MCPe Foreword I highly doubt if you will find many people currently alive who are not interested in changing anything about the world, their societies or their fellows. I highly doubt it. Being part of a Youth Movement this is without doubt a true sense of belonging to this world. We not only interested in what is around us but how we can best change it so that we can be more fulfilled in our lives. For the last few years that I have been in AIESEC, I interacted and learnt from many youth. Those learnings not only made me a better person than before but intensified a certain need I never had before. It made me need change so much. It was and still is such a strong need that I find myself constantly taking new challenges even when I don’t have a clear game plan on the way forward. Why am I telling you this? Well I once stumbled upon a saying that if you want to change the world you must be ready to change yourself in the process. This quote by Leo Tolstoy rings with me because of the simple fact that change is a necessity. You will not change things around you and expect to be the same. That would be imposing yourself on your surroundings. With that said, I call unto all of you, South Africans or not, to ask ourselves the big question. Are we willing to change ourselves to actually grow this movement and lay the foundation for AIESEC reaching 100k people in SA. Or rather are we just interested in changing the society with no attitude, behavioural, mind-set shift on our side. Either way I can assure you two things. The experience will not be a walk in the park (more like a walk in the CBD actually). You will meet many challenges and all of taken with a learning mind-set can shape your resilience like no other. The second and most powerful things is, We need to be the change we want to see and being part of the change if selected to join AIESEC in South Africa is not a choice but a necessity for the sustainability of the organisation. I wish you all the luck in the process and if selected in your term.

Yours still changing Frederick Kalumuna-Kibogoya MCPe 1819.
