Summer camp season is our favorite time of year at Agape. It’s a time to slow down and enjoy experiences that are out of the ordinary. For many students, it’s a “time of firsts”—their first overnight trip away from home, their first horseback ride, and their first time canoeing. The pressure of school is off, and the freedom of fun fills the air. It’s always an adventure, filled with joyous laughter and bright smiles.
It is also a special time because our new kindergarten class joins the Agape family! Unlike traditional schools that start in August, our kinder class gets a head start—meeting new friends, learning the lay of the land, and connecting with their instructors— making their August transition to traditional school a smoother, more emotionally supported experience. Our camps include:
Camp Jump Smart | Reading comprehension and academic prep summer camp. [K-2nd]
GoGirlGo! & FIT Summer Camps | Active lifestyle-based camps for girls and boys. [3rd-8th]
Navigate Summer Camp | Outdoor adventures, college tours, and finance & entrepreneurship courses. [9th-12th]
Our Agape staff and instructors do amazing work all summer to keep the students engaged and learning while having the most fun! Summer would not be complete without a few of our annual traditions and trips, like...
Toccoa, GA | Camp Mikell
Nantahala Outdoor Center - NC | Julie’s Dream
Fernbank Musuem
Skating at Sparkles Family Fun Center
Trips to the movies
Pool fun
Soccer fun at the park
Silver Comet Trail exploration
Canoeing at Azalea Park
We cannot thank the sponsors and supporters enough for your contributions in making summer an unforgettable success and a special time of year! If you are interested in sponsoring summer camp programs in the future, please contact Saray Cruz at, screyes@agapeatlanta.org
Camp Mikell has been a cherished destination for Agape campers for ten years! Thanks to the generous hearts of the St. Anne’s Episcopal Church community, 26 of our campers participated this year and made unforgettable memories. Eight middle school students stretched their talents in a special Performing Arts Camp there, proving they have both range and skill! This year Agape and Camp Mikell partnered to provide all attending children with a FREE physical exam, while Agape supported transportation to and from Toccoa Falls. We are deeply grateful for Camp Mikell and St. Anne’s Episcopal Church for continuing to make this meaningful experience possible for our Agape students.
Agape travels close to 29,000 miles each year providing vital transportation for our students and senior citzens to participate in our programs.
“Mr. A has served the Agape Community with passion and dedication over the last 20 years. Mr. A is extremely dependable and always punctual. Mr. A takes his job seriously and is truly committed to serving the children and families of Agape to the best of his ability. We can always count on Mr. A!
Happy 20th Anniversary, Mr. A!” - Nell Benn, Agape CEO
June 29th marked 20 years of service and dedication for our Transportation and Bus Maintenance Coordinator, Mr. Alexander , aka, “Mr. A.” He manages a fleet that includes five buses, one handicap-accessible vehicle, and one minivan. He is a veteran, musician, and dedicated employee. Mr. A takes great pride in his role because he understands the importance of his work. A recent statistic revealed that over 50% of families in need of after-care programs do not participate due to a lack of transportation. The transportation department plays a vital role in Agape reaching our goals year after year.
Join us for our premiere Agape event, Flourish! On September 17, 2025, Flourish: An Agape Empowerment Luncheon for Women will ignite JOY with keynote motivational speaker, Helen Mitchell at the helm, and honor women leaders in our community. Flourish helps support funding that will empower our girls! We have 103 K-12 girls in our After-School Program with a growing list of young women participating in our Navigate post-secondary program. When you attend or sponsor Flourish, you help our girls overcome insurmountable challenges! To take the next step in support and learn more, please visit agapeflourish.org.
We are grateful to Eat Laugh Give leader, Allison Hill , whose ongoing powerful initiative, Heart of the Home , sees the kitchen not just as a room, but as a vessel for connection, nourishment, and love. In July & August, two Agape families will experience this transformation firsthand through home improvement projects that include appliances, fresh coats of paint, new furniture, and design touches. This program transforms more than just kitchens—it uplifts entire households by creating functional, welcoming spaces that become true centers of family life.
Allison Hill is also an honoree for our premiere event this year, Flourish and part of the Roark team who earned this year’s Corporate Partner of the Year Award. We are so thankful and can’t wait to share the “reveals” in the months to come!
