Welcome back faculty, staff, and students to Albany Technical College!
It’s wonderful to welcome new and returning Albany Tech Titans to campus (in-person or virtually) for an exciting 2025-2026 academic year! Each new year begins with a sense of anticipation, rebirth and excitement about opportunities that will come along the way, and I am thrilled to be on this Titan journey with each of you.
The year ahead will likely have challenges, uncertainties, and victories; therefore, I encourage each of you to embrace curiosity and innovation as the rapid advancement of technology is transforming every aspect of our lives and redefining the educational structure and workforce landscape. With the rapid pace of a tech-driven workforce, technical colleges will have the opportunity to prepare adult and high school dual enrolled learners with industryrecognized training necessary for career mobility with programs such as Integrated Education Training (IETs) programs, which are designed to combine adult education and literacy with workforce preparation and training, and Project-based learning (PBL) which will help students develop skills and knowledge by working on real-world problems.
These approaches aim to equip individuals with skills and credentials needed for in-demand careers and create a pipeline of skilled workers. To strengthen the talent pipeline this year and beyond, Albany Technical College is dedicated to bridging technical education with industry by enhancing existing and new relationships with industry partners through apprenticeship and internship opportunities for students, implementing new academic programs such as Respiratory Care, Floor Covering, adopting new A.S. Degree options that will provide a seamless transition for technical college graduates into 4-year colleges or universities, and offering flexible course scheduling such as evening, online, and weekend. Career exposure, hands-on learning, acquiring industry certifications and forging meaningful and relevant articulation agreements with 4-year colleges and universities will help meet the workforce demands and build the earning power for technical college graduates.
