Arrowhead Village

ARCH511 | Spring 2024 | Prof: Populous

The Arrowhead Village is located right outside of Arrowhead Stadium, home to the Kansas City Chiefs, in Kansas City, Missouri. Through weeks of research, I found that the stadium is located in a "desert" with very few amenities in the area for people who are visiting for game day. After looking at other mixed-use developments outside of major sporting venues, I was inspired to create a similar district. With an outdoor flex space, bars and restaurants, shops and businesses, along with hotels and apartments, this area is the beginning of what could be Kansas City's newest blue zone, while creating a destination outside of the stadium for more than just game day.

Maker’s Market

ARCH411

| Spring 2023 | Prof Ryan

This project is a market-hall located in Benson, Nebraska. Due to the creative nature of this area, my partner, Lubna Al-Sebaie, and I chose to take advantage of that interest, and build a market-hall to help local artists start their own businesses in an encouraging space. This project was strategically designed to help encourage people to navigate their way through the building by seeing other areas of the artistic profession and being drawn to the similar concepts that are surrounding each station. This project was taken from the schematic phase, all the way through the construction documentation phase and was finalized with a construction document booklet.

SYNTHESIS STATEMENT

The UNMC Student Health and Wellness Center is located north of the Student Life Center on UNMC campus in Omaha, Nebraska. This building was designed with the concepts of holistic architecture and biophilic design in mind. Our team was tasked with creating a space for UNMC students to be able to go to decompress and focus on their mental and physical wellbeing. Our team strategically chose the placement, shape, and concepts of our building with all of this in mind. In the end, we created a multi function design that students and staff can both go to decompress, study, or find professional help. The main focus of this building is providing the Health and Wellness Center to UNMC students while also having the opportunity to participate in art or music therapy. Overall, this building promotes the health and wellbeing of anyone who comes into contact with it.

Planting Design

ARCH 567 | Fall 2023 | Prof Kim Todd

During Planting Design, we had 3 main projects. Each project had a client that we met with to hear about what they want done with the area, and what kind of plants they have considered using. Each project taught us more about the different ways that each plant can be used, and how to think critically about how the landscape influences the way we feel and interact with the environment around us.

ACRE Design+

Architect Intern | Lincoln, NE | May 2023 - Present

During my time with ACRE Design+ I have had the opportunity to learn many facets of what it is like to do architecture in the real world. I have had the opportunity to work side-by-side with our on-site architect to learn as much as I possibly can. I have been given a variety of projects to work on such as a truck stop, apartment buildings, and even had the opportunity to look at what the potential may be for a rooftop deck. Throughout these many projects, I have learned a lot about moving projects from the schematic phase to the construction documentation phase and what needs to be done to get designs permitted.

Hubbard

As the Architect Intern at Timberlyne, I had the opportunity to create secondary plans for the current predesigns that Timberlyne sells. These are a few examples of my designs that have been added to the website and are sold as another option for the predesigned homes while also showing that the homes can be modified to fit the wants and needs of the customer.
