We officially have ads up on two billboards around town! You can see the first one on Pacific Highway heading towards the overpass, just past Towne Pump across from the Shell Station. The other one is on Highway 20 as you’re coming in from Lebanon on the right side of the street, right after Cottonwoods Market and the right turn onto Knox Butte Rd. These locations will change every 2 months. We’ll keep you informed when to look for the new boards!
“Summer means happy times and good sunshine”~Brian Wilson
As the school year is winding down and summer begins, our work here at the Albany Public Schools Foundation is about to shine as we award our graduating seniors over $232,000.00 in scholarships. Thanks to our many donors, businesses and individuals who share the same goal, to give our youth in Albany the means to follow their dreams and further their education. We want to thank you all for your generous support of APSF and our scholarship recipients. We would love to increase the amount of scholarships we give out in 2025, so please reach out to us to discuss!
A few weeks ago, we attended the GAPS Open House for retiring staff in our district. We were honored to be included so that could express our sincere appreciation for all they have done for our students over the years. We wish them the best in retirement.
Our iCelebrate Kids Gala -Celebrating 40 years of Supporting our Students in our community, is quickly approaching. We would love to have you there! Come celebrate with us to raise money for the kids. It will be a night filled with rubies and red carpet. You will be greeted with a red carpet, a champagne toast with a commemorative keepsake glass, live music, plus an opportunity for a professional photographer to capture you and your friends in a free photo. You will enjoy a dinner buffet, silent and live auction items, you won’t want to miss out on. Be sure to get your tickets now!
Peely’s Teacher Resource Center is coming together quite nicely. We have had some wonderful volunteers from our community help us organize and inventory our school supplies. Be sure to keep an eye on our website and this newsletter as we will be posting wish lists of items we could use. All of our supplies will be FREE to teachers in our district.
Albany Public Schools Foundation is like most nonprofits. We need your help so we can continue to do our good work for our youth in Albany. Your support will allow us to do that. Have you ever considered a monthly reoccurring donation or starting an endowment, so your legacy will continue to support APSF? Give me a call and we can discuss all the ways you can support the foundation and all the great work we do.
Have a wonderful June and Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there!
Thanks for your support!
Congratulations to all retiring GAPS employees! We attended the 2024 retirement recognition event on Wednesday, May 22nd, and gave each retiring employee a special gift. We were honored to be a part of this, and we wish all retirees a very happy retirement! Thank you for all that you have done for Albany students. Cheers!

SWARM Attended our May Board Meeting
Some students from SWARM Robotics (South & West Albany Robotics Maniacs) Team 957 came to visit our May Board meeting to tell us all about the awesome things they’ve done with the money we’ve given their program. They brought their demo robot, OB1, with them to help hand out some of their program stickers for everyone. If you’d like to learn more about SWARM, you can check out their website at team957.com
We had a big volunteer work party on Friday the 17th to sort and organize our school supplies for Peely’s Teacher Supply House, which is planned to open this Fall!
We sorted hundreds of boxes of supplies into bins, got the bins labeled, and onto racks. The next step will be to count what we sorted!
We want to give a huge shoutout to our volunteers who helped out with step 1 of sorting! Thank you so much! This was a very busy day and we were all exhausted by the end. We can’t wait to start looking like an actual supply house and get inventory started!
We want to give a special shoutout and say Thank You to King Office Designs for donating two flip top tables and an office chair for Peely’s Teacher Supply House! The tables fold up flat and also roll, so we can get them through our doorways pretty easily. They are currently being used to help us sort through the hundreds of boxes of school supplies we have to inventory, but once we’re open they’ll be used to roll around to help our volunteers have a surface to fill orders on.
Thank You to AmeriTitle for donating 3 giant legal size file cabinets to us! These will greatly help us with our storage needs and help us really get organized. We’re excited to see how much we can fit in them!
