From the CEO, Jeff Krejdl As we move into the last half of our fiscal year, I can share that your cooperative is performing well. Our commitment to taking care of our customers and maximizing the efficiencies needed to stay competitive in this volatile marketplace is paying dividends. The drought we are experiencing will have lingering effects as we move into next year, making those commitments even more critical. I know that I have mentioned it before. Still, as I think about the issues that are affecting our operations today, the one thing that keeps coming back to me is the strength and resiliency of the cooperative system business model. I genuinely believe that Ag Valley Co-op and the entire cooperative system were founded to withstand the economic, financial, and social pressures we face today. The seven cooperative principles help guide our business model; specifically, #5 Education, Training and Information, #6 Cooperation Among Cooperatives, and #7 Concern For Community, all directly address today's pressures. As we continue to assess how this will affect our operations, please remember that you are part of a cooperative system that was uniquely designed and built to help you get through times like these. We are stronger collectively, and Ag Valley Co-op is here to help you work through these challenges. I know that things are busy with harvest, but now is the time to consider your seed and crop input needs for next year. If you have not already been contacted by one of our agronomy team members, they will be around to visit with you about what your options are for locking in some of those needs for next year. If you happen to miss their visit, please do not hesitate to give any of our locations a call, and they can put you in touch with our Agronomy Department. I would also encourage you to keep in touch with our Energy Department concerning your fuel needs for this fall, next spring, and summer. The fuel market has been highly volatile for the past several weeks based on the uncertainty of the economy. That volatility may create an opportunity to lock in some of your fuel needs. Please give David a call at the Edison office with any questions. As always, I want to thank you for your business and continued support of Ag Valley Co-op. We know that you have options for your agricultural needs, and we will work hard every day to continue earning your business. Thank you!

October is Cooperative Month October is National Cooperative Month. Ag Valley Co-op is proud to be your cooperative of choice. Our roots run deep as a cooperative. We began in 1953 as the Edison Non-Stock Cooperative and later changed our name in 1996 to Ag Valley Co-op. A full video telling the Ag Valley Co-op story is available on our website at www.agvalley.com. During Cooperative Month, Governor Ricketts, signed a proclamation announcing October as Nebraska's Cooperative Month. October is also recognized nationally by the United States Department of Agriculture as Cooperative Month. Aside from the proclamation, Jeff Krejdl joined Rocky Webber this month at NCTA to teach students about cooperatives. Ag Valley also held a coloring contest for 1st graders in honor of Cooperative Month!
