Subject Title Examination Board Qualification Subject Code Assessment Combined Science AQA GCSE 8464 (Trilogy) Linear Assessment 100% exam (2 Biology, 2 Chemistry and 2 Physics papers). Each paper will contribute 16.7% towards the overall GCSE grade. All examination papers are 1 hour and 15 minutes. Pupils will sit either the Higher tier (grades 9-9 to 4-3) or Foundation Tier (grades 5-5 to 1-1).
Subject Overview GCSE Combined Science (Trilogy) is a double GCSE. It builds on the Year 7 and Year 8 curriculum and it encourages pupils to explore, explain, theorise and model in science and develop a critical approach to scientific evidence. You will be investigating, observing, experimenting and testing out ideas as well as think about them. Pupils who take Combined Science will be taught all three sciences by subject specialists and this qualification leads directly into any A-level in Science.

Triple Science
Subject Title Examination Board Qualification Subject Code Assessment Triple Science AQA GCSE (Biology 8461; Chemistry 8462; Physics 8463) Linear assessment. 100% 100% examination (2 Biology, 2 Chemistry and 2 Physics papers). Each paper will contribute 50% towards each overall GCSE grade. All examination papers are 1 hour and 45 minutes.
Subject Overview Studying Triple Science results in pupils obtaining three separate GCSEs (sometimes called separate science). This course is offered to pupils who show excellent progress and potential across all three science disciplines and are able to confidentially obtain the highest grades. Each of the courses contains a larger content of material and therefore the final examinations are longer in length.
