Saige Tetgman, a senior at Southern Valley Schools partipated in a workbased learning program in partnership with Southern Valley Schools and Ag Valley Co-op. The goal of the work-based program is to help students get into the job force and learn about responsibilities.

Saige worked every Friday during the fall semester and some Saturdays in Edison helping with the scale. This opportunity gave Saige the opportunity to experience on the job training.

Saige said, "The best part about working at Ag Valley Co-op is the new opportunities and I enjoy working with new people. I also got to see another side of harvest that I have not been able to see yet as a farm kid."

Saige plans on attending Fort Hays State University or Southeast Community College next fall. She plans to major in Agriculture Business.

I hope that you had a Happy New Year! While it was only 26 days ago, it seems like much longer than that.The pace of the environment that we all operate in continues to quicken. The events that happened yesterday are quickly forgotten as the morning news cycle finds a new story to focus their attention on. At Ag Valley Co-op, our focus continues to be on what we can do to help you be successful as you position your farming operations to compete in the market conditions that we are operating in today. We never want that focus to become part of yesterday's news cycle.

The management team spent two days with the Board of Directors the first week in January discussing Ag Valley Co-op's strategic direction and how to develop a committed partnership with you.

We believe those partnerships are vital to the long-term success of your Cooperative. Those discussions will guide management as we make decisions about your Cooperative going forward. It was a very productive two days, and we all left the meetings feeling good about how Ag Valley Coop is positioned to meet your needs in the future. The management team will continue to work on initiatives that align with those discussions in the months ahead.

We continue to stay busy at Ag Valley. If you have driven by any of our facilities in the last 30 days, you have noticed the trucks lined up waiting to get loaded or the Ag Valley crew loading a train. The agronomy team has been busy spreading dry fertilizer this fall, and our feed and energy employees continue deliveries to your farm.

I genuinely want to thank you for your business and your support of Ag Valley Co-op. The employees of Ag Valley understand that we would not exist without you. We work hard every day to bring quality products and services to your family farm, and we appreciate the opportunity you have given us to be a part of your operation.

Ag Valley Co-op hosts Operator Training On January 19th, Ag Valley Co-op hosted operator training for sprayer operators, truck drivers, and agronomy location managers to prepare for spring. Forty-five employees attended the event and Ag Valley Co-op invited speakers from NCTA, Corteva, Ag Valley Co-op Safety Department and Verdesian.

Looking to plant spring wheat?

The Ag Valley Co-op Grain Department is getting inquiries from area producers who are looking at planting Spring Wheat this year. If this is something you are looking at, please call the Edison Grain Office at 308-927-2455 so we can gauge the interest and determine potential bushels.

We have had internal discussions about where and how we can handle these bushels. We would welcome the opportunity to work with you to develop a market and a suitable delivery locations. Thank you for your time and feedback!

Ag Valley Co-op Producer Summit Ag Valley Co-op is excited to host our first annual Producer Summit in McCook, NE at the Red Willow County Fair Grounds on February 16th.This is a free event soley for Ag Valley Co-op producers. The event is built to provide producers the tools to further success in their opertations. The event will feature keynote speaker, Steve Cubbage from Farmobile. Steve is an industry expert in Carbon Credits. Breakout sessions will feature Al Dutcher, Associate Nebraska State Climatologist, UNL Extension, Cheryl Karguth, Senior Risk Management Consultant - Energy, StoneX, Josh Linville, Director of Fertilizer, StoneX, Jim Warren, Commodity Broker, CHS Hedging. The event will also feature vendors from Bushel, CHS, Feed, and Winfield.

Steve Cubbage Keynote

Steve Cubbage is the vice president of professional services for Farmobile, a member of the Ag Growth International family of brands. Farmobile, Agriculture's Independent Data Company, is a leader in enabling farmers, ag retailers and ag channel partners to automatically collect, organize and share a standardized data set of agronomic and machine data from a mixed fleet of ag retail and farm equipment. The company is based in Leawood, Kansas.

With 30+ years in boots-on-the-ground farming, agronomy and precision ag leadership, Steve joined Farmobile in 2018 overseeing services to help customers stream top-quality, groundtruthed Farmobile-collected data into their systems and software. Steve serves, also, as a guest columnist for Farm Journal Media and founder of Record Harvest — a progressive agronomy services company he started in 1999.

Fourth generation on the family’s Nevada, MO, farm, Steve graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia in ag economics and journalism. He says it’s still a “bit of a mystery” how an ag journalist ended up in precisionag, where he “learns something new every day.”
