of building a new wing to the hospital we are doing this out in the community we serve,” said Joe Brywczynski, senior vice president of WellStar health Park development. “This brings outpatient service to the community we serve. It combines and coordinates services under one roof in a one stop facility." Several innovative design features have been added to the new facility. The sleep center and cardiac rehabilitation area have direct access by elevator to the parking structure. Patients don’t have to come through the lobby for appointments. The Taste of Smyrna “Festival of Delectable” presented by Superior Plumbing is coming to satisfy palates, quench your thirst, fulfill your need for music and entertainment and please the kids, all in one day. Visitors can sample all Smyrna restaurants have to offer on Saturday, Sept. 16 from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. on the beautiful Village Green and Market Village in downtown Smyrna. Admission is free and samples may be purchased from $1 up to $4. Some 30 restaurants will be participating, including: Atkins Park, Maggiano’s, Copeland’s of New Orleans, Meehan’s Public House, Wing Zone, Cold Stone Creamery, Taste Jamaica, Williamson Bros. BBQ, Bruster’s Ice Cream, L’Thai West and more to tempt your taste buds and fill your senses. Each year, the Park With Art event grows in popularity, and more than 1,000 people attended last year. Come to browse and enjoy or come to shop; but come. Experience and relish the creative work of some of the region’s most gifted artists. The show is open Daily Oct. 7 through 15, noon to 5 p.m. and until 7 p.m. Oct. 11 and 12.
