We are grateful to you for getting to know us as you consider an adoption plan for your sweet baby. While there's no way for us to know how you are feeling, we do understand that this cannot be an easy journey

We hope that this book will give you a glimpse into our lives and show you the loving and supportive environment we would provide for your child if you were to choose our family for your precious little one.

our story

WE MET IN 2018 THE OLD-FASHIONED WAY...ONLINE!

After dating for 2 years, we bought our first house together and got married a year later in 2021. We have many similar interests, including watching and playing soccer, traveling, and spending time with our family and friends. As much as we have similarities, we also have differences, which allows us to have a balanced relationship. From the beginning, we held the same values-kindness, honesty, and respect. These values have strengthened our relationship over the years and guide us in how we would raise a child together.

Why adoption?

SINCE THE BEGINNING OF OUR RELATIONSHIP, WE HAVE KNOWN THAT WE WANTED TO BUILD A FAMILY TOGETHER.

Unfortunately, we struggled with infertility for over three years until we decided that adoption would be the best option for us to grow our family. Adoption was always something that Pedro had thought about, so this decision made sense for our family. We have had friends adopt and see the love and joy it brings to their families.

Pedro

PEDRO IS ONE OF THE MOST DRIVEN AND LOYAL PEOPLE THAT I HAVE EVER KNOWN.

He is always striving to better himself, whether through the Army National Guard, graduating from law school, or reading in his free time. After many hard years of work, Pedro has recently started a career as a lawyer and is excited for what his professional future will bring. Even though Pedro is very busy, he is dedicated to his family. He works from home part of the time and loves the flexibility this offers! His daughter Ava is the center of his world and he cherishes every moment they get to spend with each other.

His family lives out of state, but we see them whenever possible, and we are able to spend a lot of time with my family. Pedro’s family is from Guatemala, and he speaks fluent Spanish. We plan to raise our baby bilingual. Pedro enjoys staying active by going to the gym, going for walks, and activities like tubing with Ava in the winter. He is an amazing dad and I cannot wait for the opportunity to raise a baby with him!

Tracy

TRACY IS A LOVING DAUGHTER, SISTER, AUNT, STEP-MOM, AND WIFE.

She always makes time to see her niece and nephew and attend their extracurricular activities. Although much of her family lives in New Jersey and Vermont, we visit them once or twice a year. Tracy is caring, attentive, thoughtful, and loving. She is always looking after her family and friends and she has been an amazing step-mom to Ava. She goes above and beyond to ensure Ava feels loved and completely at home when she stays with us.

Tracy is also one of the most disciplined people I've ever met. Tracy has taught second grade for nearly 15 years and loves watching her students learn and grow. Being a teacher will give her summers off and her mom has graciously offered to help with some of the childcare during the school year. Tracy has dedicated most of her life to playing and coaching soccer and loves to travel. She also loves to cook and try new recipes. Tracy is truly a remarkable person and the woman I want to raise children with. She has all the qualities of a great mother!

meet Ava

AVA

Ava is Pedro's 13-year-old daughter from a previous marriage. She stays with us every other weekend. Ava is kind, has a good sense of humor and is quickly becoming a responsible teenager! She plays volleyball and lacrosse and enjoys dancing.

We take Ava on adventures and trips every chance that we get. She has been excited and always asking when we will fill the spare bedroom in our house since we moved in!

Ava is caring and responsible and we have no doubt that she will make an amazing big sister when the day comes!

We rescued Ned and Esther (who are brother and sister) when they were 10 weeks old as a bonded pair. They are now 3 years old and spend half the day chasing each other, and the other half sleeping! Ned can be a little shy, and Esther a little more brave. They are both very gentle and will love all the extra pets and cuddles from a new little one!

our home

WE HAVE LIVED IN OUR HOME FOR FOUR YEARS.

Our house has three bedrooms and a finished basement. We spend a lot of our time in our living room and especially love it during Christmas time with all of the decorations! We live in a family-friendly neighborhood and enjoy all our town has to offer. We also love to spend time in our great backyard and frequently have BBQs with friends and family (of course, with s'mores!)

IN OUR FAMILY, WE LOVE HOLIDAYS AND TRADITIONS!

We always look forward to decorating our house inside and out for Christmas, eating Tracy’s mother’s coffee cake for breakfast and Tracy’s cookies for dessert, and spending time with friends and family! Whether apple picking in the fall, frying turkey at Thanksgiving, or our 4th of July cookout, we love our traditions and look forward to creating new ones along the way.

our adventures

We have been traveling since we met and have tried to take an international trip yearly. We also do our best to visit Pedro's family every year. Two of our favorite road trips are Burlington, Vermont and Lake Placid, NY. We love to explore new areas by taking bike tours and trying different local foods! We cannot wait to pass on our love of travel and show the world to our child!

TRACY'S FAMILY: Tracy is fortunate to have her immediate family all living just 10 minutes from our home. She is extremely close with her sister who has two kids, and her mother. We often see our nieces and nephews at soccer games, dance recitals, and more! Her mother and sister will be great support systems for when we have our own child, and our niece and nephew are incredibly excited to have a baby cousin one day! Most of our holidays are celebrated at one of our houses. Tracy also has many cousins and extended family that live out of state. We typically get to see them at least once a year.

PEDRO'S FAMILY: Pedro has a few aunts, uncles, and cousins who live locally and who we enjoy seeing for holidays and celebrations. His immediate family all live a plane ride away. We see each other once a year. Pedro has a stepmom on his dad's side and a halfbrother and sister. He also has a sister, and we have a 3-year-old nephew on his mother's side. It can be hard to be so far apart, but we keep in regular contact and take advantage of the time we do get together!
