Jacob & Scott

Hello!

We're so grateful that you're taking the time to get to know us.

We understand this decision likely comes with a lot of emotions and unknowns, but we admire your courage in exploring all of the options for you and your baby. We know that it's going to be difficult to fit all of who we are into just a few pages, but most importantly we want you to know that we are an adventurous, loving couple who are excited to expand our family through adoption. We promise to create a loving, fun, and supportive home where your child will thrive and grow.

We promise to be there for your baby in every way possible, providing them with a safe, nurturing environment filled with laughter and love. Thank you again for considering us and taking the time to read our story. We are so excited to begin this journey.

Jacob & Scott with love,

Where we started

Our story began in 2014 when we met through a dating app. Our first date went so well that we ended up having our second date later the same day over pizza and a few intense rounds of Mario Kart!

Over the years, we built a life filled with adventure, laughter, and love. From traveling to new places to quiet evenings cooking together, we’ve cherished every moment. We knew that marriage would be the next step, and during a family trip to Disney World, Jacob finally popped the question to Scott. In surprise, Scott almost knocked the ring out of Jacob’s hand and into the water!

We got married in 2022, surrounded by the family and friends who mean the world to us. It was a day filled with love and joy and marked the start of our next chapter together.

Now, we are excited to continue our journey by welcoming a child into our lives, creating new memories, and building traditions as a family.

Why adoption?

Adoption has always felt like the right path for us.

We believe that family is built through love and commitment, not by how it is created. Growing up, both of us had large families with many children running around, whether they be cousins or nieces and nephews. We want to provide a nurturing, supportive home and large family where your child will feel valued and loved every day of their life.

We are so excited about the possibility of growing our family and sharing our love, adventures, and traditions with a little one. We can't wait to embark on this journey together.

meet Jacob

as told by Scott

From the moment I met Jacob for lunch on a December afternoon, I knew life would never be the same. He instantly became someone I wanted to know more about and spend every waking moment with. He quickly became the one I knew I wanted to be with forever.

Jacob displays the best qualities you could want in a husband. He’s caring and empathetic, boisterous and charming, pursues his passions unapologetically, and always prioritizes spending quality time with those he cares about, whether it be dinner out on the town or a cozy movie night under a blanket.

Jacob has a very close relationship with his family, always making time to call and chat. Watching him FaceTime with his nephews always brings a smile to my face and theirs. When we gather with friends or neighbors, Jacob is the first to be on the ground and play firetrucks, braid hair, or be the monster all the kids tackle. Family is everything to him and I know he'll show the same dedication and commitment to being a father.

meet Scott

as told by Jacob

Scott is my partner in everything, and I’m grateful for him every day. He’s always willing to go on an adventure and do something new, but he also appreciates a quiet night in, snuggling our dog and playing video games.

Scott and I share many passions, often trying to maintain conversations in other languages and cooking incredible dishes. He especially loves scouting for holiday decorations as well as creating an organization system for everything. He keeps our home festive and orderly.

He's always had a special way of interacting with children, showing a playful, thoughtful, and gentle nature. I know he will be a wonderful father -- one who creates fun, laughter-filled moments and offers endless support and encouragement.

extended family

Jacob's family: I am the youngest of two boys. My brother Matthew lives in Virginia, where we grew up, with his wife and two sons. My parents, Joyce and Jay, live a short drive away from them in Virginia.

Since both parents are one of five or six children, there are numerous cousins and even more extended family. We regularly take trips to Virginia to spend time with everyone. My parents especially love planning large family trips every couple of years.

Scott's family: I was the youngest of four children growing up but added two younger stepbrothers when my parents remarried. My mom, Cathy worked in the City of Rome government and my dad, Bill, was a police officer for most his career. Both are retired now and can’t wait for a new grandbaby to spoil.

I grew up in north Georgia, surrounded by all of my nieces and nephews from an early age. My brothers and sisters still live in the Rome area and frequent trips are made to see everyone, play cards game all night long, and enjoy time awith our youngest nephew, Daniel, who was adopted recently by his sister and brother-in-law.

Our home is a cozy, welcoming space in a friendly and diverse neighborhood.

home sweet home

We live in a three-bedroom house, perfect for our growing family. The backyard is one of our favorite spots—it’s the ideal space for outdoor play and relaxation. Our yard even has an adjoining gate with our neighbors, letting their kids (and potentially yours!) have a wider domain to explore and play.

We

love where we live!

Our street and the wider community are full of families who love to organize events, like the annual spring social and fall pride party, which bring everyone together. Our community also loves decorating for the holidays, making every season feel festive. During cool weather, we enjoy spending time on the patio with neighbors and friends, sharing stories and watching their kids play. We can't wait to make even more memories in this special place as our family grows.

meet our pup

Meet Kupo, our seven-year-old boxer mix!

Kupo is the sweetest and most loyal companion we could ask for. She’s a gentle soul who loves nothing more than cuddling up on the couch or napping in a sunny spot. While she can be shy at first, once she warms up, she’s incredibly affectionate and playful.

Kupo is great with children—she’s calm, patient, and always happy to be around little ones. She’ll be a wonderful friend and protector for our future child. We’re excited to see them grow up together, creating a bond filled with love, laughter, and lots of playtime. Kupo can’t wait to welcome a new baby into our home.

before you go...

If you do choose adoption and our family, we make you these promises:

We promise to love and support your child unconditionally.

We promise to honor and foster the culture from which your child comes.

We promise to develop skills to be a life-long learner who never stops following their heart.

We promise to explore the world together, finding appreciation for other people and nature.

We promise to never stop laughing during game night, at Scott’s silly dancing, at Jacob’s sing-along talking, and at all the small things that make life beautiful.

And lastly, we promise to make sure they know how deeply loved they are by you and by us.

Thank you again for taking the time to get to know us! We would love the chance to get to know you, too! We hope that at the end of this journey, you feel peace with whatever you decide.

All of our love, Jacob & Scott
