Located at the heart of Central Vietnam and at the crossroads of the north-south and east-west trading routes, Danang provides easy access to the country’s large markets such as Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, all within an hour flight radius. It is the largest city of Central Vietnam and one of the five largest cities in Vietnam. Conveniently, Danang lies on the north-south communication axis of land route (National Road 1A), rail, sea and air routes. It borders Thua Thien - Hue Province in the north, Quang Nam Province in the south and the west, and the Eastern Sea in the east.

Danang - The Eastern Gateway of the East - West Economic Corridor Danang Port is the Eastern gateway to the East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC), acting as the access point to the Pacific Ocean of the virtually untapped hinterland of Laos, Northeast Thailand, Myanmar and Central Vietnam. It generates a huge opportunity for Danang to develop economic exchange with other nations in the Greater Mekong Subregion and the Indian Ganges River economic areas. East-West Economic Corridor (EWEC) is the 1,450km route linking the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean. Danang Port is the well-equipped container port in the Central region, and one of the biggest commercial ports in Vietnam. In the past 5 years, the average growth rate of the volume of goods through the port was 16.2% per annum, of which the container volume grew at an average rate of 26.35% per annum. From Danang Port, there are currently many direct international shipping lines to Hong Kong, Singapore, Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Europe and America. Also, Danang Port is an ideal destination for tourist cruise ships. ď‚Ş Danang International Airport, less than 10 - minute drive from the city centre, is one of the three best airports and the third busiest terminal in Vietnam. The three - storey terminal on an area of 36,600m2 has enabled it to meet the standards of the International Aviation Transport Association and accommodate 4 - 6 million passengers per year. Danang International Airport is linked to many big cities in Vietnam and different Asian countries such as Singapore, Narita (Japan), Incheon/Seoul (South Korea), Hong Kong, Siem Riep (Cambodia), Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) and many cities in China, with more than 320 monthly international flights. Danang is one of the most advanced telecommunication hubs nationwide with a wellestablished infrastructure for international connectivity. It is also the first in the country to implement a citywide wireless broadband network, Danang Wifi, with about 329 access points across the city, providing companies and individuals with accessible and secure communications.

The International Marine Optical Fiber Cable Station (SEMEWE 3) with an international transmission line of 10 Gbps linking Vietnam with nearly 40 countries in Europe and Asia is based in Danang. Road System
All parts of Danang City are highly accessible via the developed road networks. Additionally, several transport links are under construction, securing the smooth flow of people and cargo between Danang and other cities in the region.
The multi-level flyover project at Hue T-junction was completed in March 2015, aiming at relieving traffic congestion and ensuring safety on the National Highway 1A. Danang - Quang Ngai Highway - 130km long and 26m wide will be completed in 2017 in order to facilitate cargo transportation and economic development in the region, connecting Danang with Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and Dung Quat Economic Zone.

Danang has many famous tourist sites close-by. The beautiful and spiritual Ngu Hanh Son or Marble Mountains, with their mysterious caves and ancient pagodas and souvenirs made of marble by hundreds of talented stone sculptors, are one of the municipal symbols and less than ten kilometers from Danang.

The gorgeous Ba Na Mountain at the 1,487m height with a temperate climate, fresh air, unspoiled forest and spectacular views is only a 40 minute drive from Danang. It was known as a high-class resort developed by the French a hundred years ago.
- The third one-line cable car system of Ba Na Hills Resort has a length of 5,771.61 meters, a high difference of 1,368.93 meters between its upper and lower stations, the nonstop cable with a length of 11,587 meters and cable rolls with a weight of about 141.24 tons, setting four Guinness World Records. - Fantasy Park is the only worldclass indoor entertainment park in Vietnam located at the top of Ba Na Mountain.

The nearby Son Tra Peninsular is a natural conservation area and ecological tourist site suitable for trekking, diving, swimming and fishing.
The Museum of Cham Sculpture built in 1915 is the only museum in South East Asia, preserving the unique Cham cultural heritage of the region.
