FAMILIES WHO GIVE TOGETHER...

At Agape, we have the privilege of witnessing the love of homegrown Atlantans serving our students and families. This homegrown-to-homegrown model is not only bridging communities, but also hearts and minds - all united in the hope of a brighter future for Atlanta. It is the immense compassion of our donors and volunteers that enables our students to thrive and flourish.

This month, we’re highlighting the Adams family a multi-generational family in Atlanta with the unique opportunity, passion, and determination to support Agape’s mission. Tom, Sr. and Anita Adams began serving at Agape at its inception through Trinity Presbyterian, making an incredible impact through their work as tutors, sponsorships, and more. Since then, the family has continued their legacy of service, contributing through both financial giving and volunteer efforts in many capacities.

Melissa chaired the Spring Benefit for 2 years and she and her three daughters designed and sponsored several Extreme Bedroom Makeovers for students through the National Charity League (NCL). Currently, their oldest daughter, Mackenzie, has entered the workforce as a young professional. Tanner, their middle daughter, is earning her college degree at the University of Georgia, and their youngest, Cannon, is in 9th grade at North Atlanta High School.

Thank you, Adams’ family! We continue to be deeply moved by your commitment and generosity.

You can learn more about the compassion of the Adams family in the March edition of North Buckhead Magazine.

PROGRAM ACTIVITY SPOTLIGHT

Our annual Black History Month Program had Agape filled with music, poetry, dance, and style. Our students and families came together to honor the beautiful history and legacy of Black and African American culture, art, and innovation in our country. We also highlighted performances by our local HBCU, Clark Atlanta’s drumline and the Satin Dolls majorettes.

Special thanks to thekey.com for sponsoring dinner for our students.

Thank you to our Education Specialist, Jasmene, for curating and producing a meaningful evening! To help sponsor future programs and celebrations, please contact our Director of Programs & Partnerships, Wes Wooten at wwooten@agapeatlanta.org.

A LOOK AHEAD

Spring Benefit 2025 is coming:

We recently asked Paige Lambert about what volunteering as this year’s Spring Benefit co-chair means to her...

“I enjoy co-chairing the Agape Spring Benefit because I know and have seen firsthand the impact that Agape provides to kids and families in this community. Co-Chairing this event with Molly Jamieson, allows both of us to bring people together to organize, shape, and ensure the success of something that we know will have a lasting, positive impact on others.”

RAGTime Galantine’s Day

On February 2025, our RAGTime seniors’ Galantine’s Day event was a wonderful success! The seniors were gifted felt flower bouquets that were provided by the Daisy Girl Scouts of Jackson Elementary. We also had the pleasure of welcoming Primrose Westside Pre-K students, who sang for the group before creating crafts together. For lunch, the seniors enjoyed a delicious meal from Olive Garden, generously sponsored by Primrose School of Atlanta Westside. Before the children left, they shared some Valentine’s Day “cookie love” with each senior. Thank you for loving on our senior citizens! To learn more about serving RAGTime, please contact: tnicholson@agapeatlanta.org.

Bolton community member and parent, Joanna Aponte, stops by to pick up her cookie order.

Cookie Love| “This was the perfect teacher appreciation gift!”

Thank you for helping us spread the Cookie Love this past Valentine’s Day! Funds raised from cookie sales and donations directly benefit the wide array of programs for children and families at Agape. Together, we are changing the trajectory of generational poverty, one child and family at a time!
