I Live for Jesus

whatever it may cost, I will not stop loving You. People may take away my freedom, destroy my dreams, and even take me away from my family. I’m going to a country where I have no friends and no one knows me. I’m going as a slave, maybe to start off by washing dishes and cleaning toilets. But, my God, I’m going with You and whatever may happen, I’ll never stop loving You.” The love of Christ inspired Joseph’s life every day. He was sold as a slave but remained faithful even as he faced the most difficult temptations. And what was the reward for this loyalty? Prison.

In this world, loyalty does not always bring Heaven as a reward. On earth, sometimes loyalty will bring hunger, poverty, hopelessness and even scorn from your friends.

But don’t worry. If Jesus is with you, if you have given your life to Christ, wherever you go the Lord will go with you.

Whether in prison, in a dungeon, or in disgrace, He will raise you up and turn you into a prince, because you are a child of the kingdom. You were born to be so, and will eventually be.

Joseph was a man who never stopped loving God. Because of his love for God he not only experienced the depths of pain and suffering but was also taken to the highest peaks of joy and fulfillment. He eventually became the most powerful man in Egypt, a pagan nation. God caused him to prosper in a foreign land.

If you fight for a better future, if you love Jesus and never stray from His love but keep your love and loyalty to Christ even when everything seems to be going wrong, I am certain that God will lift you up to the highest positions. He never abandons his faithful children, those who surrender and trust in Him. That is why the center of your experience has to be Christ.

Let’s imagine that a beautiful young lady works in a laundromat. She washes the clothes out of duty; after all, this is her work and she gets paid to do it. She simply washes the clothes. The shirts have neither face nor personality, they are only shirts. This lady does her duty as an obligation, and that is all.
