The UNMC Student Health and Wellness Center is located north of the Student Life Center on UNMC campus in Omaha, Nebraska. This building was designed with the concepts of holistic architecture and biophilic design in mind. Our team was tasked with creating a space for UNMC students to be able to go to decompress and focus on their mental and physical wellbeing. Our team strategically chose the placement, shape, and concepts of our building with all of this in mind. In the end, we created a multi function design that students and staff can both go to decompress, study, or find professional help. The main focus of this building is providing the Health and Wellness Center to UNMC students while also having the opportunity to participate in art or music therapy. Overall, this building promotes the health and wellbeing of anyone who comes into contact with it.

3000 Sumner Street Duplex

This duplex sits on a corner lot at the end of the Sumner Street cul de sac, with Jefferson Avenue on the other side of the lot. This lot was very challenging as the topography drops around ten feet from the west side, to the east side. This design compliments the change in elevation by having two separate entrances, one for each unit. This gives each unit the feeling of having their own place that they do not share. One of the main focuses on this structure is the wrapping of the unit around each other, similar to DNA strands, to mazimize the views for each unit.

Xhibition is a street culture house for children ages 6-18, located in Fredens Park in Copenhagen, Denmark. This project was inspired by the company GAME in Denmark that invites children who may not have access to places such as basketball and soccer courts to come to their center for a low price and create connections with peers who share interests in street sports. Input for this project was given by 14 year old children attending a local school in Nørreport as if they were the clients. Xhibition invites local children to come and explore street sports in a low-cost environment where they have the opportunity to make new connections and encourage active lifestyles.

2525 Calvert Street ADU

This Adjacent Dwelling Unit was designed to be placed in the backyard of 2525 Calvert Street in Lincoln, Nebraska. The ADU had a limit of 700 square feet and had to take into consideration the climate and views along with entry to the ADU from a supplied parking apron. The existing house on the site had Japanese influece in some of the rooms and focused a lot on the views into the backyard. Using that knowledge, this ADU was created to not block any views, but share similar views and fit in with the Japanese influence already in the existing house.

Portman's Gallery is a museum of architectural spaces located in Lincoln, Nebraska, near the state capital building on the corner of K Street and South 17th Street. This structure has 4 main areas, the gallery, the tunnel, the entryway, and the community workshop. This building was intended to teach the public about architecture and to encourage the public to get involved with the idea of designing. This museum would have changing exhibits and some permanent exhibits as well. The corner of the building that faces the street holds one of the permanent sculptures of the museum, the Mariott Marquis in Atlanta, Georgia. This gallery was named after the architect of the Mariott, John, C. Portman Jr.
