From the very beginning of the building’s history the motif of arches was strongly present, starting from extensive arcades inside of the Friedrichstraßenpassage going to the arches on the remaining building facade of Art House Tacheles at Oranienburger Straße. The architecture office of the new development decided to use the motif of arches in one of the new buildings. (Fig. 54) Not only use it but also make it the dominant form of the opening in the entire “ORO” building, designed on a trapezoid plan located at Aaron-BernsteinPlatz 1, which is of “arch-based” interest for that work.
ORO is located 500 m from the Forum an der Museumsinsel, described in the previous chapter. At the time of writing this work, so in July 2023, it is already close to being finished and is going to perform residential functions with expectations to be a “new landmark”. The landmark among residential buildings in that area, with its shape and location on the masterplan, as well as in the central district of Berlin. Moreover, it can be noticed that arched windows have less effect on the interior. The north facade, which looks to the Oranienburger Str. affects by the shape the atmosphere inside. (Fig. 56)
