ARE A KIND, JOYFUL, AND ADVENTUROUS COUPLE (AND PRECIOUS PUP, SUNNY) WHO CANNOT WAIT TO BECOME PARENTS AND NURTURE YOUR CHILD IN A HOME FILLED WITH WARMTH AND UNCONDITIONAL LOVE.
While we won’t ever understand what you are feeling right now as you flip through these pages, please know that we support you fully and are incredibly grateful that you are considering adoption for your baby. We hope that we can stand with you through this journey, whatever your decision may be.

our story
We met at the finish line of a trail race in the mountains of North Carolina, but our paths crossed long before that.
WE LIKE TO THINK THE UNIVERSE HAD BEEN WEAVING US TOGETHER ALL ALONG.
We lived in the same area, knew many of the same people, and even missed each other at gatherings by just a few minutes. But finally, mutual friends brought us together at that race.
Fast-forward to today, eight years later, and we're still nestled at the foot of those mountains. Our cozy home is always buzzing with joy—thanks to our snuggly, fun-loving pup, Sunny, and three rowdy backyard chickens who keep us endlessly entertained.
Our marriage is rooted in mutual respect and deep love for one another, with adventure woven into every part of our lives —we even spent two years living and traveling the country in a camper van!
WHY ADOPTION?
We've always been the kind of people who let life unfold naturally. We take our time and thoughtfully consider every step along the journey. We know, with ultimate certainty, that we want to be parents and create a family filled with love. We believe adoption is the path that will lead us there.

Anyone who knows Liz will tell you she has a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and understood. Her friendship leaves a lasting imprint, offering support, warmth, and genuine connection.
SHE DOESN'T JUST SHOW UP FOR THE BIG MOMENTS—SHE'S THERE IN THE QUIET, EVERYDAY WAYS THAT MATTER MOST. THIS IS WHY I KNOW LIZ WILL BE AN INCREDIBLE PARENT.
I've seen her bring this same care and connection to the children she's worked with as an outdoor educator and to our nieces and nephews. Your child will be truly loved, seen, and heard for who they are, with Liz as their biggest cheerleader—just as she's always been for me.

Rachel is the most nurturing person I’ve ever met. Whether it’s looking after our puppy and chickens, cooking amazing meals for our family and friends, or being a hands-on and loving aunt to our five young nieces and nephews, caring for others is at the heart of who she is.
RACHEL’S CALM, STEADY PRESENCE BRINGS PEACE TO OUR HOME, AND HER KINDNESS AND LOYALTY IS UNMATCHED.
Her adventurous spirit guides her day-to-day, from long hikes deep in the mountains to planting a backyard garden to creating a beautiful piece of art, she is constantly exploring her passions and encourages me to do the same. As a wife, friend, and aunt, Rachel always puts others first and makes us each of us feel special and supported. She will be an incredible mom, loving without bounds and nurturing an environment full of empathy, patience, encouragement and adventure.
OUR HOME IS OUR HAPPY PLACE. WE OWN A 3 BED, 2 BATH HOUSE THAT IS FULL OF LIGHT AND WARMTH.
Our space is filled with pictures of family and adventures, our walls are covered with artwork we love (some of which Rachel has created!), and music is almost always playing. Our large, fenced backyard is an oasis—it’s our favorite place to be in all seasons. Planting flowers in the spring and summer, jumping in piles of leaves in the fall, and playing in the snow (if we’re lucky) in the winter are activities we love, and running around with Sunny every day brings us endless joy.
Our neighborhood is full of families with young kids, and several of our close friends live on our street. Our neighbors and their children gather in our yard on Halloween to begin our trick-or-treating journey.
It’s one of our favorite neighborhood traditions! Watching our young neighbors grow up is a true delight, and we’re so excited to imagine our child growing along with them.
Sunny is a 1-year old yellow lab who is full of energy and silliness. We’ve had her since she was 7-weeks old, and it’s been so much fun to watch her grow up. She loves to hike, swim, and even go whitewater rafting with us (she wears a life jacket, of course). When she’s not out adventuring, Sunny’s favorite activities are neighborhood walks and snuggles on the couch.

WE ABSOLUTELY LOVE OUR SWEET PUP, SUNNY, AND OUR THREE BACKYARD CHICKENS!
Our chickens came to us (literally)— a crazy story! Wilma appeared in our yard one day. She kept hanging around and slept in the tree outside our kitchen window. After a few days, we decided to take her in as our own and built a coop in the backyard. But she couldn’t be alone! Wilma, Carrot and Speckles are sweet pets, and we love the added benefit of eggs for breakfast each day!
REMEMBERING LUCY
Prior to Sunny, we had a 12.5-year-old lab named Lucy. Rachel raised her from puppyhood, and Liz came into her life when she was 5 years old. It’s important to mention Lucy because she had such a profound impact on our lives. We still talk about her every day.
LIZ'S FAMILY • Liz spent her childhood in Raleigh, NC with loving parents and an older brother. Her parents now live in a small town on the magical North Carolina coast. We visit them often and they are over the moon to welcome their first grandchild! Liz’s brother and his wife live in Chicago. They are incredibly excited to have a new niece or nephew. Liz has a large extended family, including 10 first cousins. Almost all her cousins have young children, and we love to gather with them each fall for our annual family reunion weekend.

RACHEL'S FAMILY • Rachel grew up in Michigan with her parents and older brother. We visit them several times a year, including their annual trip to North Carolina, where we hike and take our traditional cold-water plunge at Sliding Rock! Rachel has three nieces and two nephews ranging from 3 to 14 years of age and we love anytime we get to spend with them! A family favorite activity is swimming in Rachel's parents' pool—where the family dogs are always welcome to join the fun!

VANLIFE • WE BUILT A BED AND KITCHEN IN A SPRINTER CAMPERVAN AND TRAVELED ACROSS THE COUNTRY FOR TWO YEARS. BEFORE THE VAN, WE’D NEVER BUILT A THING IN OUR LIVES!
LIZ • LIZ COMPLETED THE ENTIRE 2,189-MILE APPALACHIAN TRAIL, FROM GEORGIA TO MAINE, ON FOOT.
GRAND CANYON ADVENTURE • WE HIKED TO THE BOTTOM OF THE GRAND CANYON AND BACK UP IN JUST ONE DAY!
RACHEL • THE WAY TO RACHEL'S HEART IS THROUGH PIZZA AND AMAZING FOOD. BONUS FACT: RACHEL GRADUATED FROM CULINARY SCHOOL!
HOME • OUR FAVORITE PLACE TO BE IS IN OUR BACKYARD ON A PRETTY AFTERNOON, GARDENING AND HANGING OUT WITH SUNNY AND OUR CHICKENS. WE ADORE THE HOME WE'VE CREATED!
